What he’s getting away with is most people don’t want to talk about politics, and so he knows he’s not going to get challenged on it, even though his manager should.
Forced Birth activists must come up with nearly $230,000 by 5pm today to get a recount of the Kansas abortion ban referendum they lost by 165,000 votes.

Sort of like our group who talks on Discord once a week tends to avoid political talk. It is generally suspected that one of our number has drunken the kool-aid. So the discussion generally trends around work happenings, sports (we’re in Pittsburgh), what shows people are watching (Sandman, etc.), and some news regarding family if it has come up.

Sigh. I see what you’re saying, and you’re not the first person to suggest it; Mrs. Fish said the same, when I first told her about what the pastor had said. There are good people who still go to that church, though; the true bigots go to the local megachurch, which has featured the likes of Michele Bachmann (R-Mars) on its expansive stage. I feel like I can still be a tempering influence on these people and guide them through their ignorance. If that changes, and I no longer feel like they’ll listen to me, you can be sure I’ll be out of there immediately.

If it’s ever released to the public, the affidavit used to get the warrant to raid Trump’s home will reveal that the judge was told that Trump’s lawyers had lied about returning classified documents, were therefore helping him commit a crime, and therefore that the crime-fraud exception to attorney-client privilege applies, and that they were entitled to seize documents normally protected by attorney-client privilege.

One thing to note here is that, since TFG’s mother is Scottish, he would be able to get a UK passport, which, given agreements between UK and the Republic of Ireland, would also give him access to the Republic, which is also an EU state, and therefore a gateway to the EU. One thing to note here is that, since TFG’s mother is Scottish, he would be able to get a UK passport, which, given agreements between UK and the Republic of Ireland, would also give him access to the Republic, which is also an EU state, and therefore a gateway to the EU. So I suspect the two passports are a US passport and a UK passport.
I don’t think that’s what Trump meant: former Presidents are entitled to a diplomatic passport, so that with the normal passport is two and his old cancelled diplomatic passport is three, all US passports. Former Presidents are expected to represent the United States overseas, as opposed to whatever the fuck Trump is doing.
I don’t know if the US would seize a foreign passport. They are technically foreign government property. Obviously, they will hold them temporarily for people who are getting US visas, but that’s voluntary. I’m honestly curious.
re: #57 Crush White Nationalism
With the 3rd party a traditional Republican who does not say the quiet part out loud, and the Republican candidate a madman who attempted a coup and stole highly classified documents, it might go differently than you expect. Republicans want to think of themselves as good people while being trash, and Trump only gives them permission to be trash. He does not offer them the illusion of being good people.
I think the only way you see a conservative split vote in 2024 is if the GOP runs someone other than Trump while Trump himself is around and declares himself as a 3rd party candidate. Very unlikely since the traditional GOP leadership would view this as a losing strategy.
NTSB Issues Clipped Analysis Of Plane Swap Crash
In what may be the shortest final report ever issued by the NTSB, the board found the probable cause of the crash of a Cessna 182 being used in a made-for-streaming airplane swap stunt for Red Bull last April to be “exceedance of the critical angle of attack which resulted in a stall, subsequent inverted spin, and impact with terrain.” The board spent just 150 words in its analysis of what went wrong (and right) with the stunt, which sparked intense media and forum discussion for days after the 182 slammed vertically into the desert.
These are the idjits who each put his own plane into free all, then jumped out with the idea that they would make their way to the other plane, climb in, and take control. One guy actually made it and landed safely in the plane the other guy had just abandoned. The other guy, alas, could not get into the first guy’s plane because it had stalled and flipped onto its back. I am actually surprised that they were smart enough to have parachutes, but they did and second idjit used his to land safely while his erstwhile ride home crashed nose-first into the desert. They did all this as an organized, publicized stunt even after the FAA had denied the necessary flight safety waiver. The two pilots were each fined $7,000 and lost their certificates (basically banned for life). Others involved were also fined, and received lesser suspensions. The best part is that the insurance company refused to pay off on the destroyed Cessna, apparently citing a gross negligence/criminal activity clause.
I am still here after 56 years of aviating, in large part because I don’t do stupid shit like this or give any encouragement to those who do.
The interval between FA and FO is really shrinking.

