Spider-Man #45: Spidey vs. Lizard

Arts • Views: 11,857

Tonight’s cover from the Lizard Collection is The Amazing Spider-Man #45, published in February 1967, featuring Spider-Man fighting the evil Lizard (yes!) with one arm in a sling. A classic John Romita Sr. illustration.

Condition: some spine stresses but otherwise excellent, with the LC’s characteristic bright inks and white paper.

I gave up on Marvel altogether when Spiderman went emo. Eric Forman didn't even make a good Venom.

Spiderman vs a Lizard? Now who the heck do I root for?!!

Charles I hope you'll tell us how this one turns out.

I'm so conflicted! I want Spidey to win. But Lizards are so cool!

That Lizard is in purple pants, and a turquiose jacket.
I like Lizards, but this one needs some help.
Go Spidey!

The Lizard is actually one of my favorite Spiderman villains. He's got a great backstory, kind of the inverse of Spidey.

8 Irenicum  Sat, Jun 5, 2010 10:41:57pm

Yeah. Spidey gets my vote. It's all about the webz and those 8 legs. How could I resist?

9 Irenicum  Sat, Jun 5, 2010 10:47:39pm

Well this Lizard needs some sleep. A new reality beckons in the 'morrow. Be well well y'all.

I gotta say, guys, Helen Thomas is one of those people I'd never the hell heard of until I started reading LGF. And people kept talking about how horrible she was, but basically, it was always about how she was old and ugly, so I didn't take it seriously. Just trash talk.

Took one actual clip to make me despise the woman. Maybe in future, waste less time moaning about how old she is?

She should lose her chair at the Wh press briefings, and Hearst should fire her. Politico says ' Because she's almost 90 ( she shares Obama's birthday), there is the thought that she should be allowed to go into the sunset of her career with dignity and grace '.
As if dignity or grace ever played a part in it.

She had an embarrassing, fawning, drooling crush on Clinton that was caricatured all over the place. Really, she almost swooned every time she talked about or to him, and made no attempts to hide it.
She was the prototype for the Obama-enchanted media of the last campaign.

It is a war of attrition, each event harasses and depletes Israel's resources and sense of safety. They want Israel to feel attacked on all sides from all countries. Anytime they can provoke violence they consider it a major success.

Rockets, boats, mortars, missiles, suicide bombers and an avalanche of media hate every-time Israel defends itself. Fronts in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, the Mediterranean, and the threat of Iran. Even Euro-moonbats joining in the Jihad.

All of them safe in the knowledge that Israel will use minimal force is self-defence and they will have very few actual martyrs. And when they do, they have another Jewish blood libel to hyperventilate about.

The year 2010.

Peace activists in action

The IDF identified a group of about 50 men – of the 700 on board – who were well-trained and were stationed throughout the ship, mostly on the upper deck, where they laid an ambush for the IDF soldiers who rappelled onto the deck from helicopters.

The members of this violent group were not carrying identity cards or passports. Instead, each of them had an envelope in his pocket with about $10,000 in cash. The defense establishment suspects the funding for the mercenaries may have come from elements within the Turkish government.

Paid mercenaries, thugs.

I don't remember losing my voice (physically) for yelling debates since Israel signed the Oslo accord.

In the past few days, I've changed the axis-point of my debate.
If you (not you...) agree Israel is a sovereign state, and has a right to live, no boat can cross into it's national waters (or threaten to do so) without a pass. I don't care if there were terrorists, peaceniks, hippied or purple dodos.
If they don't agree to this point, the debate is moot, and they have already made up their mind so I don't waste my time.

Weird story of the day.

Porn actor sought in slaying dies after falling off cliff

A porn actor, who was accused of killing a coworker with a sword, died after falling off a cliff Saturday when police used a stun gun to subdue him.

Police said Stephen Clancy Hill attacked three coworkers with a samurai-style sword at the scene of a pornographic film shoot on Tuesday. One of the men later died.

When police caught up with Hill on Saturday, he kept them at bay for eight hours atop a cliff in West Hills, said Officer Bruce Borihanh.

To take Hill into custody, officers used their stun guns on him, at which point he went off the cliff, Borihanh said.

Police said Hill jumped, but also added it was unclear what caused his death.

On Tuesday night, West Valley police were called to a home on Hayvenhurst Avenue following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.

The home was being used to make pornographic films, but shoots had ended for the day.

