This is pretty classic. Dana Loesch is using "big government" to go after Breitbart LLC. The biggest of them all since she went to federal court.

Atlas Survival Shelters -> Survival Camp Photos

ATLAS SURVIVAL SHELTERS is proposing to lease this 2600 acre exotic animal ranch, 2 hours south of San Antonio, Texas, for the sole purpose of training it's shelter customers on how to survive in their bunkers. The ranch has several amenities that makes it a family weekend including feeding animals, archery, shooting guns, trampolines, swimming in ponds, four-wheeling and exotic hunts.

Yeah I think combat vets tend to have more perspective on this sort of thing. My grandfather was one. Owned more than a few rifles for hunting but he never acted like it meant he was somehow a bigger man for owning them. He was a product of his upbringing- think the guys in the Deer Hunter but a Korean War generation.

My idea of gold is jewelry.

Sort of out of fashion with Americans these days. Gold jewelry is still a popular choice in Asia, but if you go to many a jewelry boutique here in the US today you'll find quite a bit of silver (for the artsy, or slim wallet, crowd) or platinum group metal.

I notice quite a lot of space in the survival shelter is devoted to a computer desk and entertainment system with TV etc. and none to emergency food and water supplies that would last more than a day or two to serve the number of beds/people it is supposedly designed to house.

Under what circumstances is this bunker purporting to protect anyone from? An afternoon thunderstorm?

The most rational thing there would be the compact tornado shelters. The rest is largely paranoia and posers. Just another whacked out hobby of sorts.

Socialism, 2000BC:

Ancient humans cared for sick and disabled

Some archaeologists are suggesting a closer, more systematic look at how prehistoric people - who may have left only their bones - treated illness, injury and incapacitation. Call it the archaeology of health care. The case that led Lorna Tilley and Marc Oxenham of Australian National University in Canberra to this idea is that of a profoundly ill young man who lived 4,000 years ago in what is now northern Vietnam and was buried, as were others in his culture, at a site known as Man Bac.

[...] Burial 9, as both the remains and the once living person are known, was laid to rest curled in the fetal position. When Tilley, a graduate student in archaeology, and Oxenham, a professor, excavated and examined the skeleton in 2007 it became clear why. His fused vertebrae, weak bones and other evidence suggested that he lies in death as he did in life, bent and crippled by disease.

They gathered that he became paralyzed from the waist down before adolescence, the result of a congenital disease known as Klippel-Feil syndrome. He had little, if any, use of his arms and could not have fed himself or kept himself clean. But he lived another 10 years or so. They concluded that the people around him who had no metal and lived by fishing, hunting and raising barely domesticated pigs, took the time and care to tend to his every need.

This case, and other similar, if less extreme examples of illness and disability, have prompted Tilley and Oxenham to ask what the dimensions of such a story are, what care for the sick and injured says about the culture that provided it. "The provision and receipt of health care may therefore reflect some of the most fundamental aspects of a culture," the two archaeologists wrote in The International Journal of Paleopathology. In the case of Burial 9, Tilley says, not only does his care indicate tolerance and cooperation in his culture but suggests that he himself had a sense of his own worth and a strong will to live. Without that, she says, he could not have stayed alive. Among archaeological finds, she said, she knows "about 30 cases in which the disease or pathology was so severe, they must have had care in order to survive."

Mark Potok, spokesman for the Southern Poverty Law Center, writes that Cooper was well known within the militia movement for his book, Behold a Pale Horse and his anti-government shortwave radio program that reportedly included Oklahoma City bomber Timothy J. McVeigh as a fan.[1]

Cooper linked the Illuminati with his beliefs that extraterrestrials were secretly involved with the US government, but later rejected these claims. According to Cooper, Dwight D. Eisenhower negotiated a treaty with extraterrestrials in 1954 and established an inner circle of Illuminati to manage relations with the aliens and keep their presence a secret from the general public.

Milton William Cooper - Death

On November 5, 2001 Cooper was fatally shot by a law enforcement officer at his Eagar, Arizona home after confronting deputies trying to arrest him and shooting one of them in the head. Authorities said Cooper was carrying a handgun and fled when Apache County deputies identified themselves and tried to arrest Cooper on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangerment stemming from earlier disputes with local residents. Federal authorities reported that Cooper spent years trying to avoid capture on a 1998 arrest warrant for tax evasion and according to a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service, Cooper vowed "he would not be taken alive".

Charlie Daniels's Soapbox!!

Actually, the ACLU does not wage a war on religion, it wages a war on Christianity. It never bothers with any other faith. How about the Islamic footbaths installed in public places, isn't that a display of religion in a public place?

The truth be known, somebody could put a one hundred foot tall statue of Buddha on the lawn at Capitol Hill and the ACLU probably wouldn't say a word.

But actually these people are to be pitied, because atheism has a shelf life; it only lasts until the final breath and someday there will be a higher court, (you could call it the Supreme Being Court) where the atheists can plead their case, where the judgments are eternal and there is no appeal.

...

Only one other sport honors God with a prayer before each event begins. Guess who?

NASCAR of course.

This is America:

Bill Would Allow Academic Study of Bible in Public Schools

[...]

Altes' bill would allow districts to adopt their own Bible-based curriculum for a non-religious, academic study of The Good Book. The course would also be elective, and held by the state board of education to the same standard as other approved courses.

Dale Almond, a River Market merchant, says other religions should be given the same opportunity.

[...]

The only problem is... the bill does not give the same opportunity to other religions and religious writings.

Here's the text of the bill. (And here is last year's version that was not enacted.)

The text, while throwing in all the clearly required (as illuminated by numerous court cases over the decades) caveats regarding no religious qualifications, etc., still clearly says only "Bible".

And the reason is obvious, as the legislator in question has a particular worldview that sorts out the others.

Oh, and this ought not to surprise anyone, this legislator, D. Altes, also introduced the following bill last year:

THE DEFENSIVE CARRY RESTORATION ACT REGARDING THE DEFENSIVE CARRY OF FIREARMS.

He also seems to want to have a state Naturopathy board as part of the State medical hierarchy: AN ACT TO LICENSE NATUROPATHIC PRACTITIONERS.

This is America.

Those are RPD light machine guns or semi-auto copies, the ones at either end being replicas, though the middle one might be original. They do not feed from a box magazine, instead feeding from a 100-round belt that is carried in a container below the receiver.
