Romney's steel skeleton in the Bain closet
Former company executives say they were generally satisfied with Bain's leadership, but they say the firm would have been better equipped to weather tough times had it not been saddled with such a heavy debt load.
They also fault Bain for putting inexperienced managers in place and spurning a buyout offer from a competitor. Workers say efforts to cut corners often backfired, driving costs higher.
The Kansas City millworkers, meanwhile, are still fuming, after being left with no health benefits and a reduced pension check.

Honestly, given King's attitude on Vietnam, I think that's one you have to give John McCain some slack on. He wasn't being racist, he didn't want to give a man who'd favored the people who tortured him a holiday.
Yeah I totally give him slack on that one; in fact I think it shows some serious political balls to go against the the PC-whitewash.
That being said, I'm an anti-American heathen so I like MLK's more controversial opinions. Not a fan of communism though; just one more path toward totalitarianism.

Here it is, and it certainly isn't going to make Newt Gingrich feel compassion for veterans, IMHO.
When Newt dared, at 15, to break the old man’s curfew of 11 p.m., Bob Gingrich recalled, with an intimidating pantomime, how he “grabbed him by the lapels and I smashed him against the wall. Then I dropped him. He didn’t do it again.”
There was more than a hint of rivalry when the little-schooled elder Gingrich volunteered the information that the bookish Newt was “only a runner-up as a National Merit Scholar. He wasn’t an A student … he wasn’t the class pride.” He added, with no sign of regret, that “some people thought I was too rough with Newt.”
Newt’s was a rootless boyhood as his stepfather’s military career moved the family around the U.S. and abroad. His mother became more and more emotionally fragile. How did she survive? I asked Kit Gingrich.
“I almost didn’t,” she blurted out. “I had manic-depressive illness.”
“Oh, sure. My life was moving from one post to another and another doctor and more medicine,” she told me. “You name it,” she said, referring to all the medications she was given for bipolar disorder, “and I was on it.” When a new doctor took her off all medication, she said, “I almost fell apart.” Bob Gingrich was furious and demanded that she be medicated again. But in that brief window of clarity, she told me, she saw him with new eyes. “Bob is a tyrant,” she declared. “No question about it.”
Newt grew to the age of 15 believing that Bob Gingrich was his real father.

Yikes! Perry wants to re-invade "Eye-rack"!
This is starting to seem like the joke about the Polish farmer who finds the genie:
A Polish farmer is ploughing his field when he hits an obstruction in the soil - a dirty old lamp. He picks it up and rubs it to clean it off, and a genie appears in a puff of smoke and offers him three wishes.
The farmer thinks and thinks and finally says: "I want every Mongol in Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia to rise up as one body, ride relentlessly to Krakow, camp outside the city walls for one night and then return home."
The genie looks confused, but he shrugs, and snaps his fingers, and the Mongols invade. They rampage through the country, looting and pillaging, reach Krakow...and then they go home.
"OK," says the genie, "that was your first wish. What else do you want?"
"I want the Mongols to invade Poland again... and then go home."
The genie sighs. "Fine, it's your wish, I guess." He snaps his fingers again, and the Mongols return, raid, loot, pillage and rape...then they go home.
"And what is your final wish?" asks the genie.
"I want the Mongols to invade Poland again, and then go home," says the farmer without hesitation.
So the Mongols invade once again.
"OK," the genie says, "What the hell? You could have wished for anything in the whole world, and you had the Mongols invade your own country three times. Why?!"
The farmer smiles. "They came here three times, and went home three times. That means they went through Russia SIX TIMES!"

Romney holds real disdain for those who take a pay cut to serve their country, IMHO. It's one feeling I just get from him, and I imagine he's got the same feeling for the troops as John Kerry--if you aren't smart or ambitious, you end up stuck in Iraq, or wherever else these politicians decide to send you.