Authorities said Hill was at the house, socializing with some coworkers. Then, without provocation, Hill grabbed a sword, which was used as a prop, and attacked one of the men, police said.

When two men tried to intervene, Hill attacked them too, police said. He then left the scene and eluded police until they spotted him Saturday.

I also don't buy the "makes us stupider" line. If anything, it has spread knowledge and ideas at an unprecedented rate. More people read news on the internet than ever read newspapers. But the distraction claim rings true, with TV being similar.

I know personally I hate the fact that I can no longer seem to have a meeting or conversation without the other party getting calls, text messages, emails, glancing at their screens at any pause, and so on. Nor does anyone seem to think it wise to turn off these distraction.

Conversely when I'm sat at the beach without a book, I can get bored. Paradise is dull after a couple of days. There is no winning.

I am sorry my friend but you got a little mixup. Here are the are facts.

1) Gaza is not a state therefore it does not have international water.

Well, the position of the Israeli government is that Gaza is not part of Israel. Therefore, Gaza's shore is not part of Israel territorial waters. That's why they call it a blockade, and not merely the patrolling of Israeli waters.

2) Gaza is a territory controlled by the Hamas which is declared as a terrorist organization across the board.
3) Hamas was founded to make sure Israel is gone, Israel is in a state of war with Hamas.

Not relevant to my argument.

4) Israel as a sovereign state is allowed to defend itseld, and bring in a state of war examine vessels approaching. Stating Rachel Corrie never was in Israel water is playing fool. They had intentions to break the blockade and they stated it officially.

There are legitimate questions about the legality of the blockade under international law. See this and this. But that's neither here not there. You specifically alluded to Israeli "national waters" in 48:

If you (not you...) agree Israel is a sovereign state, and has a right to live, no boat can cross into it's national waters"

Do I hear an echo or did we see these facts written 5000 times in various places ?...

re: #62 ryannon

Sorry, I totally messed up the post. I must have been thinking about something else. :-) Or perhaps it's the fact that I woke up quite early this morning. Anyway:

I know personally I hate the fact that I can no longer seem to have a meeting or conversation without the other party getting calls, text messages, emails, glancing at their screens at any pause, and so on. Nor does anyone seem to think it wise to turn off these distraction.

I see this all the time on the street: people walking around, apparently talking to themselves (what a boon cell phones have been to the authentically crazy!), texting all the time, interrupting conversations to receive a call, etc. As for me, I tend to avoid people who do this systematically in the context of personal interactions. I've also seen instances where it was actually a form of passive-aggressive behavior - a particularly handy way of indulging in it. Professionally, I don't have to deal with this at all.

Conversely when I'm sat at the beach without a book, I can get bored. Paradise is dull after a couple of days. There is no winning.

Quite honestly, I gave up reading books years ago. I've become completely visual (I can watch that ocean for hours - and not like a drooling idiot). The desire for the acquisition of information is satisfied by the Internet. As for the desire to 'escape' (s'evader in French), reading no longer provides it. Music videos and TedTalks have become staples of my intellectual input. Perhaps I've just found my level of mediocrity, or perhaps I'm on to something - at least for myself.

Man, get outta here! I was just seeing that!

Your comment is fair, people just stop caring about legal minutiae after a while and switch to arguments of morality. But in this case the legality of the blockade acts like a giant domino -- it determines whether the boarding of the flotilla was legal, the legitimacy of the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit, etc, etc.

Anyway, I think it's important to point out that the international law is ambiguous on this -- when discussing this, people usually just pick one position and start screaming at each other instead of discussing it through.

Geez, I'd hoped you had quoted for truth or something.

But agreed, I think we both find this new cell phone culture annoying and try to limit our exposure. I'm somewhat trapped in it professionally, but I'm also known for misplacing my mobile for days on end and as a result rarely get calls myself. It's other peoples mobiles ringing.

I have a similar experience with books, I don't seem to read nearly as much in books, and yet a great deal on LCDs. But yes, it is more enriching, entertaining and comprehensive now, I can do far more research as a result.

What you say about s'evader is spot on. We can no longer be satisfied with the simple distractions and need the stimulation of our techno-reality. I see the same effect with gamblers. They are not happy unless their game is spread and they are looking at cards and placing their bets. I guess the old song is apt:

How you going to keep them down on the farm
After they've seen Paree,
How you going to keep them away from Broadway,
Jazzing around, painting the town,
How you going to keep them away from harm,
That's a mystery,
They'd wish they'd never seen a rake or plow,

So who the heck can parlez-vous a cow,
How you gonna keep them down on the farm,
After they've seen Paree.

