Trump’s Key Aide Stephen Miller Follows David Duke On Twitter, And “Liked” Duke’s Pizzagate Tweet

Also liked a Duke “Pizzagate” tweet made just yesterday - he’s a total whackjob.
Politics • Views: 141,924

Stephen Miller joined Trump’s campaign in January 2016, but did not gain worldwide attention until last week, as it became clear that this super-conservative 31 year old misanthrope, now a “senior advisor” to Trump, is drafting executive orders like the Muslim Ban. And he appeared on the Sunday talk shows this past weekend — pushing the ridiculous lie that millions of immigrants illegally voted in the election — earning a Trump tweet for a “great job.”

Miller has a little-noticed Twitter account, albeit a rather inactive one. In May 2016, Miller opened @StephenMillerAL (AL for Alabama — Miller worked for Alabama’s Sen. Jeff Sessions, our now Attorney General, from 2009-16. No doubt Miller helped engineer the Trump-Sessions lovefest.)

Until this past weekend Miller had made only 14 tweets, the last one being a July 31 tweet lampooning Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Miller on Trudeau

The tweet disappeared on Monday when Trudeau visited the United States, so although Miller hasn’t tweeted in over six months, he hasn’t abandoned the account.

In late December (verified via a Google cache), Miller only had 34 followers on Twitter. As of February 15, he’s gone up to 213 followers, as some people stumble across his account. In the past few days, he’s deleted 4 of his original 14 tweets (including the Trudeau tweet), and stopped following 20 accounts (going from 78 to 58).

Miller Twitter changes

If you’re going to clean up some of your problematic follows, one would think you’d stop following this guy:

Trump whisperer Stephen Miller follows David Duke

Yes, Trump aide Stephen Miller follows white supremacist David Duke. And still follows him. Indeed, in the last day he just liked a David Duke tweet referencing the Pizzagate whackjob theory about a Clinton-linked child-sex trafficking ring.

Miller likes pizzagate.

Of course Miller also still follows nuts like @RealJamesWoods and @ScottBaio — it looks like he unfollowed unhinged accounts like “DEPLORABLE DANI” (@nimblenavgater), and @nikshmatko, a Ukrainian Trump fanatic who has made marble busts of Trump and French nationalist Marine LePen.

Unlike David Duke, this guy is a true artist!

Recent reporting on Miller’s past makes it clear that he grew up to hold anti-immigrant nationalist views. Openly following David Duke on twitter (and Duke professes to liking Miller) only makes it even more clear that Miller holds anti-immigrant/white nationalist views, despite being raised Jewish himself.

And this is one of the main people influencing Trump. This is insane.

ETA 9:50am PST 2/15/17: Within minutes of this post going live, Miller just tweeted for the first time since July, a retweet of a conservative cartoonist that he follows:

UPDATE at 2/15/17 1:05:41 pm by Charles Johnson
UPDATE at 2/15/17 1:27:47 pm by Charles Johnson

Miller also “liked” a tweet by Hunter Wallace (@occdissent), who runs the white supremacist hate site Occidental Dissent.

UPDATE at 2/15/17 4:12:21 pm by Charles Johnson

The Trump administration has responded; they say this account is not really Stephen Miller’s.

However, some points:

1) Given how much lying comes out of the Trump administration, I think a little skepticism about their denial is warranted.

2) This denial is very easy to make, since the account wasn’t used very much or verified, and there’s no clear way to tie it to Miller definitively.

3) The account was created 9 months ago, long before Miller was well known, and has none of the usual signs of a parody account.

UPDATE at 2/15/17 5:57:13 pm by Charles Johnson

Whoever’s running this Twitter account deleted a retweet posted today of an ugly Ben Garrison cartoon, so the most recent tweet now showing is from July 2016. Here’s what it looked like earlier today:

And here’s what it looks like now:

Want to know why Miller looks so unsettling? Something familiarly creepy about the dead eyed expression and prematurely balding head?

