Fox News is laying the groundwork for conspiracy theories about Joe Biden’s health
Fox News spent 2016 pushing unfounded rumors that Hillary Clinton was hiding serious health problems, and it’s gearing up to do the same to former Vice President Joe Biden. Fox News hosts—Sean Hannity and Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery in particular—have repeatedly speculated about Biden’s health, the Daily Beast reports.
Biden “does look very tired,” Kennedy said last week. “Joe Biden’s tired,” Hannity said the same night. “He does not have the energy for this. He’s not up for this challenge. They’re already hiding him like they hid Hillary. They don’t want him out there.” Kennedy has twice invoked Clinton’s “overcoat,” the conservative theory that a picture showing Clinton with a slight bulge on the back of a jacket was evidence she was hiding a defibrillator (rather than the much more likely explanation that it was wireless audio equipment). And she’s claimed that “He is much more like Hillary Clinton, because if you talk to Democrats, who are working for different campaigns, all of the aggressive gossip whisperers—and this is where the action is happening in terms of opposition research—it’s people having a few drinks at a bar and whispering, ‘You know there is something wrong with the former vice president.’” Because if there’s one person who’s tied in to Democratic gossip networks, it’s a Fox News host.
They’re laying the groundwork here to make this a major conspiracy theory should Biden win the Democratic nomination. And no, Fox viewers won’t notice that it’s the exact same play as Hannity and friends ran on Clinton in 2016, or that she remains healthy, let alone consider what they would say about the health of a Democrat who looked, sounded, and behaved like Donald Trump.

I posted a link to the Guardian article about their discussions with people in Pennsylvania’s Northampton County which swung sharply to Trump in 2016 and they still love him. Even people being hurt by him still back him because they love seeing him smack down colored people.

Was listening to Lawrence this evening while driving home; he had the 1974 speech by Republican Congressman M. Caldwell Butler announcing his support for the impeachment of Nixon. It was a very powerful statement; Butler stood for the rule of law and country over party. If you’ve never smoked it, you can eat it! Edibles are clearly marked for cannabis content in Colorado, by the milligram. Rule of thumb is if you don’t want the walls to melt like when Maureen Dowd ate a whole pot brownie (she never reported *exactly what* she ate, but from her description she ate a brownie that had in excess of 200 mg of cannabis) is start off with 10 to 30 mg, wait a few hours, and adjust dosage from there.
Then again I’ve eaten pot cookies that keep me stoned/baked/blazed/ for hours on end. I didn’t buy those cookies in a store. 😎

Any biologist will tell you that life does not “begin.” That’s a religious concept not a scientific one. Humans like all other living organisms have an unbroken cycle of life stretching back billions of years to the dawn of life on earth.
Humans like other mammals simply have two life stages in their cycle. The haploid stage (sperm and eggs) and the diploid stage (adult humans). Other organisms have 3 or 4 different stages in their life cycle such as insects (egg, larva, adult).
By any scientific definition, sperm and eggs are alive and human life never “begins” it is an endless cycle of life.
As for chance, we are of course all the consequence of billions of possible random combinations of sperm and eggs. Had our parents mated in the slightest different way or copulated 0.01 seconds earlier or later a different individual would have resulted.
Life is a continuum…cells are alive, no?…don’t you worry about the personhood of all that sperm you unload on a regular basis…? That and pushing them on how they want the state to murder women who have abortions.
For the record, I was not a nice person yesterday. I dropped several F-bombs (F OFF) when the pastor brought up Hitler as an example of secular law gone awry. I’m sorry, but that’s not even an argument. I also told a woman who told me she would pray for my salvation that she should pray that she not be an asshat. What annoys me about this is the following. Maybe it’s the unofficial decorum required in a congressional hearing, but Stewart should make very clear who is holding up this bill. He should be railing against that. Not some nebulous Congress. Back in the 1990s, when I lived in Utah, Utah county prosecuted a guy for renting “hard R” movies put of the back of his video places. It went to the jury and *one guy* hung the jury, saying he could not judge whether the videos violated community standards.
The county put the defendant on trial again, and this time he had to go with appointed counsel since the first trial had bankrupted him. The attorney was a devout but savvy Mormon. He subpoenaed lists of what was showing on the pay per view at the upscale hotels near BYU. Voila! The hotels also served up “hard R” movies for rental. The defendant was acquitted.
I gave water to migrants crossing the Arizona desert. They charged me with a felony.

As far as I can tell, none of those who proclaim themselves pro-life and demonstrate at planned parenthood clinics also supported Scott Warren. It seems that there is practically no overlap between those who care about the fetus and those who care about immigrants.

Some needs to ask her what she thinks she can get done. Obama got two, the economy and health care. And McConnell is setting up the courts to act just like the ones FDR had to deal with.
Unlike the FDR era, a Democratic president with party control of the senate will do away with the procedural filibuster and then do a reduction in force on the federal courts, obliterating Trump’s picks. It will be nasty, but necessary. The country collectively isn’t going to sit by for 40 years waiting for a court change, when the popular will of the people was for Clinton to be president.

So to prop up their religion, and their religion’s dominance in society, they have to be anti-abortion. Because if they admit that a zygote does not magically get imbued with a “soul”, and if they give up the idea that each person was individually “knit together” (as in the famous psalm) by God… then they have a hard time ever arguing for a soul or for being special in the eyes of their God.
Anti-abortionism rose to prominence (in the late 1970’s) once the anti-evolutionists (who are mostly the same group as the anti-abortionists) started to realize how big they were failing in controlling education. That is not just a coincidence.

Well, it will take a couple of centuries for sea level rise to force millions of Floridians elsewhere. I expect the populations to move the shortest distance possible, probably to places like Georgia, whose own coastal cities will be swamped too but there is plenty of land in the hinterland.
And we can’t assume what the US will be like in a century or so. If Trump has shown us anything, it is that the US is not immune to self-harming atavism.