But in this case the legality of the blockade acts like a giant domino -- it determines whether the boarding of the flotilla was legal, the legitimacy of the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit, etc, etc.

Well, though this might sound a bit tautological, the only people who are going to care about this are those who care about this...

Anyway, I think it's important to point out that the international law is ambiguous on this -- when discussing this, people usually just pick one position and start screaming at each other instead of discussing it through.

I hear you. To me, the discussion which is hardly ever broached is the one of the future. As you say, people want to get into heated arguments over "fault". However, time marches forward regardless of the skill of orators or debaters. A thought experiment might go like this: What will this situation be like in 1 day, 10 days, 100 days, 1000 days, 10000 days, 100000 days? Is there some point where a magic fairy comes down and waves her wand and all of sudden the problem(s) go away? Of course not. So then the parties involved (and not some fairy) are going to have to find a way forward.

AMBUSH!

Washington (CNN) - Joe Biden came under friendy fire during a summer-kickoff barbeque at the vice president's residence Saturday.

During the event for White House reporters and their families, the president's No. 2 was attacked with sqiurt guns by his grandchildren and by children of members of the press corps.

Soon, his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel joined in on the drenching ambush.

As part of the event, a quartet of the U.S. Navy band played country music and the Bidens provided clowns, games, and a waterslide for kids.

That song marked the end of what had been a traditional way of life for hundreds of years. And thousands in Europe. It marked the transition from a local, agrarian context to the pleasures of perils of the big cities. We're undergoing a similar transition right now, except that it has to do with information and information technology. At the moment, I can't think of as emblematic a song for this as the one you cited. Perhaps it's because there are hundreds of them , each corresponding to a facet of the fragmentation of our consciousness into a parallel processing, multi-tasking and globally connected entity.

I apologiez for the portentous and perhaps pretentious tone, but I'm not really used to discussing these ideas in writing. I do have the occasion to talk about them, and generally I find that easier....

Eh eh. These legal discussions sometimes do look like 3 guys sitting in a room discussing subtleties and nuances nobody else cares about. The reason I believe it's nevertheless important to say something about it is that people often act like they care about it. They root their positions in "Teh Law Says I'm Right", and that's the end of it. If you establish that this is not the case, people are forced to base their arguments on something else (hopefully a more productive something else).

I hear you. To me, the discussion which is hardly ever broached is the one of the future. As you say, people want to get into heated arguments over "fault". TURKISH DELIGHT:

PM: Mercenaries aboard Gaza ship
By JPOST.COM STAFF AND YAAKOV KATZ
06/06/2010 12:12

"Evidence shows separate group of violent Islamists boarded flotilla." Accumulating evidence in the IDF’s investigation of the Gaza flotilla incident is pointing to the fact a separate group of Islamist radicals whose sole intention was to initiate a violent conflict was aboard the Mavi Marmara, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the opening of Sunday’s cabinet meeting.

He said that a group of street-fighters "boarded the ship at a separate port, did their own provisioning, and were not subject to the same security check of their luggage as all the other passengers.”

The prime minister's remarks followed IDF reports that a group of about 50 men – of the 700 on board – had been identified as being well-trained, and a ringleader who recruited them from the northwestern Turkey city of Bursa.

The group was split up into smaller squads that were distributed throughout the deck and communicated with one another with handheld communication devices. The men wore bulletproof vests and gas masks and laid an ambush for the Shayetet 13 soldiers as they
rapelled onto the ship's deck from a helicopter.

The members of this violent group were not carrying identity cards or passports. Instead, each of them had an envelope in his pocket with about $10,000 in cash.

Dirty fuckers.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Two NJ men were taken into custody last night on terror charges at JFK airport on their way to Somalia to join up with an al Qaeda affiliated terror group. One of them was from the next town over.

Prosecutors say more people are expected to be charged in coming days.

Meanwhile, Turkey is now claiming that Israel was behind a Kurdish attack last week. When all else fails - blame Israel.

And in the Middle East, blaming Israel is de rigueur and most fashionable. All the usual suspects do it - and hardly anyone ever calls them out for the claptrap.

