Sad. I remember our first trip to Toronto, in 1981 or 1982, and the Post Office was out on strike. I had to send all my postcards from Buffalo, on the drive back down state. The letter boxes had bands around them that kept them locked...and I didn't realize til the next trip 8 months later that there is no delivery on Saturday.

I feel badly for your Dad working in that environment. I am so grateful that I never had to join a union. As an RN (retired) I never took a job where they we unionized. I lived through a strike as a student, of the ancillary staff. it was brutal and very scary.

I still love Toronto, though. We have been there twice a year since the first trip. Now I can no longer travel, darn it.'
