Breitbart Readers React to Cincinnati Zoo Gorilla Story With Deluge of Ugly Racism

The same way they react to everything
Wingnuts • Views: 54,043

At Breitbart “News,” climate change denier and hack pseudo-journalist James Delingpole takes a short break from anti-science propaganda to engage in Breitbart’s favorite sport: race-baiting their knuckle-dragging commentariat: Black Outrage Over Gorilla Shot To Protect ‘White Privilege’.

Delingpole’s idiotic “gotcha” point is that a few Twitter users mistakenly assumed the boy who sneaked into the gorilla enclosure was white and made some comments about “white privilege” — when the boy was actually black. Yes, this is what passes for news at Breitbart.

But the real point of Delingpole’s dumb post is to give the commenters yet another chance to get their hate on, and boy do they ever. There are currently more than 6,000 comments in this thread, and since the article is about a gorilla, I’ll bet you can just guess what they’re ranting about.

Here are a few excerpts from the nauseating deluge of racism. Click the button if you want to see what the right wing base is like these days.

The kid was nog, so why the outrage. Oh That’s right, black on black don’t matter.

[…]

…how could you discern a niglet from baby ape at distance….

[…]

Premature eblackulation

[…]

Admittedly i rather have the gorilla over the future drug dealing rapist nigletmaker

[…]

Blacks especially black women never use their god given brain before they open their vile mouths. HAHA…take that your filthy racist monkeys. THE KID WAS BLACK…where is the white privileged. I am sick to death of ni993rs getting all fake enraged just to get some attention.

[…]

Harembe or whatever the apes name was reminded them of Shaq.

[…]

I think we should send them all back to Africa…

[…]

Neggers.

[…]

Is there a trend starting against the N-gros? Or am I the only one getting sick and tired of them?

[…]

Obama started it again by banning the word Negro. As you are well aware, when Obowelmovement proclaims something, the opposite happens. Keep your doctor, doctor gone. Gun control, sales through the roof. Forbid the use of the word Negro, use increases dramatically.

[…]

Wait just a freaking minute! Wasn’t that Obama’s Kenyan cousin in the cage?

[…]

I think white people have had enough of being called racists.

Enough be enough!

[…]

PRESIDENT
OBAMA: “IF I HAD A SON HE WOULD LOOK LIKE HARAMBE!”

[…]

The jungle bunnies are on the warpath.

[…]

Hahaha black people. Don’t ever change. Sorry for the gorilla though. He probably thought the black kid was a gorilla baby and wanted to take care of it.

[…]

The gorilla just got finished playing in slop and eating garbage, it never should have gone in that cage.

[…]

Nothing new, black people are the only racists left in America.

[…]

THEY SHOT THE WRONG MONKEY.

[…]

Dat Go’Rilla wuz a good boy he dindu nuffin! He wuz on hiz way to church!

[…]

That gorilla reminds me of a rap star, damn they look so much alike.

[…]

They shot the wrong monkey.

[…]

I was never racist until 7 LONG years of Obama, now I know why people are

[…]

with racism you would not have nationalism…if you do not have love to your genetic pool you are a Zombie , DEAD man Walking

healthy humans are racists

wake up

[…]

Harambe just wanted some skittles, man.

[…]

Well I’ve said it all along, but now even the blacks are insinuating they are the missing link. The zoo shot one of their own.

[…]

If they want to be called Negro, we will call them Negro. If they want to be called gorilla, though specieism to the apes, we will call them gorilla. Is that not what proper PC demands?

[…]

So they’re comparing themselves to gorillas? At least gorillas won’t shoot you over a pair of Nikes.

[…]

Was the gorilla trained as well as Africans are to put up their hands when caught robbing white folk or whenever demonstrating for more free stuff.

[…]

4 out of 5 Negro babies prefer Gorilla dolls to baby dolls FACT.

[…]

White women with black children are disgusting.

[…]

Is there a picture of the gorilla in a cap and gown?

[…]

BLM has confirmed that white people are right. Black people do look like gorillas.

[…]

Average IQ of ghetto blacks is 70. Gorillas about 80!

[…]

The Porch Monkey had it coming.

[…]

You can’t blame the boy. He was looking for his daddy.

It goes on and on and on like this, thousands of ugly, deranged racist comments and sick “jokes,” with complaints that right wingers are falsely accused of racism right next to the most disgusting overtly racist comments imaginable.

