Coulter: Nirthers Are Just a Few ‘Cranks’

Weird • Views: 3,023

Ann Coulter brushes off the nirth certifikit kooks as just a few cranks, nothing to worry about, pay no attention, it’s the media trying to make conservatives look bad again. (Notice, however, that she turns around and throws the cranks a bone at the end.)

Youtube Video

What a lame apology.

Nobody knows exactly how many brains have been infected with the Nirther virus, but when even Rush Limbaugh is quoted at Weird Nut Drooly (aka, Nirther Central) pimping the conspiracy, this is no longer just a few kooks out there on the fringe: Limbaugh: ‘Obama has yet to prove he’s a citizen’.

On his show today, Limbaugh told listeners, “Barack Obama has yet to have to prove that he’s a citizen. All he has to do is show a birth certificate. He has yet to have to prove he’s a citizen. I have to show them 14 different ways where the h—- I am every day of the year for three years.”

Later in the show, Limbaugh showed a video of a woman criticizing Rep. Mike Castle for ignoring the birth certificate issue during a Delaware town meeting. She presented her own birth certificate, signed by a doctor, and asked why Obama hasn’t been compelled to do the same.

“The crowd went nuts,” Limbaugh noted. “There’s all kinds of stuff bubbling up out there.”

And over at Free Republic, hundreds of commenters are now convinced that Ann Coulter is a RINO and a traitor: Ann Coulter Says Obama’s Birth Certificate ‘Not an Issue’; Calls Proponents ‘Cranks’ - Video 7/25/09.

Coulter has gone over to the dark side. Her dark roots are showing.

If this is the case, then four questions:

(1) Why did Obama, and his ilk, provide a COUNTERFEIT certificate of live birth which was proven to be a fake?

(2) Why has Obama paid out SO MUCH MONEY to attorneys to SUPPRESS all actions against him to provide certification of his eligibility?

(3) Why did Obama, immediately upon entering office, sign an EXECUTIVE ORDER locking up and restricting ALL ACCESS, with a couple of exceptions to staff members, to his private birth and youth-related documents??

(4) If Obama is truly eligible, by virtue of being a naturalized citizen, to hold the office of President, simply provided the MEDIA AND THE PUBLIC with legitimate documents that put the issue to rest??

Do these sound like the actions and position of a person that does NOT have anything to hide???

There are also some anti-Nirthers there, but they’re outnumbered — and these excerpts are just from a quick look through the first page of comments.

Who knows where this craziness will end up — but it’s not going away, and it’s not just “a few cranks.” It’s a lot of cranks.

Conyers Sees No Point in Members Reading 1,000-Page Health Care Bill—Unless They Have 2 Lawyers to Interpret It for Them

(CNSNews.com) - During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Democratic Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill.

“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,’” said Conyers.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

And they wonder why we don’t trust Congress any more?

That certainly seems to be the case. Instead of going away like it should, the craziness keeps spreading, I’m seeing more and more of this crap.

I’ve said it before and it looks like I’ll be saying it again and again: the burden of proof is on you nirthers, prove the state of Hawaii lied and made up the “we have certificate of live birth for Obama in file” thing. PROVE IT!

I dislike Obama and his policies. I wanted to believe he was ineligible to run for the Presidency. But until you are able to provide evidence the state of Hawaii was making it up, or at least show an authentic Kenyan birth certificate, this is just a waste of time. Worse, it’s a waste of time that makes you and anyone who buys into it look like a crazy crank.

Hamas PM Haniyeh loses 10,000 Facebook friends

The social networking website Facebook has shut down a fan page dedicated to supporters of Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh, London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat reported on Sunday.

The page had accumulated over ten thousand “friends” when Facebook removed it, and Facebook has issued no official statement regarding the reasons for the webpage’s deletion.

A supervisor of the Haniyeh fan page told Al Hayat that he expects similar action to be taken against a related Facebook page devoted to the apparently more popular Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal who has obtained over seventeen thousand “friends.”

According to the report, “It is likely that the well known website “Facebook” is under pressure from Israel, the United States, and lobbies that are resisting the Palestinian people and movements of the Palestinian Resistance, among them Hamas.”

Well this is interesting: the woman who called 911 to report the break in at Henry Gates’ house is calling Sergeant Crowley a liar.

Attorney Wendy Murphy also categorically rejected part of the police report that said her client, Lucia Whalen, talked with Sgt. James Crowley, the arresting officer, at the scene.

“Let me be clear: She never had a conversation with Sgt. Crowley at the scene,” Murphy said. “And she never said to any police officer or to anybody ‘two black men.’ She never used the word ‘black.’ Period.”

