Lyrics

I’m so happy— Happy!
I’m so happy— Happy!
I’m so happy— Happy!

Everything is crumbling (crumbling,crumbling)
Everything is crumbling (crumbling,crumbling)
Everything is crumbling (crumbling,crumbling)

Happy! - Happy! - Happy! - Happy! - Happy! - Happy! -

———————————————

Choose your Poison - Poison!
Choose your Poison - Poison!
Choose your Poison - Poison!

Everything is shutting down (shutting down, shutting down)
Everything is shutting down (shutting down, shutting down)
Everything is shutting down (shutting down, shutting down)

Poison - Poison - Happy! - Happy! - Happy! - Happy! -

———————————————

EAT (Eat) - FLY (Fly) - SILENCE (Silence) - JOY (Joy)
CAT (Cat) - SEQUENCE (Sequence) - FUTURE (Future) - PUPPY (Mother fucking puppy)
MY (My) - OWN (Own) - MOTHER (Mother) - FUCKING (Mother fucking)
LIFE - BURNED DOWN LIKE A HOLE IN THE WARM SOFT GROUND

HOUSE - CHILD - HAPPY - FEAR
Of my — own — voice
Concentrating on flies
Fill me up - knock me down
Take my hand, in my hand, and my eloquent knife
Through my heart — through my heart
Straight through my mother — mother fucking

Heart belongs to you - My Heart belongs to you..

Puppy, Puppy, Puppy, Puppy.

Eyes for an eye, eye for an eye —
Tickety-tackety, tickety-tackety

Eye for an eye, Tooth for a tooth —
It’s never enough, but it’s never the truth
Life is a treat so pretty and pink.

Youth is wasted on the mother,
Youth is, youth is wasted on the mother,
Youth is wasted on the mother fucking,
Wasted on the mother fucking youth.

I’m so happy — Happy!
I’m so happy — Happy!

Snap chat- Rotting rats- Minecraft- Cheerios
Netfiix- Bag of tricks- soothe my soul

My anesthesiologist is fucking my psychiatrist
And I feel no pain- cover me with Lidocane
I’m so happy everything’s so great
And the world is an oyster on an appetizer plate.

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy

I’m trying to think of what could possibly break this stranglehold Cheeto Benito has on these cultists, and the only thing that comes to mind is something that so utterly and completely destroys his “alpha male” image that even they can’t deny it. But I have no idea what specific form that could take…

In better news, the recovery team for the Japanese Hayabusa 2 asteroid sampling mission has arrived in Australia and is in a 2 week quarantine.

Once out of the quarantine, the team will head to the Woomera Desert, where they are expected to receive the capsule on December 6.

To help build a fence?

A fence authorized by the Obama administration that Trump is just now getting around to erecting 24 hours before the election.

Surely, no one can or should question the timing.
Or the presence of 250 National Guard troops on standby.
Nothing to see here. It’s all that dastardly Obama’s doing.

And no, this isn’t a knock against people without degrees. This is a knock on people who had it no worse than others and yet think they deserve something for just being alive.

Fish tacos here with apple crisp for dessert. I learned something. I used packaged gluten free tortillas instead of making them because I was kind of tired. That particular brand apparently responds to be wrapped in foil and popped into the oven for 15 minutes by welding the tortillas together and baking them into a solid mass. (They’re a bit heavy on the xanthan gum.) Anyway, I managed to sort of separate one of them and flaked off bits of the other two and proceeded. The tacos were tasty, but a mess.

Just opened the Worldjam.vip show yesterday with a performance of “Dead Man’s Party”. That’s a wicked song for a band to cover with that much latency (we have members from Dallas to Tampa to Boston), but I think we pulled it off. And lest you think the mix is a bit rough, they have gotten better. I think I hear all the instruments.

World Jam 31 - Halloween Theme Night

Anyway, it’s a cool new way for bands to perform, though I’m not sure how I feel about the “play one song and never play it again—ever” format.

Oh, and I guess I should explain: It’s a Danny Elfman tune. He performed it on the movie “Back to School” starrning Rodney Dangerfield.