Speaking of that asshole,

Hamas is not a terrorist organization, it is a resistance movement, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared on Friday at a rally in the Turkish province of Konya, according to local daily Hurriyet.

Erdogan reportedly said Hamas, the legitimate winner of the Palestinian elections, was fighting for its land. "You are always talking about democracy. You’ll never let Hamas rule. What kind of democracy is this?” he reportedly said, apparently addressing the Israeli leadership.

Hence the offer to allow him to be present for the inspection and delivery. But you're right, there will be some "reason" why allowing the ship to dock in Gaza is the only way to ensure that the cargo is not tampered with and goes directly into the hands of Hamas...er, the people of Gaza.

Update on previous post.

An Egyptian appeals court on Saturday upheld a ruling that orders the country's Interior Ministry to strip the citizenship from Egyptians married to Israeli women.

The case underlines the deep animosity many Egyptians still hold toward Israelis, despite a peace treaty signed between the two countries 31 years ago.

The Supreme Administrative Court's decision also scores a point for Egyptian hard-liners who have long resisted any improvement in ties with Israel since the signing of the 1979 peace treaty.

In upholding last year's lower court ruling, the appeals court said Saturday that the Interior Ministry should present each marriage case to the Cabinet on an individual basis. The Cabinet will then rule on whether to strip the Egyptian of his citizenship.

Israeli commandoes murdered nine humanitarian aid workers in international waters. Nine were Turkish citizens; one a U.S. citizen. They wounded scores more. They imprisoned hundreds, and impounded the ships they hijacked on the high seas. Someone asked me the question: will they get away with it? So far, I answered, they HAVE gotten away with it. And if history repeats itself, if nothing changes, they will continue to get away with it.

Our job is to change history.

And this time, Israel's savagery may just have made our job a lot easier. When the histories are written, it is certain that Israel's Flotilla Massacre will be remembered as a key battle in what Richard Falk, the UN's Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Territory, calls Israel's "war of legitimacy." And this battle, Israel has already lost.

Malaysia is wonderfully schizo. Mahatir may be a nutcase but his Singapore-envy ended up sending Malaysia across a road to modern development that's really turning society on its end.

Aren't the Islamists pitching a fit about modernization? If so, does the government encourage them to take out their rage on Israel, as does Saudi Arabia?

Mr Netanyahu has described those on board the Irish-owned Rachel Corrie as "peace activists", but labelled the other vessel - the Mavi Marmara - a "ship of hate organised by violent Turkish terror extremists".

Israel, the land of non-terroristic opportunity?

Motorised rickshaws wind their way through the crowded alleyways of Ard al-Lawa as street vendors call out their wares.

This poor Cairo neighbourhood is home to an increasing number of African migrants and refugees, but many do not want to stay.

The Little green football prayer list
This day in History…It is D-Day
Although the term D-Day is used routinely as military lingo for the day an operation or event will take place, for many it is also synonymous with June 6, 1944, the day the Allied powers crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control during World War II..

Lord Almighty we pray this morning for the nation of Israel. Hold up their Nation and give them Strength and wisdom. We pray this morning that you grant grace to the men and women serving in the IDF. Hold your people in your strong arms Dear Lord and protect them forever.
We pray today for the Gulf Coast of America and for all those whose lives are affected by the oil spill. We pray for the environment that is being damaged.
We pray for Roi this morning…Because of the Oil spill he may be out of work.. Find him work we pray.
Obdicut: My friend Pam, who's ovarian cancer has returned. She's going into chemo again. And she believes in the power of prayer.
Dark_Falcon: His Mother had a stroke..She is getting better.. Please heal her Lord

We pray for your tender mercies
Wlewisiii: If you would pray as appropriate to your beliefs for John Freuh, his step-mother, my sister Elisabeth & his father Rick, I'd appreciate it.
Dear Lord..We ask you this day you bring healing and grace to SFZ’s Father and Mother-in-law..
Help her in the Job search and finding her a new Career. .
We know your love brings healing and life.
Dear Lord..We pray for SFZ this morning:
Her friend of a friend has a newborn son facing some bad medical issues. Prayers for Grant, son of Jill and Steven, are greatly appreciated.

Guanxi88: Best wishes and lizard mojo to my wife's best friend. her father committed suicide not two weeks after her mother succumbed to cancer.
Reine: Health and Family.. Lord we ask you grant Reine’s Daughter a Special blessing..Look after her and grant grace.