Maybe because he looks like a certain hitman from Beverly Hills Cop and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul…

No wonder why Miller’s relatives are embarrassed that he’s related to them. Being a right wing ass is bad enough but being a right wing ass and Duke fan while Jewish.

The IC, specifically the CIA, is doing this at a much quicker pace than even I thought. It correlates with whenever Trump attacks the IC on Twitter… they speed up the leaks.

Chaffetz is already being attacked and impugned by his own constituents and in the local media. I would be shocked to see him last beyond June and not “resign” for some odious reason or another.

One way this plays out… if there’s even a couple molecules of integrity left is this:

Pressure mounts on Trump. Pence resigns, whether because info came out about him that causes a problem or because of an unidentified “health concern”. Congressional leadership tells Trump “this is who you’re appointing as VP, no one else will be acceptable” (it should be bipartisan, but since confirmation requires only a majority in each house, the GOP could do it on their own). New untainted VP is sworn in. Trump is impeached and removed. Untainted VP becomes president, vows not to run in 2020, replaces entire cabinet.

I just mean within the context of the Russian issue. I really do think, though, if this scenario plays out, the key will be the new VP/President agreeing not to run in 2020 (since they will have served more than half of Trump’s term, they’d only be eligible to run once on their own).

NY AG being asked to bring action to investigate and sue to dissolve Trump Inc. for illegal practices and emolument violations.

Non-profit advocacy group Free Speech for People has asked New York’s attorney general to investigate whether to file a lawsuit to revoke the charter of The Trump Organization for violating state business laws.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the group and four attorneys said that the attorney general’s office has the power to revoke the corporate charter from Trump’s organization, which has violated laws that prohibit the president from receiving payments from foreign governments.

Schneiderman’s press secretary Amy Spitalnick told ThinkProgress that the attorney general’s office will review the letter.

This lawsuit, known as a “Quo Warranto” proceeding, would allow a judge to determine whether the corporation is a conduit for illegal activity.

Ah, the old exploring different viewpoints BS.

I can track white supremacists and neo Nazis without actually following them, liking them on Twitter, retweeting them, or otherwise hearting them.

These fuckers have let their hate flow, and Trump’s win is the prime reason we’re seeing all of these fuckers coming out of the woodwork. They’ve been there all along, but hiding in the shadows. Trump, Bannon, Miller, and all the rest showed that being a bigot, let alone a white supremacist, isn’t a barrier.

That whole speech about the sinking of the Indianapolis was done over a phone completely off the cuff from John Milius to Spielberg. Milius is a right wing crank but the guy had fucking genius for coming up with dialogue.

And, even though the account in Shaw’s Indianapolis speech isn’t entirely accurate with what we know now, particularly the number of sailors lost to shark attacks between the sinking and the rescue, Milius’ dialogue and Shaw’s delivery is haunting as fuck…definitely one of my favorite movie scenes.

These sources spoke on condition that they not be identified because they were not formally authorized to disclose the information. While Newsweek was told which allied nations intercepted the communications and are gathering intelligence on Trump associates, the sources did so on condition that the countries not be identified out of concern those governments would incur the president’s wrath.

The Western European intelligence operations began in August, after the British government obtained information that people acting on behalf of Russia were in contact with members of the Trump campaign. Those details from the British were widely shared among the NATO allies in Europe. The Baltic nation has been gathering intelligence for at least that long, and has conducted surveillance of executives from the Trump Organization who were traveling in Europe.

These operations reflect a serious breakdown in the long-standing faith in the direction of American policy by some of the country’s most important allies. Worse, the United States is now in a situation that may be unprecedented—where European governments know more about what is going on in the executive branch than any elected American official. To date, the Republican-controlled Congress has declined to conduct hearings to investigate the links between Trump’s overseas business partners and foreign governments, or the activities between Russia and officials in the Trump campaign and administration—the very areas being examined by the intelligence services of at least two American allies.

