Blogger Chuck C. Johnson Suspended From Twitter Again For Posting Private Info

Some people never learn
Wingnuts • Views: 46,187

Yes, folks — the Ginger Avenger Chuck C. Johnson has been suspended by Twitter again for posting private information and publicly asking his followers to help him find more, just a week after his previous suspension for the same thing.

He can’t say he wasn’t warned, but he was openly defying Twitter’s rules on this issue and was apparently reported by quite a few people for it.

Stand by for the inevitable rage; last time this happened his account was restored within minutes when he promised not to do it again, but since this is his second suspension Twitter may not be as lenient this time.

OT:

People often say that same-sex marriage now is like interracial marriage in the 60s. But in terms of public opinion, same-sex marriage now is like interracial marriage in the 90s, when it had already been legal nationwide for 30 years.

While it would be hilarious if his account were banned, I don’t imagine that will actually happen. He’ll do the groveling, perhaps get a slightly longer time out, and then he’ll be back in fine form again, getting high-fives from his sycophants for having “beaten” the “trolls” again.

10 KerFuFFler  Oct 14, 2014 6:31:03am

Chucky is clearly trying to get himself shut down on Twitter so he can portray himself as an important conservative voice——-one so dangerously influential that the liberal establishment has repeatedly tried to silence him.

How many of his “followers” are people like Charles who are watching what he says because of the smears (so that they can warn people to his xenophobia, misogyny, and racist views/links, not because they agree with him?

Following him doesn’t mean they support/endorse his views, though there are plenty who do.

I’m not sure. There’s probably some measure of how egregious the infraction is. A lot of the aggressive swarming and following is fairly subjective. Twitter can monitor it but it’s probably hard to set a clear, objective limit and distinguish obviously abusive behavior from what might be innocent.

What Chuck has done here however was clearly and objectively a flagrant, recidivist flaunting of Twitter’s policy. He not only got suspended for the identical thing in the last week, but when his account was reinstated he made it 100% clear that in his opinion he was right and Twitter was wrong, and that he planned to do the same thing again. Then he did it again, and tried to hide behind pathetic pettifoggery, claiming that posting the address behind a link to his site wasn’t the same as posting it “on Twitter.”

If Twitter is stupid enough to let him back they should expect him to fuck with their rules again, and again. He clearly has no intention of conducting himself respectfully.

Morning all.

I was watching the Today show a bit this morning and they were doing a bit with Ann Romney and her new center for study of MS, Alzheimers and other neurological issues.

She was asked about all the polling that shows Mitt as the leader to run again in 2016.

She swore that is not going to happen. She was again saying we did it and it was tough and it is someone else’s turn.

Will Mitt agree, or does the desire to once again be big man in the party set him up to beg his wife to let him do it again?

She was also asked if the Republican party has a problem with women’s issues. She gave a pretty firm yes on that one. I think she said that has to change. Good luck with that Ann.

I don’t understand why people follow assholes. TweetDeck has searches, people should leave a search open if you want to see what J Random Dickbag is up to. I’ve found that’s a good way to reasonably limit my exposure to soul cancer.

Romney tried to move to the right, which a) failed to satisfy the GOP base enough to generate any enthusiasm and b) managed to scare off a lot of centrist support.

Twitter Suspends Journalist For Reporting Ahead of the Curve (Again)

“Of course when my personal address is revealed or my phone number Twitter’s @support seems unable to block the accounts,” Johnson noted. “When people threaten to kill me or have Anonymous target me, nobody seems to mind much. Fortunately I’ve got the Second Amendment to protect myself if Twitter won’t follow the First Amendment or their own rules.”

“It’s probably that loser over at Little Green Footballs,” Johnson said. “The guy has been stalking me for months for having the same name. It’s sad that Twitter has joined the censorship campaign but unsurprising. I’ve been fighting censors since I edited the high school newspaper. I’ve never lost. I’ll win this fight, too.”

“Probably”? “Journalism” at it’s finest while CCJ somehow confuses the First Amendment as having power over a private company like Twitter and provokes the Second Amendment in typical passive aggressive bloviation. Yes Chuck, I raise your Calvin Coolidge with a Warren Harding.

Speaking of Coolidge, here’s an interesting quote attributed to him that Chuck must have taken to heart…

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

re: #28 goddamnedfrank

The panel on the This Week in Tech podcast sort of covered the “Twitter has ignores its own rules” subject on Sunday.

Basically, it’s against Twitter’s own self-interest to enforce its own rules and ban people committing the most unapologetic, flagrant abuses, a la CCJ. They’re worried about growing the company and the stock market.