In the police report, filed by Crowley, he says he spoke with Whalen outside the home before he approached Gates’ house.

“She went on to tell me that she observed what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the porch of Ware Street,” the report says. “She told me that her suspicions were aroused when she observed one of the men wedging his shoulder into the door as if he was trying to force entry.”

re: #83 Thanos

True, and it will probably be released today. But Crowley never made any claims about what Whalen said during the 911 call. He said that he spoke with Whalen personally, on the street, and she said then that she had witnessed two black men.

And once again: it’s incumbent upon the person making a claim like this to provide positive proof of their claim. It is NOT the responsibility of the accused to prove their innocence, nor to attempt to prove a negative - the demand made by nirthers, which is a logical impossibility.

Let’s see a Kenyan birth certificate. Then - maybe - there’ll be something to talk about. Right now, the only thing worth discussing is what kind of polish is best to use on your tinfoil hat.

Ann Coulter stopped being helpful a long time ago.

90% of what Ann says and writes is just fine. Sometimes, for whatever reason, she says or writes something that borders on insane. Of course, this is picked-up and amplified by the media to advance their own political narrative - you know, conservatives are mean, racist and spiteful people. They love to talk to her about her incendiary comments, but never about the larger, more salient point she has made.

You should read the column Ann wrote about the passing of her friend, Ron Silver. It was really moving and quite piognent. That was Ann at her best and most effective.

It’s not just some fringe nuts in the base. These are our elected officials! It’s kinda worth watching the whole thing, pretty funny and fairly well made. Kudos to Trent Frank from Arizona (at 3:20) for actually answering the question.

Big kudos for that, Killgore. The thing that cinched it for me was the same thing that Franks said. It was the birth announcement in the newspaper in Honolulu. That carried more weight with me than anything else. 0bama was born in Hawaii, period. It’s sad to watch all those congresscritters ducking the question, or equivocating, especially questions from somebody with HuffPo and FireDogLake.

For the nirther nuts to be right, Lingle and her entire administration would have to be secretly and feloniously subverted by Demo conspirators.
When asked about this, the nirthers I know just trot out their favorite conspiracy trope, blackmail from the Clinton’s illegally held FBI files. How is it possible though that not just Lingle but everyone associated with her is so corrupt as to be uniformly susceptible to this?

What’s remarkable is how many of the ‘nirthers believe the other conspiracies you named. A fair number of the hardcore ‘nirthers were 9/11 troofers, and ferverently believe the moon landings were faked, and that Oswald didn’t kill JFK. It’s fucking nuts how many of them are the same folks. These morons seriously need to be put in the psychiatric ward of a hospital.

I see this on some OT forums. There are some nirthers who are no troofers, but most troofers are nirthers on forums I read.

You know, I didnt really think too much about this until lately, but with all the money being wasted on this in this horrible economy, why doesn’t the President just show his records? I mean, there was all the outrage over Bush’s ANG records. You yourself showed how the famous memos that Dan Rather put on were fake. Congress specfically vetted McCain’s records to prove HE was a “natural-born” citizen, so why wasn’t the same thing done for Obama?

I know I can’t get a driver’s license without a birth certificate, or a SS card, or sign up my kids for sports without theirs, so I don’t see what the big deal is.

Just show it, and get it over with.

You can’t produce your “original birth certificate,” either. At best, you’ve got a certified copy provided by the state - the same thing 0 already produced. It isn’t even clear what the drooling morons are demanding - and the ambiguity is intentional, because if any document happens to be produced, they’ll just keep moving the goalposts indefinitely, claiming it wasn’t what they were asking for without actually saying what it is they want.

If the attention whores spreading this bilge have some actual evidence that 0 was born elsewhere, it’s up to them to produce it. It is NOT up to 0 to prove a negative, nor to establish his innocence against charges of any sort, least of all charges that have no foundation other than the goobery, spittle-drenched mud the nirthers keep drooling on.

Creeping (and creepy) eugenic drivel of the day, from Facebook, re the run-over whale:

Friend of friend: That ship wasn’t exactly hunting whales, it was just a’movin’ around. One might think after many, many millenia the whales would be real good at avoiding big ships. My guess is most are. This one just got naturally selected out of the Moby gene pool.

What *I’m* wondering about is the long term impact of humanity’s interference into the … Read Morenatural selection process of our own species. I mean, don’t we do everything we can to keep the weak INSIDE the gene pool??? Wonder what that means for us a hundred thousand years from now…

Anyone got Darwins great-great-great greanddaughter on speed dial?…

Cato: We haven’t had big ships for “many, many millenia (sic)”. Big ships fast enough to kill whales by accident go back maybe 150 years.

