This is my new video of my second digital single album

I expressed a doll tied to a thread, dancing to the music.
It seems to move happily as people control, but on the contrary, It wants to escape from the strings that control Itself and be free.
But at the end of the music, it finally fails.
I played it imagining a doll’s heart, seemingly unable to recognize its facial expression, possibly forced to dance in front of the audience, all the time.

It’s becoming more and more difficult to watch talking heads on cable news reporting Trump’s activities from some mental no man’s land in which they feel unaffected by the corruption. At least the late night comedians act like they have some skin in the game.

To continue from the last thread, the (made for tv) movie that really messed me up as a kid was Sssssss. There were a number of those movies that were kind of disturbing. There was the one with tarantulas that had William Shatner in it. There was the one where the family gets brainwashed by having their eyes forced open for a really long time.

Not quite sure you answered his question, but I let my middle son read a couple of the Incarnations. Death and Time I thought were pretty good. I never finished all of them, though.

I read Pet Semetary and The Hajj in the eighth grade. I might have read some equivalent books earlier, but I don’t remember. We didn’t have a lot of books.

The local DSA is complaining about the new ballot design for Los Angeles County where there are two columns containing all the candidates running for the Democratic nomination. They’re upset that people won’t find Bernie and that the ballot has been “deliberately designed” to reduce Bernie votes.

On my sample ballot, Bernie is at the top of the second column but Elizabeth is at the very end of that same column.

Get ready for another round of “rigged primaries” from the sore losers!

Yes.

US media stories follow a manufactured narrative. Sometimes certain individuals can take over that narrative, but by and large the narrative is determined by editorial choice. And the few people that make those choices subscribe to a certain view of American culture, which they shape deliberately through the influence of their media platforms. That culture is not one where a liberal woman can gain power.

Commentators like Meyers, Oliver and Colbert and Bee are the only ones I can watch. I do not laugh much, but at least I feel that in their satirical, over-the-top way, they actually have a more rational and objective approach to what is going on.

He has a fair chance. That being said, the economic impact from the Wuhan Coronavirus is just starting to be felt.

If the situation continues to deteriorate, we could well see a global economic recession by this summer…..just in time for the 2020 elections. Just yesterday, Apple warned that it won’t be able to meet quarterly guidance due to the 2019-nCoV outbreak and manufacturers worldwide are starting to make noises that supply chains are gonna break down real soon.

That being said, I don’t doubt the Fed will engage in some pretty serious quantitative easing in order to juice the economy and that guess on my part is probably why Wall Street keeps going up and up - they think the Fed will stop at nothing to keep the party going. All of the QE in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, while understandable, has created a gigantic moral hazard. Realistically, markets should be reacting to this news. There seems to be a massive disconnect between Wall Street traders and basic economic reality - it’s more than just algorithms at play.

Not just instant availability, but cost as well.

For example, I could likely never afford the desktop computer I’m using if the components weren’t made in China; that’s just a sad reality. Nor could I afford my mobile phone if weren’t (almost entirely) made in China.

Unless governments are willing to subsidize the costs to consumers for non-Chinese-made products, China is going to be the world’s factory for the foreseeable future.

And of course, there are those who would say, “Well, you don’t really need Product XYZ” - which is the same as telling people, “Well, guess you just can’t have nice things, sorry about that”.

Good luck to those folks….though I think they might find themselves a little bewildered when they find themselves the guests of honor at an impromptu “necktie party”.

yunno, if we were competing with China entirely on wages, then I guess that would be okay, it would be our incentive to work more efficiently.

But we are doing that: the US and Europe have some of the world’s most productive workforces. So why are real wages in decline?

We are also competing with nations like China over health, safety and environmental costs, which are very low in places like China as such regulations are a lot more lax if they exist at all, and then if they are even enforced.

So not only are we shooting ourselves in the foot, we are giving those nations zero incentive to clean up their own act.

My guess is that with the entire GOP and rightwing media, Romney excepted, clearing him of serious wrongdoing and an election coming up, Republican voters are putting their misgivings aside. Trump still has the worst net approval at this point of his presidency of any President since Truman, so he has a tough hill to climb to achieve reelection.

The entire right wing has not “cleared him” of anything in reality because they are not concerned with his actions at all. They could care less because they consider themselves in an active war against 98% of the world, its modernity, and the majority “liberal” population in America in particular.

The right wing in this country consider themselves soldiers in a holy war demanding absolute allegiance no matter the actions of their commander. Trump’s actions do not matter just as long as they do not diminish the red line of White Supremacism. They have told me so in no uncertain terms and they are not afraid anymore of revealing their intentions and beliefs. All you really have to do is ask them directly.