If Twitter starts actually banning people, it could have a negative impact on the company’s value. So when given the choice between actually standing up and doing the right thing or pretending there’s no problem, Twitter’s answer is to go hide their heads in the sand.

The whole GamerGate issue, which is touched on here by this LGF page by I Stand With Big Sodomy, is a prime example.

What I don’t get is why people aren’t looking into CCJ for violating the nurse’s privacy. This has to fall under some sort of HIPPA violation. What’s the point of having laws like this if they aren’t enforced?

As for CCJ: I rarely describe a human being as pure evil. Most people don’t fall into that category, regardless of fucked up they are.

However, this piece of shit fully qualifies at this point. Full-on sociopath; doesn’t care who he hurts as long as he gets his way.

Fired for admitting legal ownership of a gun? Now I’m just goping to guess the association can fire anyone for any reason apart from certain specific kinds of illegal discrimination. But when some ask why gun owners feel persecuted, well this goes on the list. Losing a job of 20+ years is a huge blow to anyone. Could wreck a family.

CROWN POINT | A former Lakes of the Four Seasons employee is suing the gated community’s property owners association because he claims he was illegally fired for being a gun owner.

Nino Ferlaino, who worked as a seasonal landscaping employee at LOFS for 21 years, says in a lawsuit filed Monday in Lake Circuit Court that he was confronted by a supervisor two days after he told co-workers he is a gun owner.

The supervisor, Doug Weiss, on July 2 asked Ferlaino if it was true he carried a gun, the lawsuit says. Ferlaino claims he replied he owned a gun but did not carry it on him at work.

Weiss told Ferlaino that Weiss had met with the property owners association’s board of directors July 1 and that Ferlaino’s conversation with his co-workers violated the company’s “no tolerance policy,” the lawsuit says. Ferlaino says he was fired July 2.

Nino Ferlaino, who worked as a seasonal landscaping employee at LOFS for 21 years, says in a lawsuit filed Monday in Lake Circuit Court that he was confronted by a supervisor two days after he told co-workers he is a gun owner.

Why would he tell his coworkers this? There’s something unstated here, because it’s hard to imagine how that conversation gets reported up to management unless it triggered one of the participant’s alarm bells.

Losing a job of 20+ years is a huge blow to anyone. Could wreck a family.

It was seasonal landscaping work. He can probably get on somewhere else as long as he doesn’t keep creeping people out.

For the most part is my guess.

The standard lease for residents and my fraternity’s standing rules also banned firearms (along with illegal drugs and some other things) from the fraternity house. I think that went back to a recommended standard clause that came into use back in the 1970s and thus was to be find in most of the individual chapter’s constitutions.

There was occasional dispute about individual rights being trampled on, but for the most part accepted as a reasonable limitation by the members for the general protection of the whole.

Some Good News On Ebola

First, the bad news…

[…]

But even as the outbreak metastasizes in those three countries, the WHO is preparing to declare the outbreak over in two other West African countries: Nigeria and Senegal.

Ebola was first brought to Nigeria by a sick Liberian on July 20. Nigeria’s patient zero resulted in twenty infections and eight deaths in two cities: Lagos and Port Harcourt. In late August, an infected student from Guinea brought ebola to Senegal. He survived and did not infect anyone else.

The incubation period for this ebola virus is at most 21 days. The WHO will declare an outbreak over 21 days after the last high risk exposure-which includes health care workers treating an infected patient. So, for the WHO to declare an outbreak over requires rigorous monitoring over 42 days with no new cases detected.

If no new cases emerge in Senegal, that 42 day period will be reached on Friday. And if no new cases emerge in Nigeria, the WHO will declare on Monday that the outbreak is over in Nigeria. In both instances, contact tracing, palliative care and rigorous infection controls have stopped the outbreak. This demonstrates that traditional epidemiological strategies to contain the outbreak can work, even in resource poor settings like Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. It’s just a matter of getting the resources and political to scale up the response. Therein lies the rub.

Johnny Jenkins was the original leader of the Pinetoppers. But he refused to fly on planes.

So Otis became the band leader, and eventually put together his own group.

Here’s a Johnny Jenkins cut recorded in Macon GA, in 1970.

Which is ironic, considering how Otis and most of the original Bar-Kays lineup died.

Even after Johnny Jenkins was eclipsed by Otis, Johnny remained part of the Macon R&B music scene.

The Ton-Ton Macoute! album was a tip of the hat to Johnny, as the Macon Music scene morphed from R&B to Southern Rock.

“Down Along The Cove” is a nice transition piece from 1970, highlighted by Duane Allman (who came to notice as a R&B studio musician).