I got in the car today and started driving. I ended up in Pennsylvania. (I needed a, long drive. It’s been a lot of stress.)

Pleasant surprise: get off 79 south of Erie, in some of the reddest counties in the state… and yes, there are some Trump signs (but not wall to wall). But there were Biden signs, too. Quite a few of them, and in deep red small towns like Meadville and especially Franklin. That’s oil country, going way back to the 19th century. There were NO Hillary signs there in 2016.

Rolling south to Butler was a little grimmer. A bunch of businesses with big “Welcome Trump” signs for his visit there.

Stopped for the night just outside Pittsburgh. You know when you’re near the Allegheny County line because the signs change in a hurry. Lots of Biden signage around Allison Park.

Heading back home tomorrow with a minimum of human contact (though most in the small-town gas stations were masked!)… I’ll be interested to see what the signage looks like out to the east of here.

And yeah, signs don’t vote. But they’re at least something of a gauge. Seeing the Biden signs in Venango County made me a little hopeful. He doesn’t have to win there… just keep Trump from adding any votes to his 2016 totals.

But I have no idea what specific form that could take…

I’d argue that what they find appealing is not a deeply-encoded version of masculinity, but just his raw incontinent use of whatever power he has available. The base belief here is that power justifies itself, so “alpha male” means nothing but “gets away with doing what they want” and has no elements that constrain or form boundaries for what is disqualifying. Bad behavior, even “unmanly” bad behavior like whining, self pity, and self indulgence are still displays of power.

Conservatism already accepts that those with power have the right to break the rules and that it is inevitable, an inherent feature of power. Televangelists will rob their followers, any rich guy with power will do strange sex stuff…this is all okay as long as they’re not embarrassing or gross. Conservatism also already has a Procrustean relationship with its own core beliefs—ideals can be amputated or stretched to excuse abuse of powers, to the point that there is no core belief that constrains their wants or pursuits. But conservatism fetishizes hierarchy and rituals of discretion: you get to break the moral rules if you’ve clout enough and respect the etiquette norms of your caste.

But if you’re the bottom of the power hierarchy, there’s little chance that you’ll personally get to indulge your power-wants, and the appeal of Donald Trump is that he does the stupid, cruel, disgusting things these people see as the natural right of a powerful person…minus the decorum and taste that is typically used to disguise such behavior. That he is a mediocrity that has attained the power to engage in the transgression of all standards—especially the standards they believe are meaningful—is the appeal.

…but it’s not that they want something.

Like, as a leftist I can propose multiple schemata of how every person regardless of ability deserves some minimums of acknowledgement, dignity, belonging, etc.

What these people want isn’t any of that; it is specifically that they want dominance…power enough to do as they please, dictate to others but never be held to another’s standard. This is why they all behave the same way regardless of what demographic slice of income/education/region/etc they come from: their commonality is simply a desire for more license—the ability to abuse whatever power they can grasp, while the system constrains others from stopping or criticizing their use of power.

Leaning Trump—Pennsylvania

With Pennsylvania, I mentioned a few days ago the possibility that [begin CT] the fatal shooting of Walter Wallace Jr was deliberate in order to provoke the violence that did erupt in the streets [end CT] After all most police are firm supporters of Trump. Trump had believed that the “law and order” motif would help him retain the presidency but everything had quieted down so something needed to be done to reignite violence, and it succeeded.

It’s amazing how these voters do not see that the violence is happening in Trump’s America — and if he is re-elected, it will explode. The police will understand that they now have full permission for any violation of a citizen’s rights, especially if the citizen is a person of color or a Democrat. As Biden repeats, we need law and order with justice. Without justice, we are living under a tyrannical regime — and that’s where we are headed, unless we can regain full control of the government.