I’m not even bothering to open the spoiler tag. I know what’s there, it’s the same revolting crap that they spew each and every time. When called on it, they play the victim and claim that they are being attacked for speaking the truth against PC.

This is the logical result of the GOP’s failure to squelch the hate speech early, but it served it purpose to activate their far right core.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

Stephen Hawking is probably of the same mindset in regard to the Breitbarters and this Trump supporter as I—-we’re beyond caring what they think. I’m black, I’m successful, and I refuse to let them define me. Hawking is a genius, he knows he has a medical condition that changed his life, and he also knows, as do I, that we’re fine just as we are. The Breitbarters and bridget glass will never be satisfied with their lot in life. They’ll always feel the need to attack others to feel good about themselves. I don’t have that problem, and because I don’t, it has freed me from their attacks and insults and permitted me to live in peace with all others. In other words, I don’t give a d*mn what they think/say about me, and to take a page from their playbook, I can truly say that, “I got mine,” and I don’t need them to give me anything. What I have I earned by working, planning, and saving. No, I’m not rich, but I have a life that is rich in knowledge, friends, and family and my life does not include having to disparage others to feel good about myself.

Dehydration can be a bitch. I know when I’m cycle-touring I have to really watch for it. The funny thing is, the first thing that goes for me when I’m starting to get dehydrated is the feeling that I should be drinking. Now when I find myself not wanting some water, I know that I really need some.

Medics in the Army used to love treating dehydrated soldiers. They would come in thinking they were dying, medic would hook up an IV, dump a couple of bags into them, and BAM! they were feeling great again.

Come on, we all know that the roads and highways of our nation, the thousands of miles of rail lines, and the very ports that we use to bring in and ship out exports came about due to the work of great businessmen and were in no way the result of trillions of dollars in government investments. Why, without the captains of industry, we’d have no infrastructure whatsoever!

What annoys me people are who go “Well my family didn’t own slaves so you can’t blame me for slavery.” First off, no one is blaming you for slavery, secondly slave had an economic impact on more than just the slaveowners. And finally we should be frank about slavery as possible. Even if you don’t believe it was the main cause of the Cviil War, it was certainly a major cause. The fact is slavery drove the Southern economy for many years.

Col. Republicans blame hacker for official’s racist anti-Obama photo — after she called it a joke

According to the Daily Sentinel, Sorenson did not deny posting the image, calling it a joke and adding, “I really don’t care if people are offended by it.”

But her fellow committee members have since contradicted Sorenson’s account, blaming outside forces for the image going online. The group’s treasurer, Sue Whittlesey, went so far as to blame the progressive blog Media Matters.

“They’ve been harassing her the last few weeks,” Whittlesey said.

Committee vice chair Vic Ullrey insisted that Sorenson was not a racist.

I read this about “The Free State of Jones” in “Smithsonian Magazine” online yesterday. In some ways, things haven’t changed in the area much since the Civil War. There’s also a movie trailer on site.
smithsonianmag.com

Reading through that. This paragraph about the guy the writer met with who was going to set the record straight about Knight (the character played by Matthew McConaughey) is very telling:

There seemed no point in arguing with him, and it was almost impossible to get a word in, so I sat there scribbling as he launched into a long monologue that defended slavery and the first incarnation of the Klan, burrowed deep into obscure Civil War battle minutiae, denied all charges of racism, and kept circling back to denounce Newt Knight and the simpering fools who tried to project their liberal agendas on him.

N. Korea’s 4th Musudan missile launch ends in failure

“North Korea attempted to launch an unidentified missile from Wonsan, Gangwon Province, at around 5:20 a.m., but it is presumed to have been unsuccessful,” the JCS said in a brief text message. The military is studying the details of the launch and is maintaining a high level of combat preparedness, the JCS said. Official sources said the launched missile was a Musudan intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM). The sources said the missile may have exploded on the mobile launcher immediately after the fire button was pushed. They said the explosion is presumed to have inflicted serious injuries on personnel in the immediate vicinity.

The latest launch marks Pyongyang’s fourth failed attempt to launch its Musudan mid-range ballistic missiles in two months. North Korea has deployed about 50 Musudan missiles with its forces since 2007, but none of them had been test-fired until this year. The back-to-back launch failures stoked skepticism on the reliability of North Korea’s Musudan missiles.

