Muslim Sailor Sentenced to 10 Years

US News • Views: 2,489

Muslim convert Paul R. Hall, who chose the Islamic name “Hassan Abu-Jihaad,” joined the US Navy, and was convicted last year of passing information on ship movements to Al Qaeda, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The Investigative Project notes that the Hamas front group calling itself the Council on American Islamic Relations leapt to his defense, as they have done in every terrorist case:

Following his 2004 indictment, a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) officials challenged the allegations against Abu-Jihaad.

Abu-Jihaad “was very surprised to hear he might be connected to anything related to terrorism,” CAIR-Arizona Executive Director Deedra Abboud told the Los Angeles Times. “He’s now scared he might get picked up for something he can’t imagine being a part of.”

‘He’s now scared he might get picked up for something he can’t imagine being a part of.’

. The name ‘Abu-Jihaad’ was an early clue.

In the good old days, passing information on ship movements to the enemy was considered treason and punishable by execution.

We should have an all-muslim prison, manned by non-muslim prison guards. This would look like our government is “respecting” their religion when in reality the primary purpose is to keep them from converting non-muslims.

It’ll never happen, but I can wish.

John Anthony Walker

In May 1985, the FBI were tipped off to Walker’s activities by Walker’s then ex-wife Barbara, whom he had refused to pay alimony.[1] Following an investigation, the FBI arrested Walker, Whitworth, Arthur Walker and Michael Walker. Ironically, Walker himself was arrested using a trick he used to catch people in adultery cases: telephoning their hotel room and telling them that their car was broken into.[1] Barbara Walker was not prosecuted because of her role in disclosing the ring.[1][4] Former KGB agent Victor Cherkashin, however, details in his book “Spy Handler” that Walker was compromised by an FBI spy named Martynov, who overheard a conversation by chance in Moscow. Documents in his trial, Cherkashin argues, claimed that Martynov played a crucial role in the compromise of Walker’s cover.[8]

Walker cooperated with authorities and in a plea bargain, he agreed to submit to an unchallenged conviction and life sentence, provide a full disclosure of the details of his spying and give testimony against Jerry Whitworth in exchange for a pledge from the prosecutors that his son would receive a sentence of no more than 25 years imprisonment.[9][2] All of the members of the spy ring besides Michael Walker received life sentences for their role in the espionage. Jerry Whitworth was sentenced to 365 years in prison and was fined $410,000 dollars for his involvement.

Walker’s son Michael, who had a relatively minor role in the ring and agreed to testify in exchange for a reduced sentence, was released from prison on parole in February 2000.[1]

Walker is currently BOP Prisoner number 22449-037 and is incarcerated at a United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (MCFP). His earliest possible parole date is 20 May 2015, at which point he will have served 30 years in prison.

CAIR is also trying to get Brian Sussman, a San Francisco radio talkshow host, shut down for doing a humor bit about Islam:

The pair, during the Monday program, did a comedic segment about Islam and its tenets, and joked that “Islamic finance is about living within your means and helping the needy — unless they’re Jews,” the blog reported. Additionally, they observed that “the great honorable qualities of that good old time religion: honor killings, female circumcision, not allowing women to drive … Jews are monkeys, pigs.”

CAIR rebutted them by citing the Quran:

Hooper cited the Quran, the holy book of Islam: “Those who believe (in the Quran), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), the Sabians, and the Christians — any who believe in God and the Last Day and work righteousness — on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.” (Quran, 5:69)

No mention of the dhimmi status of the “people of the book,” naturally.

As mentioned ad infinitum here, one can mock Christians all day long, but make fun of Islam — and here comes CAIR.

On a rusty barnacle encrusted old ship.

Keelhauling

The keelhauling of the ships surgeon of admiral Jan van Nes, Lieve Pietersz. Verschuier.
Keelhauling in the Tudor period

Keelhauling (Dutch kielhalen[1]; “to drag along the keel”) was a severe form of corporal punishment meted out to sailors at sea. The sailor was tied to a rope that looped beneath the vessel, thrown overboard on one side of the ship, and dragged under the ship’s keel to the other side. As the hull was often covered in barnacles and other marine growth, this could result in cuts and other injuries. This generally happened if the offender was pulled quickly. If pulled slowly, his weight might lower him sufficiently to miss the barnacles but might result in his drowning.