Question: If an American fails to look right in London and gets nailed by a big black taxi, is that “natural selection”? I think Darwin had a different definition in mind.

But you’re right, it would be so much better to let weak babies die on hillsides like the Spartans did. Why, without altruism and mercy buttressed by medical advances and social contracts, we’d be a race of Übermenschen by now. All the men would look like Herbert von Karajan (photographed from his good side) and we’d all marry blonde stick insects like Ann Coulter.

And weaklings like Steven Hawking would not be allowed to wed and pollute our genetic cesspool with three potentially weak children.

Eugenics and Objectivism now!

Fof: I see you’re far too hysterical for actual thinking. An interesting leap you chose to make from where I left it, in any case. It’s an interesting topic to explore for those who enjoy a good discussion, but I’m thinking you’re not necessarily one of that sort, so let’s leave it there :)

Cato: Hysterical? LOL. Let’s just say I have a really good crypto-Nazi detector. And leave it at that.

Because it might contain private family information which is none of your business. The only pertinent information is whether or not he was born in the US— and that has been established.

Then that family information can be redacted. Look at the real birth certificates from that time. They’re all over the internet.

You completely miss the point. I’m not saying it’s true or not, I’m saying “I don’t know”. And until a certificate is produced that shows the name of the doctor and the hospital, just like others at the time did, neither do you or anyone else. You’re taking someone else’s word for it, who has a vested interest. Sorry, I’m too much of a skeptic for that.

Who has a vested interest in lying about this and what is their interest in lying?

Do you admit he has shown a legal document that Hawaii, the federal government, and thus all other states see as proof of birth?

So, Charles, if it turns out to be true, will you be calling yourself a crank?

Obama must have a social security card, as he is now and was employed prior to taking office. He also has a US Passport, requiring presentation of a birth certificate.

So, if he has those things, then he has produced a birth certificate or a Certificate of Live Birth that meet the requirements for proof of citizenship.

Why don’t you get that?

Hawaii’s DOH has no mechanism for releasing information on the long form birth certificate (and this has been the case for years).

I agree with you - but we also have a responsibility to stand up, shine a bright light on the nutters in the conservative movement / GOP - and boot them out just as Buckeley did when he confronted the Birchers who were tainting conservatism 40 years ago. I wish our side (ie, non-frothing-lefty) would learn how to fight. It’s pretty evident that Obama is refusing to show the right documentation (as is his right, to the public anyway) just to watch the crazies disassemble our whole political bandwagon. It makes for great TV. Very simple, very ancient, very adroit politickin’.

And, one by one, whatever leaders we have on our side are discredited by association as they give in to the temptation to comment on this incredibly trivial issue. (Trivial in the sense that even if proven, nothing would be done about it, nada, zero, nope, not no-how.)

If there is a case to be made, take it to court, quietly, and announce it to the world after you’ve won your case in a legitimate judicial setting (if there are any left). Otherwise, nirthers/birthers/shirkers/whatevers should just shut the fv

Conspiracies have a life of their own. No evidence will stop the Nirthers. If Obama produced exactly what they demanded, the charge would be that we have people who are excellent at forging such documents who are part of the conspiracy. The goal always shifts.

I wonder how many nirthers think the troofers are foolish. Is the intersection of the nirther and troofer sets empty or large.

Is the lens through which those who believe in these things see the world make them more likely to accept any conspiracy or just conspiracies about those they do not favor?

If I must show an ORIGINAL birth certificate to get a driver’s license or a marriage license, why is my expectation that Obama show a valid ORIGINAL birth certificate to become a U.S. Senator or POTUS considered sufficient evidence to brand me nuts?

Ironic username there.

Has it occurred to you that Barack Obama probably had a driver’s license long before he was President, and that he’s married? What does that suggest to you?

Why is it incumbent on Ann Coulter to “apologize” for a bunch of idiots? If she pushed it and changed her mind that is one thing, but as far as I can tell she isn’t a nirther. I bet she doesn’t mind people nipping at Obama’s heels, though, no matter how stupid they are, as long as they are giving him grief, but it’s not her responsibility.

I don’t think Limbaugh is a nirther, as much as WND would like him to be. I think he’s criticizing Obama for failing to disarm the nutcases (as much as possible) by coughing up the long-form birth certificate.

His mother’s citizenship status is more important than that certificate. If she was an American citizen, he was a citizen, no matter where he was born.
