Ahmadinejad: Convert or Die

Wed, Dec 6, 2006 at 8:57:19 am PST

Iran’s madman president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tells the West to convert to Islam or die.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Western leaders to follow the path of God or “vanish from the face of the earth”.

“These oppressive countries are angry with us ... a nation that on the other side of the globe has risen up and proved the shallowness of their power,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern town of Ramsar, the semi-official news agency Mehr reported Wednesday.

“They are angry with our nation. But we tell them ‘so be it and die from this anger’. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth,” he said.

The outspoken president also maintained Iran’s defiance over its controversial nuclear programme, saying it was on course to fully master nuclear technology.

“Thank to God’s help, we have gone all the way and are only one step away from the zenith. We hope to have the big nuclear celebration by the end of the year (March 2007),” Ahmadinejad said, echoing comments he has made on numerous occasions in recent months.

From Baker-Hamilton dhimmi report:

Given the ability of Iran and Syria to influence events within Iraq and their interest in avoiding chaos in Iraq, the United States should try to engage them constructively. In seeking to influence the behavior of both countries, the United States has disincentives and incentives available. Iran should stem the flow of arms and training to Iraq, respect Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and use its influence over Iraqi Shia groups to encourage national reconciliation. The issue of Iran's nuclear programs should continue to be dealt with by the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany. Syria should control its border with Iraq to stem the flow of funding, insurgents and terrorists in and out of Iraq.

Are they serious?

“They are angry with our nation. But we tell them ‘so be it and die from this anger’. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth,”

This is merely rhetorical flourish in the classic Persian style (see Omar Khayyam). When Ahmadinejad says "you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth" what he's really saying is that the U.S. must end it's inequitable policies in the ME and embrace constructive dialogue with Iran and Syria regarding Palestine.

39 Karagush  Wed, Dec 6, 2006 7:05:27am

well, more worrying to me, is that the muslim form for going to war is that one must explicitly tell ones enemies "Convert or die."

This guy just did that.
Reasoned conclusion: I am more than a little concerned that he is following the form. Then he can kill us in any way he pleases with the blessing of allah. After all, he gave us a couple chances telling the west, our president and the american people that we have a chance to embrace Allah, or suffer the consequences.

Timur built a tower of skulls from the civillian populace of a city that refused to convert (or open its gates to him in surrender.)

Just a thought from someone who has read thier histories over and over.

Okay, I'm drinking a lot of coffee this morning (don't ask). I see this threat a little differently. The dems are coming in to power. Iran is rising, scaring the hell out of Americans. For the first time since maybe Truman, the dems have a chance to prove their worth. Can they stop Iran and Islamofascism? Can they calm Americans down? Can they protect Israel?

The more the Dinnerjacket threatens, the more the dems have to respond. Will it be the party of Dhimmi Carter? Or Truman/JFK? The dems have to start sounding a little stronger, or they will lose the American people, big time. I do have faith in the USA.

Because like so many good liberals and children of the 60's, they have a wish in their minds to control reality and that reality in their reptilian minds is to seek their own and everyone around them that reminds them of superior men and women their own deaths....

...they desire nonexistence...and Islam is the latest bag of crap to come down the pike they would think will achieve it.

They desire suicide in a nutshell.

101 Pickle  Wed, Dec 6, 2006 7:47:11am

Of course Ahmadinejad knows we aren't afraid of him. But we weren't the audience. The audience was the middle east and Iranians in particular. To that culture, failure to respond violently to this sort of provocation is clear and definitive evidence that we can't and that we are therefore weaker than Iran--because to their minds if we could attack we would. It is unthinkable that one would have the means to utterly eradicate a clear enemy and fail to do so for reasons of morality; that morality does not exist in Perso-Arab culture.

These monkeys talk shit for their own weak minded home audiances, and for the weak kneed moonbats in Europe and America to have an excuse for form a puddle to stand in, but in fact, America will NEVER be islamic or have more than token Muslims. The whole damned country is armed to the teeth. And there are more than enough like myself who would view Civil War as a viable action, in fact the only acceptable action. First to go will be the cavemen, then the traitors who enabled them.