Some details about Trump’s business partners were passed to the American government months ago. For example, long before the president’s inauguration, German electronic surveillance determined that the father of Trump’s Azerbaijani business partner is a government official who laundered money for the Iranian military; that information was shared with the CIA, according to a European source with direct knowledge of the situation.

That holds true for any rally. But protests must continue. We literally have no other voice. Dems cannot do anything, they are in the minority. Trump finally turned the comment line back on, and I am sure no one cares what is said. Petitions on wh. gov? Ignored.

I agree with MsJ.

Trump is a malignant narcissist and he has a pathological need for adulation. All relationships are transactional. If you are not giving him the respect and attention he needs, than you are denying it or even worse: you are taking respect from him and insulting him. He famously brags about how he plots to get even with people who insult him.

After a month in the WH, Trump is in a serious deficit of positive attention. He is being mocked daily. Hundreds of leaks paint him as pathetic and wandering the WH at night in darkened corridors with his Blackberry.

He needs a hit…a fix…whatever. He has to have his crowd telling him everything is great and to go punish all of his enemies.

It is pathlogical codependency on a national scale.

That holds true for any rally. But protests must continue. We literally have no other voice. Dems cannot do anything, they are in the minority. Trump finally turned the comment line back on, and I am sure no one cares what is said. Petitions on wh. gov? Ignored.

There is no other voice. This is our only voice. And when we lose that, the fascists win.

I agree that we need to keep protesting, loudly and visibly. What I don’t trust is why that particular account is directing folks to this one specific event. Have they previously encouraged protest in general, or suggested that protestors target other events? What’s in it for whoever is running the account?

But for sure, Trump owns the news, with all sorts of bad attention.

Yet the theo-fascists don’t seem to care. They are fully bought into the Trump narrative.

And the usual suspects, like Reps. King and Rohrbacher, will do their best to abet Trump in destruction of responsible and reasonable governance, all in the name of the Je$u$.

Sad that during my lifetime the US has taken such a giant step backwards. I am not totally surprised though, as I realized long ago when battling with creationists that the modern world is just too much for some people. They don’t want it, and they’re going to burn it down.

The EPA protects minorities. No wonder the GOP wants to eliminate it.

Around the feedlots, Muhammad said people complained of headaches, burning eyes and runny noses, respiratory illnesses, and stress. Those who drew water from shallow wells complained of its bad smell and taste, and air samples captured higher foul-smelling hydrogen sulfide in the air.

“This has been on everybody’s radar screen since the industry started coming into the state,” Muhammad said. “People started seeing the changes, documenting the changes, reporting the changes, and nothing changed.”

Meanwhile, she said, students at UNC’s public health school matched permits issued by DENR to addresses on a map. The sites were all located in minority communities, “and you can see that on a map without a doubt.”

That’s how it is with every single “nuisance” business operation.
Back in the 1980s a representative from Waste Management in Illinois flat out told me that landfills were sited in poor areas because the upper classes wouldn’t stand to have anything like that anywhere near their neighborhoods.
Much like how the DAPL pipeline got rerouted away from its original route near white neighborhoods onto Native lands.

Yep. He’s railed about neo-Nazis supplanting his own message by editing in anti-semitic faces on his art. The thing is, that is the ONLY thing they have changed - everything else in the artwork is unchanged, and Garrison has repeatedly dogwhistled racist messages in his cartoons, and during the 2016 campaign had alt-right images and messages all over the place. Hard to say. All you have to go on is what an anonymous person reports and whether it conforms to things that should be accurate for the place described.

The descriptions of Trump and Bannon etc sound credible and they within parameters of previous conduct.

Now, that could be extrapolated by somebody with a good sense of story telling and who has paid attention and has some knowledge of Washington workings. That would be thousands of people.

It remains true that Trump, even president Trump, is merely a symptom of the underlying problem of the total corruption of the Republican party. The GOP has become a cesspit of willful ignorance and bigotry that will continue to excrete abominations like Trump until it is radically reformed (which is an impossible dream at the moment).