An interesting statement from Adam Silverman over at Balloon Juice:

Everyone needs to stop freaking out and knee jerking about which demographic is turning out in which ways for Biden versus 2016 or 2012 or 2008. The coalition that VP Biden has built, as well as that has coalesced around him, is not a recreation of President Obama’s 2008 or 2012 coalitions. Nor is it an attempt to recreate Secretary Clinton’s 2016 coalition and then expand it in the demographics that underperformed for her vis a vis for President Obama in 2008 and 2012. Rather, the coalition that VP Biden built was, as I forecast back in January 2019, initially from the left through to the center. With the addition of the NeverTrumpers, whether former Republicans or Republicans who recognize the threat that the Republic is in and are doing the right thing by crossing over and supporting VP Biden’s candidacy, and VP Biden’s ability to pull in non-college educated more rural and blue collar whites, especially white men, tells us something important. What VP Biden has built in terms of an electoral coalition is, for all intents and purposes, a national unity coalition. It now runs from the left anchored by Senator Sanders and all but his most rabid supporters all the way out to the center right with a number of Republicans for Biden, The Lincoln Project folks and their supporters, and at least half of the National Security Leaders for Biden*. This is something almost unseen in modern American political history. And it is important to remember just how broad, wide, and deep VP Biden’s coalition is when you see, hear, and/or read reporting on some proportion of what would normally be a Democratic demographic not turning out in the numbers like they did in 2016, 2012, or 2008. So don’t freak out. Realize just what the Biden coalition is and what it represents.

Re: Nevada.
thenevadaindependent.com

The Clark Dem firewall is now above 89,500 with a big new batch of mail that posted overnight. This is well above the 73,000-ballot firewall of 2016 and even above the 87,600 extrapolated number taking into account the increase in voters on the rolls since four years ago.

If you look at the math below, it already was very difficult for Trump. Now he has less of a chance to win than he does of getting a gaming license in Nevada.

I don’t know how much more mail will be returned before Tuesday, nor do I know how many ballots will be rejected (the rate so far shows it doesn’t change the lead very much). But the dice are cast, and they look like snake eyes for the GOP.

More than 400,000 ballots have been cast by mail in Clark County and more than 775,000 overall. The number of votes left for Election Day continues to dwindle, and the chances of an overwhelming GOP turnout to turn this around becomes less and less likely.

More later, but the math is just not there for Trump.

Videotape Reveals Corporate-Funded Plan To Try To Overturn A Trump Loss

Iframe

“Obviously we all want President Trump to win,” said Lisa Nelson, chair of the controversial American Legislative Exchange Council, which was responsible for getting the at-times-lethal “Stand your ground” laws enacted in several states.

“Really what it comes down to is the states and the state legislators,” Nelson noted in remarks in February, recorded in a videotape obtained by Documented, a watchdog group that tracks corporate influence on public policy.

Nelson and three Republican attorneys were already drafting letters then “questioning the validity” of a Trump loss that state legislator members of ALEC could submit to local officials to challenge the ballots.

“They can write a letter to the secretary of state questioning the validity of an election and saying what did happen that night,” Nelson told an election strategy session of the conservative Council for National Policy (see the video above). “So we are drafting a lot of those things … they can start to … exercise their political muscle in that area.”

I mean, we’ve already seen their game plan. They’re going to challenge the results in every state they lose, saying:

1) Ballots received after Election Day are invalid because wharrgarbl, and
2) Because the states mingled the ballots and didn’t separate them, all mail-in ballots should be invalidated.

I think their odds of success with such a strategy are exceedingly low, but we’ll just have to see the train wreck unfold live starting on Wednesday morning to find out.

Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation was rushed through, in part, to help in this ratfuckery.

If something like this goes to SCOTUS, will they actually uphold it?

Roberts, Kavanaugh, Barrett, and of course Thomas are all veterans of Bush v Gore in one way or another. That leaves Gorsuch as a potential swing vote?

Pro tip for the media: economically stressed people cannot afford to buy $40,000 long bed trucks and travel from state to state to participate in caravans that harass political candidates, blocking parkways and congregating on bridges.

I grew up in the industrial Midwest during the Golden Age of the working white man. All you needed was to sign on after high school, acquire some seniority, and you could afford a house and car and put your kids through state college without even having to send the wife off to work.

And those guys were every bit as bigoted & racist as the “economically stressed” ones of today.