Well, you might want to tell him sometime, he's sure to notice certain things sooner or later. Just a thought.

OT Don't know if you've already read this article but it is rank with anti-semitism. As usual, the goal is to prove jews are responsible for the Middle East conflict and any future major blow-up

A Kos diary nameed Pe on posted an article on november 18 which smears Michael Ledeen as BOTH a fascist AND an isreali tool/spy etc etc

In 1974 Ledeen studied Italian fascism in Rome. In the late 70's, while working as an consultant to Italian Intelligence, Ledeen was allegedly tied to the Italian P2, a fascist organization that did most of its dirty work at that time.
Sometime around 1980 the CIA allegedly listed Ledeen as an agent of influence for Israel.

and so forth.. dark tones of jews manipulation the government etc.

He goes on to claim Ledeen will be the primary suspect responsible if the Middle East erupts into a shooting war.

What makes me think that people in charge and others arent taking this threat seriously? Well, ok:

1) Our leaders sitill have a significant number of individuals bleating that we could be "peace partners in Iraq" with these two-faced Iranian and Syrian Politicians.

2) Our public consists of a significant number of people who insist there is no war, and that this is all a propaganda campaign to grab power for evil oil and whatever intrests for the benefit of Republican political Dynasties. (SPIT)

3) I see fEw people outside this website who really get the nature of this threat in Lebanon. Maybe its cause I live in California, but I think its just human nature to want to defer till later an unpleasant mess that really needs to be cleaned up, today. Whatever the cause, we should take seriously Hizbollah's intention s in Lebanon, and also view with great consternation Olmert's under-urgency of reaction to these close regional developments.

4) Untill a time when a majority people express publicly that they think we are at war, that this war endanger all of our futures, and that we need to face up to this threat in some way (not just defer it, or wave it off as something to worry about overseas) I will continue to feel like we arentr taking this seriously.

Sun Tzu says the best time to prepare for war is as one is talking peace. I can only hope that is our path at this time. But i have no faith AT ALL in the present conditions in Washington. Like JAG, I see the present play as a situation in which I am only a helpless passenger. I voted, but was outnumbered. Now I must watch something I understand far better than the people surrounding me.

Remember, I speak, however haltingly, our enemies' language. And I know how they think. What I hear worries me. We cannot dismiss these guys intentions.

UNTILL PEOPLE IN POER STAT SOUNDING A LOT MORE LIKE TAXFREKILLER, I WILL BE WORRIED. TFK'S RHETORIC WOULD BE FAR CLOSER TO THE CORRECT RESPONSE TO THESE ENEMIES, THAN PREZ HILLARY'S.

And this is news?

The soldiers taken by Hizb'Allah were reported seriously injured at the time. I remember speculating then that the chance of them surviving was remote and that they were almost certainly already dead.

The fact that Hizb'Allah made claims like "the file will be closed" on them at the time tended to reinforce that.

I second the "no live prisoners for dead ones" thought. Israel has traditionally been generous to a fault in prisoner exchanges, but this would go way too far, and in fact create an incentive for terrorists like Hizb'Allah to kill captives.

A must-read article fromMort Zuckerman:

The Mullah menace

on [Link: www.jewishworldreview.com...]

Question: What's the most dangerous geopolitical development in the 21st century? Answer: Iran's emergence as the Middle East regional superpower. Why? Because it places the center of the world's increasingly stretched energy resources more and more under the influence of an oil-rich, fundamentalist, pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic regime that has not only nuclear ambitions but the means to realize them.

[...]

Death and destruction. Look at the nature of the beast. It has hardly been talking peace. It has intensified its murderous anti-Semitic, anti-Israel rhetoric and reiterated its long-held position that the Middle East should be entirely Islamic, stripped of all western influence.