Nothing that Trump has done in office is a surprise, so his voters own all this shit, and those who stood aside or voted 3rd party also share the blame.

I would agree, accept that it would be first step in authenticating who is leaking. IE anybody could send info to the NYT leak line and claim to be whatever. Establishing provenance on twitter would at least tell you who a source was in the future on the secure line if that route is used. That doesn’t prove that the leak is actually genuine in the first place, but it still establishes that your source is a particular account on twitter and not somebody else entirely.

It is a fact of political life that Republicans can win where their only message is “Democrats are evil”, while Democrats who run on “Republicans are evil” usually fail.

IMO, the Democrats really missed an opportunity after the crash of 2008. Just about everyone thinks the banks got away with all kinds of criminal behavior, whether or not it was technically illegal.

So the response should have been twofold:

1) Prosecute any actual violations of the laws (surely the prohibitions on fraud are broad enough to at least get a few criminal investigations launched).

2) If, as likely, it turns out that the laws are written precisely to make most or all of the banks’ misbehavior legal, rake bank executives over the coals in Congressional hearings as part of an effort to drum up support for reform of applicable law.

See Pecora hearings after the crash of 1929 for an example of how it’s done. This is not hard.

Trump is clearly a special case, but the casual acceptance of IOKIYAR among Republicans is already a formidable obstacle to reasoning and rational persuasion.

Taking ‘party over country’ to the extremes that Republicans do is setting the US up for a civil war.

If the IC leaks incriminate the entire GOP House and Senate leadership, and they still go ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, the result could be even worse than that.

Republicans are the villains. That is the message we need to get out. Didn’t we hear BANKS and WALL STREET through Bernie all the damned time? What did that get us? There was nothing to prosecute banks for. We need laws and that comes from congress. We didn’t prosecute most people we often call “evil” because there was nothing to prosecute them for.

I am not a fan.

One reason I’m especially leery of anonymous insiders tweeting/blogging directly to the public - back during the Obama Administration, there was some clown claiming to be in insider in the White House, who told all sorts of stories that went pretty much exactly as wingnuts would dream they would, like Panetta and Clinton locking Obama in a bathroom while they ran the ObL raid without him, because he couldn’t bring himself to have ObL killed.

I saw wingnuts on my Old Stomping Grounds eat it up, because it was exactly what they wanted to believe. I watched as they went from mildly skeptical to ardent believers in these blog posts as their confirmation bias overrode any critical thinking.

That’s why I’ll stick with reports from actual journalists. Anonymous sources are not anonymous to the journalist. They know who they are, and can confirm what their actual job is.

The thing is, these days you really don’t need to follow an anonymous alleged insider. Stories with the most jaw-dropping details have multiple sources. This Administration leaks like a bullet-riddled cartoon character.

But Sanders himself yeah he should know better. He’s been around. I also didn’t like how Sanders planned to respond when he encountered difficulty with Congress as president- “We’d have rallies to protest.” Uh no Bernie, your job as President would be to try to persuade them. I liked Sanders at first but I began to quickly see why when it was clear teh race would be him against Hillary, nearly every including many quite progressive lawmakers lined up behind her.

The account I mentioned above is interesting from more of an ‘anthropological’ POV in that it is daily “what the fuck am I seeing?” and gripes about toxic office politics. Trump will breathlessly talk about how his tax plan will be awesome and hurt HR Block.

Reality will be so different, because unless you’re eliminating all the credits, deductions, and exclusions, plus having the IRS send you a filled out return that you then modify, none of this will happen. You’ll still need a tax professional to do your taxes (or use tax prep software). Cutting the number of brackets doesn’t change complexity. Reducing rates wont do it either.

Even getting rid of the AMT wont completely solve things easier, but it would make it easier/cheaper for rich people to do their returns. And they’ll end up paying a lot less too.

Let’s suppose all that shit done by the bankers really was legal. If so, there should have been Congressional hearings where bank executives were obliged to go on record with what they did and exactly how it was legal. That’s the way to generate public pressure for banking law reform. This kind of PR stunt is why we even have an SEC now.