Rendering this into childhood-simple “but we can be friends when this is done” is not just both-siderism, but the gamification of politics. That one party is an existential threat because they don’t treat it as a game but cheat and throw punches and the other party is supposed to behave as though this is normal wouldn’t be any more acceptable among adults.

No, wait, it would because society is willing to set 50% of people on fire rather than confront that the status quo is an aesthetic.

Whatta shocker. Anyways, you don’t “apply for dual US-Russian citizenship”. If you apply for Russian citizenship as a US citizen, that’s all Russia’s business. If he wanted to renounce US citizenship, I believe he’d have to show up in person at an overseas US consulate to finalize it, which would present certain…difficulties for him. So that’s out.

It makes no sense to me why this would help Snowden with his family issues. You don’t get a pass on crimes committed on US soil if you’re a foreign citizen (duh). His kid is a US citizen by birth and a Russian resident. I assume he’s being forced to do it because Russia will not extradite its citizens to any other country no matter what the circumstances, and the timing of this is interesting from a political perspective.

Simple criteria:

- Have they ever found themselves supporting something Trump did/said/suggested because it made liberals “angry”?

- Have they excused anything illegal/unethical/immoral act by Trump with the words “Well yeah, but Obama…”?

- Have they ever responded to criticism about the above with “How’s your 401K”?

If they’ve done any of the above in the last 4 years, then you’ve already tolerated plenty from them, so feel free to tell them to kiss your ass.

It’s Karl Popper’s “Paradox of Tolerance” which is described thusly:

Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.

In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.

- Karl Popper, The Open Society and Its Enemies, 1945

This also speaks to their political strength too. Biden knows he doesn’t need super big rallies to get his message out during the pandemic. Trump thinks attacking the most popular public servant in America is a good look yet we know he was trying to have it both ways by using Dr. Fauci’s image in an ad to imply that Dr. Fauci supports him. I’m sure when things cool down that Dr. Fauci will acknowledge that he voted for Biden he had for good reason wss quiet about it given these crazies.

Strangers in Their Own Land: Anger and Mourning on the American Right
amazon.com“…

“The celebrated sociologist Arlie Hochschild left Berkeley and went far outside her comfort zone to live among and report on Tea Party members in Louisiana over five years. With the clear-headed empathy she is famous for, she explored the central paradox of these political activists in the heart of ‘cancer alley’: they understand that the chemical and oil companies have destroyed their environment and sometimes their lives, but they remain ardent defenders of free market capitalism. Hochschild spent many hours—at church services, picnics and kitchen tables—probing the ways they struggle to reconcile their conflicting interests and loyalties. There could not be a more important topic in current American politics, nor a better person to dissect it. Every page—every story and individual—is fascinating, and the emerging analysis is revelatory.”

I don’t think this got posted, but it’s about a deep a dive as you’re going to see into the sleaziness that is Jerry Falwell Jr. and Liberty University. And it appears that Jr’s ability to keep a lid on things took a nosedive after he spent more time with Donald Trump.

Hint: Just because Donald Trump can get away with killing 230,000 people from COVID-19 doesn’t mean that Jerry Falwell Jr. can get away with being a sexual libertine in Lynchburg, Va.

‘They All Got Careless’: How Falwell Kept His Grip on Liberty Amid Sexual ‘Games,’ Self-Dealing

The deposed university president secured backing by ousting critics and hiring the family members and businesses of loyalists.

*snip*

When Trump began floating a potential bid for president in 2015, Falwell again started to speak favorably of Trump. It was around that time, six former Liberty faculty and officials told POLITICO, that Falwell’s behavior began to change. He became more outspoken. He grabbed national headlines by telling Liberty students in the wake of the mass shooting by a radical Muslim couple at a social-services center in San Bernardino, California, that more people should have concealed carry permits to “end those Muslims before they walked in.”

Almost, but not quite, IMO.
I think he will need to win at least one more of the double-digit-EV states (??OH? NC? FL? GA?) to make it a “lock”.
For me, the “lock” number is actually 161 or 172: Since the (D) ticket is so highly favored in the Western states, depending on how optimistic one is about Arizona, there are either 98 or 109 EVs pretty much a given for Joe/Kamala; so once they win (or are seen to win, or are expected to win, etc.) 161-172 in the East/Midwest, it’s likely to be “Game Over” for Team Trump.