The kid looks White to my eyes but so what? In my opinion, the race of the child is completely irrelevant to the story. What is relevant is that the parents or guardians should have kept better control of their kid so that he didn’t fall into a protected enclosure resulting in the death of an endangered gorilla. The zoo needs to make sure that children can’t just walk into enclosures

How someone could look at this situation and turn it into an opportunity to bash Black people is beyond me. I hope someone is reporting these racist comments to Breitbart’s advertisers. It needs to be boycotted just like Rush Limbaugh’s show.

He’s actually started to get a tiny, tiny bit of pushback from media people now. I don’t think it would take much to make him go completely apeshit on the air. I doubt he could make it to the election without using some pretty bad terminology in referring to Hillary Clinton, whether it’s a hot-mike mistake or just blowing his top.

I expect him to be quite explicit at some point that he’ll never concede, and that his followers will put him in the White House regardless of the vote—which is rigged anyway, right?

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. A very nice weekend here weatherwise, even with the rain/mixed bag yesterday. Definitely a nice change of pace.

And then I had the misfortune of going online and seeing that Trump was being Trump. Berniebros being Berniebros, and that an endangered gorilla was killed at a zoo to save a child that fell into an enclosure carries more media attention than hundreds dying in ships capsizing in the Med or that Syrian hospitals continue to be barraged by attacks (and that particular news report doesn’t know/care that the photo is of F-16s, while it was Russian fighters that carried out those attacks). Priorities.

Speaking of Trump, guess questioning his charitable giving has gotten under his skin:

1. He can’t run a business, and yet thinks he can run America like one.
2. He’s planning on attempting to deport millions of people. This will turn America into a police state.
3. Some of his most vocal supporters are white supremacists.
4. He treats women as toys.
5. His policies would have us at war with everyone.
6. He’d invade Belgium if the leader said something funny about his hair.

Trump thinks he’s a bigshot, but he’ll get played so fast we’ll have to invent a new speed measurement.

Shock poll.

For starters, it’s relying on the assumption that she gets indicted. And indictment is not the same as being guilty. Presumption of innocence and all that.

The right wing can’t help itself. They’ve been on Clinton derangement for 20+ years, and they can’t help themselves. That Democrats see through it is somehow shocking.

Let’s just ignore that the GOP, which claims to be the moral majority, and the protectors of all that is good and wholesome, is nominating an adulterer, bigot, smear merchant, and tax cheat (and flim flam artist) in Trump. They’re also circulating another adulterer and scammer in Newt Gingrich as their VP option. Others involved in the Clinton impeachment had their own sex scandals.

And they want people to think that Whitewater is still relevant despite there being no there there. Bill was impeached on lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky, not about anything actually having to do with Whitewater business dealings.

But that’s not stopping the right from this onslaught of derp.

IF, and that’s a big if, Trump’s campaign funds are tapped out and he’s not going to be paying for ads between now until after the convention when he becomes the official nominee and the GOP can start buying him time it’s the best chance for Hillary, the SuperPACS and the DNC to start hammering that out again and again.

I’d love to see an ad where they keep going how he’s taken money, lied about contributions, cheated people and finish it with the tag line “Who should the term Crooked be applied to?” or something like that.

It won’t matter to the hard core supporter, they are beyond the pale, but all of the people who are just casual observers of the political process are prime ground for this. Even if it doesn’t make them vote Dem., add in that I expect to see a lot of Koch money going to support Johnson and the Libertarian ticket it will make a big difference.

The railgun would have longer range than existing guns, cheaper to fire rounds on target than missiles for comparable range and effect ($25,000 per round, versus a $1m missile or more to do comparable damage). It’s also safer for the ship since the rounds are kinetic, rather than explosive (less explosives on board the ship/vehicle), and they can carry more rounds without replenishment.

The ammo tech for the railgun is also being applied to other conventional arms too.

SiriusXM suspended Glenn Beck’s radio show on Tuesday in response to a comment made by guest Brad Thor. The famed fiction novelist said last week on Beck’s show that citizens might possibly have to take potentially illegal means in order to keep Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump from office or “remove” him should he obtain it. Beck neither distanced himself from the comments nor refuted them during the interview.

Right wingers talking the patriotic solution - engaging in overthrowing the government.