Keelhauling was legally permitted as a punishment in the Dutch Navy. The earliest official mention of keelhauling is a Dutch ordinance of 1560, and the practice was not formally abolished until 1853. While not an official punishment, it was reportedly used by some British Royal Navy and merchant marine captains, and has become strongly associated with pirate lore.

The poor youth is innocent. He never broke a single letter of the Sharia code. If he gave out details of ship movements, it was in the furtherance of Jihad. How can that be against Sharia, and what other law counts? It’s just so unfair. He did what Allah wanted, step by step and to the letter, in perfect conformity to Islamic law and the example of Muhammad, pbuh. He himself is an exemplary Muslim, and CAIR is disappointed that so many others fail to step up and do the right thing like he did. What is the Faith of the Sword coming to, when legions of summer soldiers and sunshine patriots just keep their heads down rather than forthrightly choosing to sneak around gathering sailing dates and other strategic information, and thereby live by the sword, according to the code of the sword and the book of the sword?

Isn’t it interesting how similar the techniques of infiltration and treasonare, when one compares islam and communism.
In both cases we have people who are willing to betray their own country, for ideological reasons - and in both cases we have a class of willing enablers, usually the same intelligentsia, academe, media, literati and glitterati, who see nothing wrong with doing damage to their country, and who think its right to protect those who would destroy them.

I wonder how long this will be allowed to go on unchecked.

Nobody wants another witch hunt - but if thats whats needed to defend the realm, then thats whats got to be done …

I would say most of the traitors that aided the USSR and China did it for money, not for principal. There were exceptions, of course. But, it seems like most of these scumbags did it for one of two reasons: for money or because they felt they weren’t appreciated or some other nonsense.

With these converts, they think they are doing “god’s will”. Many of them are either over compensating for their recent conversion, or are being manipulated by others to do their dastardly deeds

Everyone that voluntarily joins the military to “protect the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. There is no part of the oath that says becoming said enemy is allowed. This is treason, pure and simple.

Or espionage. Or both.

If he subsequently has had an inclination to provide us with useful information on al Quaida’s activities, there could be room for some leniency here.

FBI deny Taliban are responsible for New York gun rampage which left 14 dead

However, I distrust the FBI a little since the Armanious family was slaughtered in 2002, after the FBI concluded it was a credit card theft gone bad.

Fine, then it was the Taliban. You don’t see a disconnect with that theory? The prep was a Nam immigrant, he claimed he was mad about his language skills, communicating, and his employment problems. He shot up a immigration center, some people who know him have already suggested that his anger was toward employment and stuff of that nature.

Looks like it was “just” handguns, both legally held.

Binghamton Searches for Reason Why Gunman Killed 14

Little was known about the assailant Friday night. Cautious officials declined to name the gunman, but there appeared to be little doubt about his identity. The official said Mr. Wong had a New York State pistol license that listed two handguns, apparently the weapons he used at the immigration services center: a .45-caliber Beretta and a 9-millimeter Beretta. The authorities matched the serial numbers of the two weapons found with the gunman’s body to the serial numbers on the pistol license. Officials said they were trying to trace the histories of the guns. Other public records indicated that Mr. Wong had also lived in California in recent years.

Too bad this is not available:

For exceptionally extreme crimes the British Royal Navy had an even more severe form of the flogging punishment - “flogging around the fleet”. The punisment would be administered in port, or at sea if a fleet of ships was gathered. The victim would be put in a row boat and would be continually flogged as the boat was rowed in a circle all the way around the fleet. Many of the victims of this punishment did not survive

For treason there should be NO leniency. People WILL die because of what this excrement did.

Maybe so.

Apparently, however, 10 years is the maximum sentence for this particular crime.

Very hard to second-guess the judge and prosecutors on this one. They’re the ones with the actual facts.

The judge threw out a second conviction of aiding terrorists. Perhaps, despite his efforts, the defendant’s information never got anywhere useful.

But that, like much else said here, is pure speculation. I’d like to have more facts before succumbing to outrage.

EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT FOR 2 YEARS WE CRIED AND BID FAREWELL TO FRIENDS AND WORKERS WE GREW UP WITH.. It’s not fair to do that to people..In a Gov’t Riff you get options…But if you turn them down you are on your own.. So I got offered some crappy jobs.. A WS5 job to be a clerk for the CIA…Cause I had OE clearance From the DOD..