Not just his experience as Biden’s VP but his Senate career too. Four of the six elections he ran in were also presidential election years- 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008. I don’t think anyone will compare Biden to Obama as a speaker ever but he speaks language that we can all understand and I think that is Biden’s underrated strength as a speaker and campaigner. Subtle touch of humility for the home-district: she is one smart campaigner (not hard: AOC is WAY smart, in general).

I just started wondering who she was running against. From the NY Times

[AOC’s] Republican challenger, John Cummings, a 60-year-old former schoolteacher at St. Raymond High School for Boys in the Bronx and a former officer for the New York Police Department, has collected $9.6 million in his first bid for office.

In the UK when a writ of dissolution for a General Election is passed in the House of Commons all the sitting MPs become immediately unemployed. They no longer represent their constituency and stop getting paid and there’s no redundancy payments or other benefits for them (I believe there is a pension scheme if they intend to retire). It helps for them that the time between the writ and the time when they hope to be re-elected is usually four or five weeks, not two years or more. Every election though has more than a few sitting MPs tossed out on their ear and, in extremis, claiming unemployment benefit afterwards.

This is some wild crap in Russia. Russian oligarch, who was known as the Sausage King, found dead from a crossbow wound in a sauna.

Vladimir Marugov and his partner were in an outdoor sauna when they were attacked, reportedly by two masked assailants.

The woman managed to escape through the window and call the police.

Detectives found the body of Mr Marugov, who owned some of Russia’s largest meat-processing plants, in the sauna with a crossbow next to it.

The attack happened at Mr Marugov’s countryside estate, about 40km (25 miles) outside the capital, Moscow, early on Monday morning, Russia’s Investigative Committee (similar to the FBI in the US) reported.

What takes you so long? UK polls, held on a Thursday for no appreciable reason, close at 10:00 p.m. and counting starts as soon as the ballot boxes arrive at the “count” where they are traditionally sorted and tallied by bank clerks. Almost all results will be declared by 5:00 a.m. Friday at the latest, most of them are done and dusted by 3:00 a.m. There’s normally a race between some constituencies to declare first, the fastest usually come in a bit after 11:00 p.m. Note that all Parliamentary constituencies are about the same size, absent a few geographical special cases like the Orkney and Shetland isles so the number of votes to be counted in each case is similar, there’s no Dixville Notch or the like.

If We Are Going to Recover from Trumpism, We Must Deny Charity to Trump’s Henchmen

Americans tend to be forgiving of our former officials. George W. Bush, whose Administration lied to the world in order to start a war, created a prison camp where people could be indefinitely detained, and instituted torture, has easily recast himself as a decent former President. People who devised his Administration’s criminal policies continue to have a voice in American politics. This history of automatically granting respect to people who have been close to power is what has continued to propel both Taylor’s career and his evident assumption that he is entitled to public trust. If we are going to recover from Trumpism, whenever the post-Trump era begins, this is one tradition that will have to be broken. Denying charity and, more important, respect to Taylor, whom we now know to be an architect of criminal and cruel policies as well as a liar, would be a good place to start.

We have Trump’s wall here at work. In the cafeteria, they have put plastic up around the area where the TV is.

Throwing bricks at TV’s was a lot more fun in the old days of CRT’s. A bar in New York had a weekly raffle where you could win a brick to throw at the TV when Howard Cosell was on Monday Night Football. (The bar would get their TV’s for each week from yard sales and such.)

Flatpanel TV’s aren’t as satisfying to smash, but I could still make bank for a chance to throw a brick at every appearance of Trump onscreen!

NYPD is prepping for election night/next day mayhem with the outcome - though I wonder that this is going to actually encourage violence and rioting as police use excessive force to stop whatever they deem to be a protest from occurring.