“…According to an FBI affidavit, Bies issued a variety of threats on Gab after agents searched Trump’s Mar-a-Lago complex for evidence of stolen classified documents.
He compared the FBI to the Nazi SS and the Soviet-era KGB and said everyone at the FBI, from agents to janitors, should be killed.
“My only goal is to kill more of them before I drop,” he wrote on Thursday. “I will not spend one second of my life in their custody.”
The case began that day when an FBI national threat team received a tip from a domestic terrorism tracking group that someone calling himself “BlankFocus” was posting threats on Gab.
“If you work for the FBI then you deserve to die,” the poster wrote in one message.
After an emergency request for information, Gab provided subscriber data for “Adam Campbell,” which the FBI said is an alias that Bies said he used “so that corporate Murica’ can’t google me out of a job.”
Agents tracked Bies’ IP address to his residence on Falls Road in rural Mercer County.”post-gazette.com

This time, it’s a man who has spent his time under indictment posting tweets about how he has been wronged, he was just exercising his First Amendment rights, he’s a political prisoner. The judge is having none of his shenanigans, and outright told the feds that if they’d cut a deal for him to plead to a felony charge, he would’ve thrown the book at him.
NOW: Sentencing is underway in Jan 6 case of John Cameron. Feds say on Jan 6, Cameron described a” “fun, exciting, interesting, historic event”… and has recently portrayed himself as a “political prisoner”

And air vents in a SCIF need to have grates in them. Yes they did think of that.
This is what happens when “amateurs” are elected to difficult and technical posts.
They wing it and try to bend it all to their childish view of things

Well. Stone has clout.
I would bet my house if I still had a Twitter account and said “They all need to die in prison” I’d be gone in a New York minute.
But good on him.
I always thought when they went low you should tear their fucking throats out, but that’s just me I guess.

Well Klan of Greene Gables…
I do those things because they are fun, one also keeps my mind sharp, the other might keep prostate cancer away, which is a concern since it’s happened in the immediate family. As a cisgendered, heterosexual, white male, in the United States of America… the last thing I have to worry about is discrimination.
re: #63 Crush White Nationalism
Both fascists and traditional Conservatives oppose women’s rights, so the people who do not respect women would have two choices. People who do respect women would have one choice.
The other major split between Trump and traditional conservatives like Cheney is their radically different views on foreign policy and the role of the United States on the world stage. A Cheney would never be kowtowing to Putin or Xi.
Since he’s pleading, I assume he will pay a shitload of money and get a light sentence.

Sorry to sound rude but Rightwingers don’t need lies to engage in violence. Look at how they treated Black Civil Rights activists when all those people wanted were equal rights and respect. Can we stop pretending that they are engaging in or threatening to engage in violence because people are lying to them? These are big adults. They’re not children. They choose to be lied to and choose to act violently based on obvious lies. It’s like we’re trying to find excuses for their reprehensible behavior when we don’t do that for other demographics.

Few, even among the morons of the Right, actually believe Right wing lies. But, as you say, belief is irrelevant. The lies of the right are an excuse for deplorables to justify acting deplorably.
Nazi lies about Jews had the exact same purpose and effect back in the day.

I keep wondering if the photo binders the FBI retrieved from Mar-a-Lago included pictures that were used to blackmail Lindsey.

re: #106 Alephnaught
One thing to note here is that, since TFG’s mother is Scottish, he would be able to get a UK passport,
It’s not that simple. He might be eligible, but he would have to apply, and it’s not automatic.
which, given agreements between UK and the Republic of Ireland, would also give him access to the Republic, which is also an EU state, and therefore a gateway to the EU.
No. UK citizens have the right to live and work in the CTA (UK and Ireland). Not in the EU.
So I suspect the two passports are a US passport and a UK passport.
Almost certainly the two passports are two US passports .
Any US citizen who wants to visit Israel and Saudi (or other Arab states) will have two passports.