The irony.

My first day on LGF, in the lounge, I was chastised for not answering a question concerning jihaad in the form of that quote. It always amuses me that this inner struggle nonsense is even thrown out by “islamic scholars”.

NATO expands its role in Afghanistan
04 Apr. 2009

NATO Heads of State and Government, meeting today at the Strasbourg-Kehl Summit, agreed to a number of new initiatives for Afghanistan, including a significant expansion of the training and support effort for Afghan National Security Forces, enhanced engagement with neighbouring countries and a more integrated approach to working with the International Community and the Afghan Government to implement the Afghan National Development Strategy (ANDS).

I think it’s interesting to try to figure out why people who weren’t born into it convert to it.

Good question. I think there are many reasons why people convert.

Perhaps they are outsiders in society and Islam offers them a place to be “accepted”?

Some seek spiritual fulfillment and Islam meets that need.

Some think they are victims of repression (racial, social, etc) and some strains of Islam offer an alternative that justifies their “victimhood” fetish.

Some are just stupid MoFo’s.

Probably not - that wouldn’t be politically correct, now would it? Considering someone who chooses to join a bonafide (to the those on the left) religion as “insane” doesn’t fit with the current trend.

Think about it though - who would be attracted to a religioun that tells you killing is not only OK, it’s FANTASTIC? Or beat women or whatever - those who have urges to do such things, but don’t want to be considered crazy. In this religioun, their urges are ok, making them ok. Mr. Blonde and I have had many a late-night discussion about the nature of evil, nature vs. nurture etc. and while we both have different takes on things, neither of us understand why some people are so frigging crazy, or evil.

For me Good is something that has a vibrating quality that attracts people to good thoughts. Evil is something that brings a person to the unwholesome qualities of life. In religious terms it is engaging knowingly in sin and not caring about it. Little things can creep into large evil things.

…America’s NATO allies and partners have agreed to supply more combat troops to help shore up security during Afghan elections later this year.

More trainers have also been pledged for the police and army, and an expansion of a trust fund to help sustain Afghan security forces is in the works. Obama talked about achieving an increase in non-military assistance, such as doctors, engineers, educators and agricultural specialists.

America’s NATO allies are pledging 5,000 more troops: 3,000 for the upcoming Afghan election security, 1,400 to 2,000 troops embedded with Afghan soldiers, and 400 police trainers.

I smoke about 10 minutes a side, with the ribs sticking out of their marinade(in a large pan, charcoal grill). I then cover and cook off the coals about1 1/2 to 2 hours. When the bones are pulling loose, I add more wood chips for smoke, then move the ribs (ribs only, no pan with marinade) to the coal side to brown, checking and turning every 5 minutes-I hate burnt/overdone ribs, but love ‘em tender….:>))

I’ve done a couple gigs on CAV’s..Enterprise and the Lincoln..A night launch of an F-14 is one of the most beautiful sights ever

Got a chance to see night launches of Tomcats while on the Forrestal. We didn’t have any F-14 squadrons of our own (supposedly our JBD’s couldn’t handle ‘em…heh) but had a squadron from the Nimitz do some carrier quals during one jaunt. You’re right, it’s an incredible sight.

I beleive anyone who works for the US government in a security role of any nature that spys for a foreign country should be executed when found guilty. By its nature, the act of spying for another country or entity is an act of pre-meditated murder against citizens of your country. The information is used to defeat or kill US citizens so if a person does it, they should be executed promptly. I would also support entities like the military and the CIA cleaning their own house and not having the trial.

Is there a viable explanation for why this guy got a more lenient sentence then the Walkers (life), Pollard (life in solitary), Clayton Lonetree (30 years), or Richard Miller (life)?

NOPE,
R

Let’s not forget this guy Hall is going to receive a dishonorable discharge From Navy BuPers after he serves out his sentence ,.

Wanna bet this guy lands himself a good job and regains his future somehow with the help of the home front Jihadist movement after he gets out ?.

If thats true It’s over folks, what used to be the United States is just a country waiting to be conquered .

I hope the U.S. Marine guards cripple that butt hole in the meantime .

re: #3 Noam Sayin’

Doesn’t ‘abu’ mean “father of…”?

I always thought “abu” was Arabic for “asshole” as in Mahmoud Ridha Abbas aka Abu Mazen. Tell me Abbas isn’t an asshole.