All we’ve seen to date is right wing domestic terrorists carrying out acts of violence against Democrats; engaging in violence and acts of intimidation such as bridge/road closures, which can have deadly consequences for those needing to be transported for health/safety reasons, etc.

Trump’s campaign manager is a bridge troll who did Christie’s bridgegate retaliation against Fort Lee for the mayor not backing Christie. So of course Trumpists see themselves as road warriors like Immortan Joe who can do whatever they please - right down to the witness me bits… it’s performative and it’s terrorism.

And Trump and GOP bear full responsibility for all of it - for inciting to violence and for carrying out the violence itself.

Oh, and Trump’s building yet another fence around the WH ahead of election day - to keep himself from seeing the people that boot Trump from *their* house, and because he’s going to be sitting in the bunker like a little bitch wondering how he can stay in office to avoid prosecutions that are only delayed while he’s in the WH.

They were going, that was not a good night for certain people. Remember the couple of people that were crying? I guess they don’t like a strong military. They don’t like cutting regulations. They don’t like low taxes. They don’t like Right to Try, you know Right to Try. All these things we’ve done. For the Vets, we got choice. We got choice for the Vets. Choice. Everybody said it was impossible. We’ve rebuilt our military. I told this story for the first time today. A general came into my office in my first few weeks, you remember? It was a little dangerous out there. President Obama left us with a few beauties, right? And I said to this general, “You better be prepared, because this is looking like it could really be conflict.” And he looked at me and he goes, “Sir, we have very little ammunition.” I said, “Say it again.” And I want to tell you the words, very little, he didn’t use because it was less than that.

I mean, he does have a track record of “disappearing” people.

There are all sorts of feuds going on between oligarchs. It really is an oligarchy, not a monarchy, and Putin sure seems to have less control over what happens in Russia and abroad than most people think (disturbingly so).

If I could, I would encourage all of the Biden supporters to stay home and celebrate. I know it would feel good to be with others, but I think Trump’s hope is that a lot of people celebrate, and a bunch of Trumpers attack them, and he can blame the attacks on the wrong people. It won’t change the outcome, but he can rant about it.

Note—not sure about other states, but they’re way off on South Carolina with this line:

A relatively small share of South Carolina voters will cast absentee ballots

As of October 31 (per state info)
Absentee ballots returned—1,251,000
Absentee ballots 2016—503,000

Election Day Eve and he’s still raging against Clinton. He has no message folks.

He does have a message…as does the whole GOP these days…but it’s not the specific words: the words, the names, the claims don’t matter, they’re interchangeable; what remains consistent is the base assumption that what is materially true is less important than emotional timbre—the collective feel of indignation, contempt, and glee at the license to hurt those they feel hurt by. The cruelty is the point, but the cruelty is premised upon an intoxicating unreality.

The central tenet of modern conservatism is that all problems emanate from a cabal of depraved individuals that hold a damning collective responsibility and deserve no franchise, nor even basic human rights. Even when conservatives hold all the power and exercise that power freely, their failures are actually the result of conspiracy by that cabal. When elite conservatives enact policy that harms their own voting base, it is especially the fault of the cabal.

Donald Trump is ultimately a narcissist who can never let go of grudges and will endless repeat scripts to sustain his ego, but it just so happens that his audience, having been raised with the aforementioned central tenet, are almost perfectly in rhythm with him.

There were some “conservatives” who didn’t support him because they thought he wasn’t really conservative. But after implanting all those fanatic judges for lifetime appointments, he has earned his creds and they are now fully on the Trump train. For example, Erick Erickson and Ben Shapiro. This may be a small number — but it could add to his count. Again, how he could garner all this support given his responsibility for 230,000+ American deaths is beyond understanding, but then cult members are incapable of independent thought.

This past weekend, our brother repeated all his favorites: Biden is senile and going to be 25th Amendmented within a month of taking office, Biden is totally corrupt but the MSM is refusing to report on it and it’s only the lonely warriors at Fox News who are bravely informing the public, better pull your money out of the market because you will lose everything if Biden wins, etc. etc.