Waking up this morning, I more and more get the feeling that Bernie is really messing up this election.

There is a fundamental problem with Bernie and his followers - they’re not able to accept the dangers of the effect they have as a minority in this society while trying to pretend they are a majority.

This is where election problems begin - not accepting that other people are never going to vote for you.

He has a fair chance. That being said, the economic impact from the Wuhan Coronavirus is just starting to be felt.

If the situation continues to deteriorate, we could well see a global economic recession by this summer…..just in time for the 2020 elections. Just yesterday, Apple warned that it won’t be able to meet quarterly guidance due to the 2019-nCoV outbreak and manufacturers worldwide are starting to make noises that supply chains are gonna break down real soon.

That being said, I don’t doubt the Fed will engage in some pretty serious quantitative easing in order to juice the economy and that guess on my part is probably why Wall Street keeps going up and up - they think the Fed will stop at nothing to keep the party going. All of the QE in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, while understandable, has created a gigantic moral hazard. Realistically, markets should be reacting to this news. There seems to be a massive disconnect between Wall Street traders and basic economic reality - it’s more than just algorithms at play.

It’s early 1929 all over again. The crash is coming.

Yeah no doubt about that. Our interests aren’t the same. That’s what infuriates me about Trump’s stupid “Wouldn’t it be nice if we were friends with Russia?” We got along best with Russia, well the USSR actually during WWII and that was a marriage of convenience for both of us despite FDR’s “Uncle Joe” naivete. Running NYC is a higher profile position than most and he represented more people and a more diverse population in NYC than in 37 of the 50 states (8.1 million).

Of course, that comes with all the scandals and problems - stop and frisk, his comments about policing, race, and other assorted views. All of that should be vetted and rightfully so.

But there’s a reason that he’s rising in the polls - he’s also willing to attack Trump early and often, and defeating Trump should be job 1. Attacking other candidates is secondary but in a crowded field, the only way to distinguish in a crowded field is to go after others, especially when the differences in policies are granular and don’t really matter when you go into a general election and still face a Senate that is GOP controlled.

Problems to address:
1. win the WH
1a. overcome media messaging (and this applies to everything from how women in the race are represented to ignoring Bernie’s health issues to minorities and who would best protect their rights while media plays their narrative games, etc.)
2. retake the Senate
3. expand control in House

I know you know baseball like I do. The media is talking about this whole goddamned thing like the game’s over after a leadoff double. I’m really disappointed with how things turned out. From a purely economic point of view, yes, the oil embargo is something we had a chance to recover from but refused to do.

But 2001 saw us the victors of the Cold War and undisputed leader of the Free World, Russia was a wreck and China was only just starting to flex its economic muscle.

I wanted to play football when I was a freshman in high school. In hindsight, a bad idea for a lot of reasons but anyhow. We knew heart conditions ran in my family since my mom’s father had a murmur. I got my heart looked at and I got diagnosed with hypertrophic cardio myopathyahy. Cardiologist was adamant that I shouldn’t play football. I did not. If you’re not familiar with that condition, it’s the one that you read about athletes getting posthumously diagnosed with it. when they suddenly have a heart attack on the court or whatever.

Anyhow this gets back to Bernie. He’s a man who turns 80 next year and would be 80+ for his entire presidency and he’s had a heart attack. I don’t think too highly of Bloomberg but there’s a difference between an irregular heartbeat and a heart attack and Sanders would be in a stressful job especially for him since he wants to fundamentally change a lot of our government system. And he’s not the best at delegating either.

So yeah I’ve had it with how the Bernie campaign acts like the Trump campaign more than any other campaign in the Democratic race. They are dishonest. They deflect. And honestly it feels almost like they want to make Bernie into a martyr by continuing to trot him out with his known heart issues. The young people supporting Bernie are quite honestly being morons and I could be a lot meaner than that.

Bernie is a left wing Trump at this point. I’m going to really be disappointed in our system if it comes down to him nad Trump. I don’t like a lot of the things Bloomberg did as mayor of New York but I don’t mind candidate Bloomberg as much since he’s nearly the gaslighting asshole that Sanders campaign is. That said, we could and should do better.

Exactly. Bernie first got elected when I was 3 years old. I turn 33 this summer. He’s had plenty of opportunity to pass bills and make them laws but he’s never been interested. Seriously he’s got the worst of Ron Paul- an egotistical backbencher who thinks he’s always been right and the worst of Trump- constantly attacking and deflecting on to his oponents.

The Republican Party of 1854 was better than any other major party of that era. I think if you want my opinion, the trouble began when hte GOP discovered it could get the votes of whites resentful about Civil Rights and make that an issue.