Prairiefire: Health for Family and friends
Mcspiff: if you could add my uncle to the list. He went in for surgery today and it didn't go so well. Extra organs had to come out, etc. Still just hearing bits and pieces now. But any prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Alouette’ Dear Father..His name in Hebrew is Pinhas ben Rivka. , and he is in congestive heart failure. He is 91 years old, and a WW2 Pacific vet.

Quit blasting your unborn children with piercing rays of agony

(NaturalNews) Ultrasound is extremely damaging to the health of any unborn child (fetus). The natural health community has been warning about ultrasound for years, but mainstream medicine, which consistently fails to recognize the harm it causes, insists ultrasound is perfectly safe and can't possibly harm the health of a fetus.

One of the Nashashibi descendants lives in California. I wonder what happened to the rest of them.

More recently, two members of the Nashashibi family became members of the Palestine National Council (PNC): Nabila Ibrahim, the first female physician in the family and Momahed Zuhdi, Minister of Finance in the Palestine National Authority (PNA).

Some members of the family are living now in Jordan as businessmen and professionals. Others are working in the Gulf States. OR when you get to the LGF PAGES, look at the right side and you'll see LGF PAGES BOOKMARKLET. Drag and drop that into your toolbar at the top of your screen. Then open up the page you want copy. With that page open, click the LGF PAGES BOOKMARKLET in your toolbar it will automatically put in the title and the link.

Missed by one post. Thanks anyhoo.

Don't worry about making a mistake because you can always go back and edit it if it doesn't come out the way you want. (There's a little pencil (edit tool) by the title which shows up after you put up the post.)

How quickly the truth is sacrificed for propaganda

The UN Human Rights Council condemned Israel for its Gaza raid, but abuses abound in the countries backing the resolution

Nobody disputes that the botched Israeli commando raid on a self-described "humanitarian aid convoy" to Gaza is a public relations disaster.

But much of the subsequent outrage smells more of opportunistic political theatre than genuine concern for human rights abuses.

Both sides know that the real struggle is to command the field of public opinion and so the important battles are now waged with cellphone videos, blogs and YouTube posts.

It took only minutes for what happened on the Turkish ship to play out. Then it shifted online where competing images sought to frame the incident either as a massacre of innocents or as a bloodthirsty mob of purportedly peaceful humanitarian aid workers attacking security forces.

What the videos don't offer, of course, is context. Viewers have no way of determining who's telling the truth and who's spinning for maximum effect. Is that really a paint gun in the hands of a commando, as Israeli authorities claim, or is it a deadly automatic weapon? Is that really a wooden baton wielded in self-defence by humanitarians, or is it a metal rod wielded by terrorists trying to bludgeon people to death -- and so provoke the violent response that will martyr them in their cause?

Read it all

American paralyzed in 2003 Hamas bus bombing has passed away from his injuries.

JERUSALEM – The wife of a U.S. citizen seriously injured in a Palestinian suicide bombing seven years ago says he has died as a result of complications from his wounds.

Julie Averbach says her husband, 44-year-old New Jersey native Steve Averbach, died in his sleep on Thursday.

A Hamas suicide bomber killed seven people and wounded 20 when he detonated his explosives on a packed commuter bus in Jerusalem in May 2003, at the height of the Palestinian intifada uprising.

Averbach was hit by shrapnel and paralyzed from the neck down.

I dunno if it's been mentioned, but a Turkish paper has released some of the "censored" photos of "activists" that were recovered. They clearly show the commandos being dragged downstairs, beaten and bloody.

In one such photo, you can see one of the "activists" holding a knife in the bottom right corner, but Reuters has decided they'd rather not let the world know, and specifically cropped it out.

I think this is one of those things Charles loves to point out -- maliciously cropped photos by Reuters, where have we seen that before?

IDF Admits It Doctored Flotilla Audio Clip. Washington Post’s Kessler Must Retract

It’s nice that the IDF has “clarified” its doctoring of footage. But the new clip it has released that supposedly shows “the entire segment…in which the exchange took place and the comments were made” is highly suspect as well. Why? Because it contains an exchange with Huwaida Arraf that Arraf claims took place on an entirely different attempt to break the siege — Arraf has led previous aid boats to Gaza that were intercepted and hijacked by the IDF.

Who are the OTM's , what do they have with them, if they mean no harm why do the come in an illegal maner, and as the ones who flew the planes were in fact over staying visas it seems we are slow learners at those to be killed some time from nows expense.