He’s also gone after the lesser known upper corners. The NE where he’s from in Scranton but also the NW where Erie is. PA will be a steady but not as large win as MI and WI. There are a lot of especially in the rural center places that are long time Republican areas but if Joe can GOTV in the corners and cut Trump’s margins in the center, Pa comes home.

Kirk Cameron: Public health and social justice are a ‘disguised’ communist Halloween plot

Evangelical Christian actor Kirk Cameron on Monday asserted that social justice and public health are both part of a communist plot to undermine America.

Cameron made the comments on Fox News after he was asked to provide his analysis of the 2020 election.

“I can tell you that as I travel the country and teach in churches, I’m seeing a couple things that are just astounding,” the actor explained. “The enthusiasm level for people going out and rallying for a presidential election is unbelievable. Ninety-six mile car train, 30,000 vehicles, 58,000 people in Pennsylvania. Regardless of the side of the aisle you’re on, this enthusiasm level is unprecedented.”

“Secondly of all, I see people of faith waking up to the scary idea that socialism and communism are knocking on our doors this Halloween season,” he added. “And they’re disguised in the costumes of public health and social justice.”

Oh right wing Je$u$ makes you really really really stupid!

Here’s what I expect, since I experience it with Cruz and Beto. Both Republicans and Democrats will see increased votes. The Democrats because they want to fix things, and a lot of Republicans because they know more Democrats are showing up. The advantage in the increase in turnout will go to the Democrats. This means that races that should have been easily won by Republicans will be a lot closer, and those that are close will end up with Democrats. Apply this at all levels. I expect there to be shenanigans, but they won’t really affect the outcomes.

The COVID-created financial crises for cities has caused them to cut back on overtime for cops. These cops had been in Tall Clover before this - unlimited budgets under Trump and his fascist enablers.

But now the cops are suddenly in financial trouble, leading to cases like this with the LA Sheriff’s:

A citizen informant calls the police to report a vehicle which was on fire in a field adjacent to his residence. Arson investigators respond and determine the vehicle is owned by a deputy who has only been out on patrol for 14 months.
When they contacted the deputy, they were informed the vehicle must have been stolen from the deputy’s residence. The next day, the deputy filed a claim with his insurance company. Arson investigators for the Department later determined the fire was caused intentionally by applying an open flame to vapors of an ignitable liquid that was poured into the vehicle. A few months later, the deputy became a suspect because an expert hired by his insurance company tested the vehicle’s ignition and determined the car could not be driven without a transponder key due to an anti-theft system which had been installed in the vehicle. Investigators thereafter secured a search warrant for the deputy’s cell phone records and determined he had been in the area where the vehicle was abandoned and torched, rather than at his father’s home in another city where he had previously told investigators he was during the relevant time period. In addition to the three vehicles he owned, the deputy had a home with a substantial mortgage and three credit cards overdue.

You know Trump is going to keep doing these Nazi rallies even when he isn’t President anymore, right?

I’m hoping he will be in the slammer. It might be good for him. Look what it did for Paul Manafort. Manafort may have added a few years to his life by shaping-up.
Trump, without his usual Big Macs, could shape right up. He’d have to lose the hairpiece though. I don’t think prison would allow it.
Day before election my imagination runs wild.

Wonder why the brain-dead DC Press Corpse hasn’t brought up making sure soldier votes aren’t discarded if they come in past tomorrow even though they are postmarked by the 3rd?

I hope the next elections will not be overshadowed by a pandemic and we can return to more “normal” voting, although early voting should be expanded along with additional polling places.

He’ll try, but I’m guessing that as the Not President, he won’t be able to get waivers on crowd sizes from local authorities, and having lost to Joe Biden, he’ll be so diminished in the eyes of his followers that a lot of them will start pretending that they never really supported him, or it was just about tax cuts or whatever other bullshit they want to tell themselves as to why the racism and misogyny and incompetence weren’t deal breakers.

He won’t be able to afford them.

Trump in the slammer without hairpiece, make-up, and in an ill-fitting orange jumpsuit will look pretty pathetic. Not to mention his attitude since he won’t have a cellphone, access to Twitter, and will not be surrounded by guards who are required to be deferential to him.
