I just have a complete lack of understanding of these people. I mean, if you don’t use empirical observation and testing to determine what is and isn’t true, and if you deny the results from it when you don’t like them, how do you know ANYTHING?
I don’t get it. I never will get it.

I hear from Believers trying to argue me out of atheism that ‘If you don’t believe in something, you’ll believe anything!’, but really, it seems quite the reverse - If you believe in one thing against all evidence, you’ll believe anything despite all evidence.

Try using some classic flat rolled Quaker Oats ground up a bit to go along with the breadcrumbs. Also, I toss in flax seed as they also are a binder and you can use less egg. The oats and flax seed help make it a tad bit more healthy and I think the oats take on the texture of the meats.

I had to mix this one a lot. I kept seeing a patch of concentrated spices reappearing. Next time, I use the old sausagemaker’s trick - mix your spiced into the wet ingredients first, then add them.

The Governor’s Office said “The State of West Virginia vehemently opposes any discriminatory and harassing sentiments, language or actions.”
The Facebook post about First-Lady Michelle Obama gained worldwide attention and controversy in November.
According to the statement, a letter was sent to the Clay Development Center’s board on December 7 requesting guarantees that neither Taylor, nor any other employee, has acted in a discriminatory manner in providing services.
The Governor’s Office has also requested copies of the Corporation’s affirmative action plan and anti-discrimination polices and practices, along with how employees have been trained on those policies.
The office says they are currently waiting for a response from the Clay Development Corporation.

It’s been evident for a long time. Big money conservative Republicans do not want to pay for any taxes that go to any social programs. They have felt they carry too many “lazy” people for a long time and they have been looking for a way to put an end to that since, well The New Deal/Roosevelt times.
With Trump they most likely see a way to put a stop to it now.
I’d like to stop paying taxes to pay for career politicians like Paul Ryan and Mitt McConnell, their agents in the government. As far as I am concerned they too are lazy and on welfare.

I could at least see that as a rational position. Instead, you get these unicorn fart fairy tales about the Invisible Hand of the Free Market, that would make everyone rich beyond their wildest dreams, if only we stopped preventing companies from screwing workers, consumers, and the environment.

I’ve been thinking about the Electoral College, especially with all the discussions of trying to get Electors to reject Trump.
Of course, the GOP and the least populous states love it, because it gives the former an advantage and makes the latter feel all big and important. So, they’re never going to vote to abolish it.
Unless……
It’s clear that the guys who wrote the Constitution didn’t intend for the Electors to merely rubberstamp the popular vote. There would be no reason for them to meet and vote, if all they were ever to do was to was pass along their state’s wishes. They were to be men of good character and judgement who would weigh their state’s choice against that judgement. I mean, historians defending the EC will say, “What if some disqualifying thing becomes known between the election and the EC vote?”
It is argued - correctly, I think - that if enough Electors voted contrary to their pledges to change the result, that it would cause a Constitutional crisis. Probably violence, if they went for HRC. But it would be hard to cogently argue that it went against what the Founders intended.
But you can just dambetcha that the Electoral College would be abolished.

Please excuse my awful grammar, as I was falling asleep as I typed it. Way too many negatives in that sentence. As for the Trump and Co, without a department head, they don’t really have a mechanism to execute policy directives . He’d be undone by the bureaucracy. The biggest problem I think would be the lack of advocate for the organization for budgeting, but usually the acting head is a long term employee who actually knows wtf they are doing.

Yes they are. Scene Magazine apparently had an open audition for people to “design a replacement name/logo.”
One of the people behind it, Peter Pattakos, has made his virulent opposition to Chief Wahoo known over the years.
I would have figured that the Indians would wait some more to change their name now that the most non-PC person ever has been elected. Being uncaringly offensive is the new cool thing.

The team (thankfully) has nothing to do with this disaster of a contest.
Chief Wahoo was officially relegated to secondary logo status back in March (the red block C, believe it or not, is the primary logo) and Commissioner Rob Manfred has hinted at asking the team to retire Wahoo altogether.
I’m fine with retiring Chief Wahoo, but these options submitted by fans absolutely stink.

I believe Gordon Gund (then the owner of the Cavaliers) still holds the “Rockers” trademark… he folded the team in 2003 after failing to sell it. Or maybe the trademark passed over to Dan Gilbert when he bought the Cavs in 2004…

Is Putin thinking he can cut some kind of a deal with Trump that is going to help Russia out of its economic doldrums? And on the flip side, is Trump thinking a deal with Putin will end the split between the two countries and he will be seen as a hero for bringing the two countries together. Also, if there is a Russia and US alliance does Trump think that boxes China in and lessens them economically as far as trade and power?
And if cuts a deal, will it lead to Russia applying pressure on Syrian and change the landscape in the Middle East?
Just thinking outside the ol’ box.
