The final maps have been approved for Unicameral districts in Nebraska. My state senator Steve Erdman has an op-ed in every Panhandle paper arguing that Omaha shouldnāt get another senator at the expense of the Panhandle just because Omahaās population grew and ours shrank. His claim is rural areas arenāt being represented properly.
Legislative district 47, which is the district that I represent, has now changed. Banner County and Kimball County have been moved into district 48, while Grant County and all of Box Butte County, including the City of Alliance have now been added into district 47. While this was not my choice, I look forward to meeting all those who have been moved into district 47.
My vote against the legislative district map should in no way be misconstrued as a vote against Grant County, Box Butte County or the City of Alliance. Instead, I voted against the legislative district map because it took a seat away from rural Nebraska and added one to Sarpy County, giving more representation to the greater Omaha metropolitan area and worsening the rural vs. urban divide which already exists in our state.

American missionaries and family members kidnapped in Haiti
A group of 17 missionaries and family members ā primarily Americans ā were kidnapped in Haiti on Saturday after returning from a site visit to an orphanage, according to an audio alert from their Christian aid group and a person familiar with the abduction, marking the latest in a wave of kidnappings to grip the spiraling Caribbean nation.
An audio described as a āprayer alertā from Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries and obtained by The Washington Post stated that āmen, women and childrenā associated with the group were being held by an armed gang. Those abducted included organization staff as well as family members, according to the recording.

What is the Evil Spirit of Death? Letās let Katie explain:
The spirit of death is active in the world at every moment, heās putting death on peopleās bodies, heās causing rapid aging, heās causing disease, disorder, heās also killing off finances and marriages and relationships.
And Sid, honestly, I believe that when we transition to heaven as a born-again believer, that we just do that. We lay down at Godās appointed time and we just transition to our place in glory.
If the spirit of death is in the room at the time of our death, it usually means that weāre dying of a disease or something that was not the will of God.

The Nebraska State Patrol apprehended three juveniles involved in a pursuit that reached speeds of more than 100 mph early Saturday morning.
The driver of the vehicle was an 11-year-old boy. The two passengers were 14-year-old boys.
Shortly before 1 a.m., the Nebraska State Patrol received a report that a Jeep Gladiator ā which had been stolen in Lincoln ā was headed east toward Omaha on Interstate 80, according to a press release from the State Patrol.
A trooper spotted the vehicle on I-80 and attempted a traffic stop near the 42nd Street interchange. The vehicle stopped briefly, but fled as the trooper attempted to make contact with the driver. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
The Jeep continued east, reaching speeds of 110 mph, and a handgun was thrown from the window, according to the State Patrol.
The Jeep voluntarily stopped near the 20th Street overpass.
Troopers took the three occupants into custody. A second handgun was found inside the vehicle. State Patrol determined that both guns were stolen.

I donāt care. I can leave at 4:00 am and go to a Micky D drive thru, go to the 24 hour Meijer and get my OTC drugs and some groceries, then hit the UPS store when they open at 8. Iāll fly thru the bridge coming home and even after paying duties and taxes Iāll be a few hundred bucks ahead of the game.

It was 35 degrees here in the suburbs of Minneapolis when I walked out the door. The sun is just rising over the trees now.
Currently 35 degrees here about 20 miles south of Albuquerque. 33 when I last checked a couple of hours ago. The overnight freezing temps came a few weeks early this year.

He ran unopposed in the last election. Considering how conservative my area is, that would be a real slog for anyone to the left of Attila the Hun to win here.
That said, if no one files to run, he wins by default. The filing fee is $120, and has to be paid personally by the candidate to run for the Unicameral.
Iām going to try. I am hampered by the fact I have no idea how to set up a campaign operation (that was never required for me on my three runs for the village board). I intend to contact Omaha state senator Megan Huntās office and the Nebraska Democratic Party to see if they can give me some tips or help.
If you run, I and at least a few other lizards, will make a donation to your campaign. Go.

If you enter the U.S. Youāll need a negative CV-19 test when you reenter Canada.
U.S. border town welcomes back fully vaccinated B.C. visitors, but travel hurdles remain
āYou still need a PCR test to come back to Canada,ā she said, referring to a type of molecular testing. Molecular COVID-19 tests involve methods such a nose swab, or providing a saliva sample.
āYouāre not going to go down there for a day, and [you] have to worry about having a PCR test in order to get back through the border.ā
Iām in Ontario and this says no, unless I misread it.

COVID-19 testing will not be required to enter the U.S. by land or sea, provided visitors meet vaccination requirements, officials said.
Thatās to ENTER the U.S. The way I interpreted the CBC article, Canada is the one requiring the test to reenter. I could be wrong, but itās something I highly suggest you make sure of before entering the U.S. Would hate for you to get stuck for 3 or more days waiting for a test result.

Negative COVID-19 test results must be presented upon return to Canada, but may take more than 3 days to issue

Iām not sure what this means:
For trips to the U.S. of less than 72 hours, travellers are allowed to conduct their pre-entry test in Canada before they leave the country.
If fully vaccinated, travellers will not have to quarantine upon arrival into Canada, provided they have a negative test and are not symptomatic.

Basically, if your trip is less than 3 days, you can take a COVID test before you leave and the results of that test can be used as your proof of a negative test on re-entry.

I didnāt see that. I hope that will be the case. Iāve suggested to Robyn that both her and her child be tested before they cross āJust in caseā.

The problem is that taking a COVID test here, the results may not come back for 72 hours, which is a pickle. I took one a couple of weeks ago because I lost my sense of smell (negative, likely sinus infection) and it took 2.5 days to get the results back. Shit.

Jesus lady is three years younger than me (why yes, sheās 58) and I am certainly not as thin as her, but I think I look better than she does, even being older. Plus, being a Jesus lady pays goodā¦in 2019 she got $116K out of her ministry (which probably doesnāt include her travel expenses).
One thing that bothers meā¦I canāt find her Bureau of Prisons record, because sheās thoroughly deep-sixed whatever her name was before she married Robert Souza. Because, yeah, when someone makes extraordinary claims (like getting a 12 year prison sentence from the feds in 1999, and yet your ministry was started in 2006, and we know the feds donāt do parole), then something doesnāt smell quite right.
