I didn’t read the whole transcript of Comey’s interview with George Stuffinenvelopes, but I read the part about the Pinot Noir in the paper cup. That was right after Comey had the thought of doing something he’s never done: drive across the whole country. Hell, I’ve done that. He was allowed to fly in the plane because somebody decided he needed to be protected.

This morning, Breitbart deputy political editor Amanda House brought on Breitbart’s gun columnist AWR Hawkins to discuss Dick’s decision to destroy the firearms, which Hawkins said was “one of the best proofs ever that liberalism is a mental illness.” Hawkins explained that properly destroying and disposing of weapons was costly and tedious, and suggested that Dick’s instead give the unsold assault-style rifles to low-income communities.
“If this group wanted to do something that would make them look good, Dick’s, I said what they should have done is donated these guns to the poor and let the poor use these guns for self-defense,” Hawkins said. “But see, that’s how a conservative thinks.”

Very interesting interview. Colbert is an excellent interviewer. He kept on point, kept after weak points in Comey’s thoughts, and got more information out than any of the cretins on CNN or the other terrible talking head shows.
Comey was good when talking about things he knows he has good moral standing on, ie. the bad character and failings of the president. When talking about the Clinton stuff, part of him seems to know that he’s just trying to justify his own biases - like most people in the world, he just knows that Hillary Clinton is shady, so must be scrutinised far more closely than anyone else, even obvious criminals, in the same position. He came across as weak, dismissive, and sanctimonious.

In one of his now many interviews, I heard him say that he didn’t bring up Trump and Russia because it was so early and they didn’t have confirmed details that would allow him to make such a confirmation. Where in Hillary and Anthony Weiner’s emails they had facts to deal with.
The problem is he didn’t need to do either address to the nation regarding Hillary’s emails. He could have done a recommendation on Hillary’s emails to the Justice Department and let them decide what to do. And, he hadn’t yet looked into the Weiner computer to see the emails were duplicates of what they already had.
But he just had to throw his big ol’ feet into it all.

Milwaukee civil rights leader Vel Phillips—whose life was marked by shattering glass ceilings and tireless activism—died Tuesday evening at the age of 94.
Phillips was a pioneer, a giant among her people, recognized for the work she did for civil and human rights across Milwaukee and Wisconsin as a whole, Fox6Now notes.
She was the first black woman to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Law School back in 1951. In 1956 Phillips became the first woman and the first African American to sit on Milwaukee’s City Council and would remain alone in those accomplishments for years.

We don’t know for sure how the “b” letter was pronounced in ancient Greek, but there are a few indications from literature: Aristophanes, for example, when writing down the sound of sheep, spells it “bê, bê”, which in modern Greek would read as “vee, vee”. Given how sheep actually sound, it was more probably pronounced “baa, baa”…
The phonetic evolution from “b” to “v” (and in reverse) is very common in the history of languages. See how “v” in Spanish is pronounced “b” as in “cuervos” (French “corbeau”).

I’d bet a lot of small to medium size business would love to let a government agency handle health insurance for their employees-even if it meant writing a check to Uncle Sam. Getting a decent plan (or two, if the employees get a choice) is a major headache for smaller employers. Or so I hear.

So, Monday I went to the rental office to submit a maintenance request for my non-functioning A/C and the serious leak above my back door.
After hearing nothing, today I went to the complex maintenance web page & entered the request again. Check the little box that stated that if the problem (leak) wasn’t repaired soon it would likely damage the building of possessions (reasonably truthful).
Maybe 2 hrs later I got a knock at the door. (even though I requested they contact me before coming over) to address the leak. As I expected, got the “yeah, that’s gotta get fixed, in the long run. Said they’ll get with contractors who removed/replaced railing to see about patching.
As the Maint. guy was about to leave told him I also have the A/C problem request in. So, he decided to look at it. Determined problem was likely with the compressor outside, called an assist from another guy on staff, replaced capacitor, A/C running fine.
Hilarious thing happens during all this. Background, they just installed wrap around cedar railings/enclosures on all 1st floor units porches. So, as the first guy is checking the A/C initially, there’s this other guy tearing down the brand new railings a couple units down. Apparently someone decided that cutting off 1st floor residents access to the area along the river our porches face wasn’t a good rental aspect. After all the railings had been installed.
If we hadn’t been out there while the guy was removing the railings it could have been worse too. I stopped him from trying to hammer off a strut that was attached to the building with three bolts. Now that would have done some serious damage.

Turning on him implies that Cohen has evidence that Trump committed a crime or evidence that could be used to prove a crime. In either of those two cases, “attorney-client privilege” goes out the window as it cannot be used to cover up evidence of a crime.

Point of Interest: The Nobel Prize for Economics isn’t a real Nobel Prize. Unlike all the other prizes it was not created by Alfred Nobel’s Last Will and Testament. She is on Hannity nearly every day, and used to work for Circa News, which is owned by Sinclair. Yeah, there seems to be a disconnect between “Trump and Cohen did nothing illegal, there’s nothing there that amounts to a crime” and “Cohen would never turn on Trump!” If nothing illegal happened, then there’s nothing to turn against Trump. Turning on him implies that Cohen has evidence that Trump committed a crime or evidence that could be used to prove a crime. In either of those two cases, “attorney-client privilege” goes out the window as it cannot be used to cover up evidence of a crime.

And they had latched into the stupid email server and there was no way to placate them. There was no way to protect the reputation of the FBI. If they and their followers decide something is true, nothing can swerve them.
I wish I could bold and highlight this: We cannot, cannot make decisions anywhere, ever, based on what the right wing media and their minions might think or do. Ever. Full stop.
So, I see Comey getting caught up in the court of public opinion. He still doesn’t understand he was never going to win.

Even if they are wrong, they are right enough that they must be a major factor in all public statements and decisions. Political campaigns, media coverage, financial decisions, all operate from this basic tenet - middle class white people must be okay with what we are doing. If not, we must change it.
Comey felt the same way - millions of ‘Americans’ (ie. middle class white people like me) are going to be angry if Hillary Clinton wins, and then they’ll accuse the FBI of being complicit if we don’t publicly pander to their biases by making it look like we’re investigating her as hard as possible, whether there’s anything there or not. It didn’t hurt that he also had similar biases.
Unfortunately, in 2018, middle class white people in America have become evil monsters. They have become a cult, corrupted by their saturated media environment. But all of the powers that be in America continue to operate from the basic assumption that these people are always right, even when they are wrong.

Comey did indeed fuck up with his actions during October 2016 - with the Clinton letter and refusing to acknowledge that Trump was simultaneously also under investigation.
Whether that was part of the NY office fuckery or not is irrelevant at this point.
It was Comey’s bad judgment that helped get us to this point.
But bad judgment isn’t the same as telling truth or lying about what Trump said or didn’t say.
He could have screwed Clinton and still be truthful about Trump’s actions during their meetings.

I respectfully disagree about Comey’s motivations. If you’re inclined, the book is a good read and sheds light on his background and history, beliefs, and actions. Russia moved their fleet of ships out of Syrian port days before.
The raid came on a predictable day/time.
Russia likely tipped off Syria so that no one was in the targeted buildings at the time.
Churning rubble isn’t success. Assad’s key people were safe and sound elsewhere.
Russia did what they usually do - help Assad get the compromising evidence out of the area and block investigators just long enough to sanitize things.
Trump played along with all this.

We don’t know for sure how the “b” letter was pronounced in ancient Greek, but there are a few indications from literature: Aristophanes, for example, when writing down the sound of sheep, spells it “bê, bê”, which in modern Greek would read as “vee, vee”.