As a result of the Pecora Commission’s findings, the United States Congress passed the Glass-Steagall Banking Act of 1933 to separate commercial and investment banking, the Securities Act of 1933 to set penalties for filing false information about stock offerings, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, which formed the SEC, to regulate the stock exchanges.

The only way that H&R Block would be upset with Trump is if he retroactively changes the tax code at sometime in mid-March that would require a complete re-write of their software and forcing thousands of people to file amended returns.

Worked for a professional tax software company about a little over a decade ago, and remember none too fondly when the GW Bush administration did this in early 2002 as a response to 9/11 attacks. Accountants back then lost a lot of income due to the number of non-billable hours of work that incurred for them.

Speaking of BB players, no doubt as an Austin guy, you remember it being erported that Kevin Durant had really shockingly low numbers in his bench pressing ability. But yeah I like basketball players and coaches more than I do football players and coaches typically. One of my favorite coaches and honestly one of my inspirations for how I coach is Gregg Popovich. It’s a good point. CPA’s are consultants, basically, and live and die by billable hours. When you change the rules just before a filing deadline, you cost consultants money.

This. I am wondering why in the hell ANG A-10’s have not been all over that spy ship.

We use Predators for that now. I guarantee that if one is in the eastern US, it is watching that boat very closely. Groton is home port to swarmers (hunter/killers) not boomers (ICBM/Cruise Missile subs). Which is odd. If I was worried about fallout about the election diddling, I’d have a boat down in southernmost Georgia, where we’ve got our boomers homeported.

Buzzing the hell out of an unwelcome guest with tactical fighters delivers a much stronger message than watching a drone on radar.

BTW…the Russians buzzed one of our warships only a couple of days ago.

It’s too early for Russian jets to be flying supersonic at low altitude over Washington DC. Trump & Co. need to be give more time for their demolition activities. For now letting the world know that a Russian spy boat is operating with impunity is sufficient for Putin’s plans.

King’s Bay. I lived in Brunswick, Georgia for years…just a few miles up the coast. Probably within outer blast radius of an airburst nuke.

The only crowds he’s going to see are those protesting. He’ll be lucky to get 100-1 supporters. His “supporters” either know someone who’s getting fucked by him or think he’s being a cuck for: backing down on China, saying something nice about Jews, or one of the zillion other things he lied about.

There is an even more concerning piece of this to me. That boat isn’t just sitting off the coast for purposes of sightseeing the shoreline of our east coast. It is a very very safe bet that it is in communication with someone(s) in an attempt to avoid NSA eavesdropping. Narrow-beam transmissions without knowing the point of origin would be nearly impossible to track.

This is absolutely unconscionable. The chilling effect simply can’t be overstated, this is going to make people less willing to cooperate with the police, whether it be to report a crime, or to find sanctuary from an abuser, and giving perpetrators a massive Damocles Sword over their heads because of the threat of being rounded up right outside the goddamn police department. This helps no one but the monsters.

That ICE employee should know full well that the US welcomes such people to work with them to arrest and prosecute the abuser. The victim is protected and put on a track to citizenship —that is the deal. IT’S VERY IMPORTANT because those that bring (mostly) women into this country are often abusers/rapists.

They threaten the women with their kids —“do as I say, don’t tell, whatever OR I’ll send you back to mexico and keep the kids”

These (mostly) women do not often know the language, do not know they have rights, and live horrible lives.

The old world customs of many hispanics are very real—men will go South of the border specifically to find a cowering women who will literally spoon feed them at mealtime.

Worse, Tony Podesta worked with Yanukovich too. They’re everywhere!//

Working on behalf of the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine, the Podesta Group lobbied in Washington for positions favored by the pro-Russian political party, of which deposed former President Viktor Yanukovych was a member. The lobbying work ended in 2014 after Yanukovych fled Ukraine for Russia, where he remains in exile.