Look, if Trump somehow wins, I’ll oppose him on his policies and agenda, but within the strictures of the law. I wont seek to impeach for policy differences. I wont try to gum up the works and sabotage the operation of government - though the GOP has already done that.

But if Trump does something that rises to high crimes and misdemeanors, you can be sure that I’ll be calling for his impeachment. I wouldn’t be surprised if he falls into that right off the bat. Because Trump really doesn’t know how government functions or what the role of the Presidency is, let alone the branches of government and how checks and balances flow, or what the role of the Supreme Court is.

He’d overstep his authority from day 1. And that’s just the tip of what makes him so dangerous.

Yeah, that’ll translate into a competent presidency. NOT.

It’s a hint that Trump is so far over his head that he needs to rely on others to stay afloat - like needing campaign donations to do the heavy lifting of running a campaign. He can’t rely on all the free airtime he’s been getting (even though he’s gotten far more than all the other candidates combined). And the attack ads have barely started against him.

Just my .02

RBS

90% of America only knows a tiny bit about The Donald…and that is his crappy reality TV show.

No matter how much of the “Democratic Playbook”* he tries to use it won’t matter if the Dems and the freaking media educate the voters over the next 4 to 5 months about the real Trump. If another 40% of America gets a bit more education of the real Trump it will pale in comparison to any Clinton unfavorables and baggage. He would be toast.

Let not the Trump supporters forget there is a real reason the GOP didn’t want the man as their candidate. They know him.

*What the fuck is the democratic playbook? Is that in any way comparable to the way the Republicans use their own dirty tricks and hide behind things like Swift Boat books. Please.

ummm…

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — During a seminar on “home defense concepts” at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Louisville, an instructor encouraged gun owners to store firearms in their children’s bedrooms.

Rob Pincus, who owns the popular firearm instruction company I.C.E. Training, paced across a conference room stage as he repeatedly warned against the threat of violent home invasions. After establishing that filling one’s home with weapons is the only solution, he then recommended that gun owners store firearms in their kids’ rooms for easy access.

“Why would you consider staging a firearm inside a child’s room?” he told the few hundred NRA members in attendance. “It’s the first place I’m going to go! As I’ve said…many times, if your kid is going to break into the safe just because it’s in their room, you have a parenting issue, not a home defense issue.”

It just get worse after that.

Well the truth is that Trump’s remarks have been widely reported and as a result a majority of voters view him very unfavorably. That basically means he can’t win as long as the Democrats work as hard as they can to get out the vote like they always should. He was able to win the GOP nomination anyway because a plurality of GOP voters like his racist, misogynistic comments. But they aren’t enough to get him elected President.

re: #351 GlutenFreeJesus

Battery powered? An EMP would make that thing useless. Needs a gunpowder backup at least.

There’s a whole bunch of problems with the railgun concept which prevent it from becoming a real thing on board ships etc. Chemical-propellant weapons have a number practical advantages over electromagnetic guns such as simplicity, energy density (the propellant cartridge holds all the propulsive energy needed for the shell, no nuclear reactors or giant battery required) and they dissipate a lot of the heat of each shot by blowing the hot gasses out the end of the barrel, not something the railgun or gaussgun can do so it needs a lot of active cooling of the barrel to achieve a rate of fire better than ten shots an hour. In contrast a modern 5” self-loading naval gun can fire at a rate of forty or fifty rounds a minute.

The railgun’s projectile is fast, faster than a burning-propellant shell can achieve due to the limitations of the speed of sound and KE = 1/2 MV^2 but air resistance increases as the cube of velocity so all that extra speed is bled off quite quickly as air friction, enough to melt the projectile in extremis. It’s also unguided which means that at extreme range the circular error probable (CEP) expands massively to the point where it might not land in the correct country. In contrast a modern guided missile can hunt down a moving target or choose which window of a building to impact and do that from a range greater than a railgun’s projectile can comfortably achieve even on a semi-ballistic trajectory out of the atmosphere.

re: #379 Nojay UK

EMP is fairly easy to shield against, especially in a metallic warship that is already a giant Faraday cage. Nearly all military hardware has designed to be be EMP resistant since the mid 60s. If a ship was vulnerable to EMP it would be dead in the water anyway with its electronic systems out of commission.

The railgun testing has gone so well that the Navy took a step to accelerate the program. Instead of building and testing an at sea mock-up at the cost of millions they are going straight to an actual installation on a new ship. Sea trials should begin before the end of the year…