It's unfortunate and amateurish.
they should have released the full conversation to begin with.

They should have but they did follow up with the full recording. I see no evidence that the full recording is fake. The guy even admits to making the comments although he claims it was on another voyage. He probably says shit like that all the time. Blumenthal's defense of some jackass telling Jews to go back to Auschwitz is despicable.

More rain again today. We had a break in the weather yesterday and I put back my row covers in the garden to keep the plants from drowning. I can't believe we're well into June and I still have row covers in my garden. I'm going to make a 3 attempt this year to plant tomatoes when this storm passes.

There might be some merit in that position but, it goes only so far.

There are Islamists in South America and Chavez does have close ties with Iran.

How many OTM's are in jail now, who are they, what is their background, how many have we deported and why?

How many OTM's have entered from Mexico and why, where are they, what are they doing, if the border remaines unsecure how many more will enter illegal and why?

re: #433 Killgore Trout

I don't think the recording is fake, but as you can see, they've opened themselves to accusations of doctoring by editing out all of the filler, just like Blumenthal is doing in his piece. Once there is doctoring of the tape, no matter the legitimacy of it (editing out static or whatnot), the tape becomes the doctored tape forever.

Sorry sparky, but if you're lookin' for somebody to jump through hoops, you best try Sea World. You wanna make your argument, present your own facts, don't make others do your legwork.

They are hanging in there. We had some sun yesterday so I finally got a good look at them. Nobody's sprouting legs yet but they look healthy. I can't wait for them to become frogs and start eating slugs. The slugs have been a huge problem this year because of the ridiculous amount of rain. Hopefully next year will be better with my own private army of frogs.

Actually it's from the Macross anime franchise, which is where Mechwarrior/Battletech "borrowed" some mech designs from. I just selected it on a lark one day, back when I found out that avatars were possible. Been thinkin' of changing it to something more...recent.

If I hated FO3, I wouldn't have reserved it the week reservations became available, waited outside til the store opened to be the first in line to pick it up, then spent over 100 hours playing four different characters. And that's not even including the one I'm playing now on my XBox.

It is, which is why October is seeming farther and farther away with every new revelation about Fallout: New Vegas. With E3 being next week, I'm hopeful that we'll seem some in-game footage like we did when FO3 was there. Hopefully more combat and storyline and less going over the features we already know and love/hate.

I take it that the Turkish terrorists are in Israeli detention. Were they the only ones to die? How will they identify their bodies if they had no ID?

Israel sent the bodies back to Turkey almost immediately. Big funerals. I assume the other Turks were able to identify them.

Wait. They got a problem with Israel backing the noble and heroic Kurdish freedom fighters?

Free free Kurdistan!

462 What, me worry?  Sun, Jun 6, 2010 9:24:23am

Just watching my Tivo of This Week Without Stephanoplous.

John Kerry and John Cornyn (TX) were talking about the flotilla. Both gave strong statements in support of Israel. Kerry mentioned, first thing, Israel's right to defense, the 6000 missiles launched by Hamas from Gaza, Egypt's border blockade and Iran's influence in the whole sordid affair. It was a great speech.

The roundtable was George Will, Liz Cheney, Arianna Huffington and Marcos from KOS. Those two criticized Israel, of course, but Liz Cheney put them in their place. She made a wonderful statement about how the international community must stand with Israel because when we don't, it strengthens Hizbollah, Iran and Syria against them. Huffington said that what Israel did alienates the "moderates." Whom are these moderates? She didn't say.

Kerry, who visited Gaza in 2009, did not meet with Hamas. When his visit was praised by a Gazan resident, he responded:

"Your political leadership needs to make it clear how it is willing to move to make peace and those decisions have not been made yet," Kerry responded. "Your political leadership needs to understand that any nation that has rockets hitting it for many years threatening its residents is going to respond."

Kerry also said today that the aid that Israel gives weekly to Hamas doesn't even go to the people. That the Gazans were promised 15 schools to be built with the construction materials that were instead used to make weapons bunkers.

Say what you will about John Kerry, but he's a good friend to Israel.

Often repeated facts may or may not be relevant, depending on the particular discussion you're having.

Shrug. You're not very bright, are you? Not even the Israel government is saying that Gaza's waters are their waters. That's how stupid your "national waters" claim is. I guess they have decided they don't want Israel to exist either.