The clock of military danger is superfast digital; the clock of diplomacy is 20th-century analog. All the West's diplomatic efforts have failed to induce Iran to refrain from developing nuclear weapons, which it contends — utterly unconvincingly — that it is not doing. Europe has been supportive, but Russia and China are playing both sides at the United Nations. Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, meanwhile, gleefully heaps scorn on the world body: "We are guided by what the Hidden Imam tells us, not by what you dictate in your resolutions."

[...]

There is no magic bullet here, of course, but we cannot just sit back. We must find a way and the will to show the mullahs we are deadly serious, or we will face the worst crisis in international relations since the Cuban missile crisis.

The West will have to decide what is more dangerous — to attack the infrastructure of the Iranians sooner rather than later or to deal with an Iranian nuclear capability after the fact. The choices are not between good and bad but between bad and worse — and the longer we delay, the more dire those bad and worse choices will become.

Read it all.

Our military capacities are not in doubt today. It is our moral self-confidence that is in question. What was it that stopped us from confronting Iran in 1979, except a lack of confidence in our own rightness, and an unwillingness to defend ourselves for our own sakes? Had we removed the Iranian regime in 1979, thousands of Americans would have been saved, and children across the world would not have grown up with sword verses rising in their minds as they give their lives to jihad. Consider the Japanese—and ask whether it would have been in our interest to have left the regime of 1945 in power, to continue preaching religious militarism and training kamikaze. The best thing Americans did for themselves (and, incidentally, the kindest thing for the Japanese) was to burn that regime to the ground. So it is today. The Islamic State—Totalitarian Islam—must go. And it is the moral responsibility of every American to demand it.

Right! So, do YOU, Iran, "follow the path of God for THIS Day", brought by Baha'u'llah, the Glory of God?

Did you "follow the path of God" when you forced Him, meek and blameless, to wear a bone-cutting, scarring 90-pound iron collar, and to rot for 7 weeks in the stinking, vermin-infested Black Hole of Tehran?

Do you "follow the path of God" when He tells humankind to secure the peace of the nations, the Oneness of Humankind, equality of men and women, JUSTICE for all and rational inquiry into truth, for THIS Day?

By your own words, Mahmoud, when you turn away from the path of God you condemn Iranians to 'vanish from the face of the Earth!'

The USMC barracks bombing may never have happened. The botched hostage rescue attempt- gone. Hizballah, for that matter, may never have happened. Lebanon may not be in the situation it is today. Syria would be as isolated as North Korea...

The Shah was on the verge of imposing sweeping democratic reforms before his ouster. Carter sat on his hands and watched it all go down the drain. That being said, as much as I love Reagan he failed to respond to the '84 barracks bombing- a horrible mistake.

Carter = worst. president. ever.

Can anyone fill me in on the question du jour? WHY does the media want to bow and scrape so bad? Why do they want us to lose the war? Why do they kowtow to the Islamics? I can't come up with a single GOOD reason.

There are several reasons. The first is our old friend cognitive dissonace. They believe that conservatives, Republicans, GW Bush, white men, and Christians are evil. Ergo, anyone who opposes any of the above are good. Facts to the contrary are ignored. Facts that can be spun in support of this world view are so spun. Facts that do, in fact, support it are shouted from the rooftops non-stop. And they don't even know that they are doing it.

That reason does not apply to some. They know Iran, Islamofacism, etc. are the true evil in the world. They are just cowards, though, afraid to voice what they know because of PC, scorn from their fellow leftists, and frankly being beheaded or otherwise killed by the Islamiacs.

There are other reasons, but those are the big ones.

I'll convert or die after I run out of rounds. That may take a while.......

I'd sooner see Allah die. I think I'll devote my resources to that particular end.

I think Reagan had bigger fish to fry at the time- the USSR...

Ah, but if he had turned his attention on the Islamist threat, imagine the world today.........

/Ronald Wilson Reagan- the greatest POTUS of my (short) lifetime, may he rest in peace.

The choice is simple. Do we refuse to convert and anger a mere man or do we convert and anger our Maker, the Ancient of Days? That's a pretty easy decision, considering that all Islam can do is kill me. Come back when you have a real threat.

a big nuclear party

?

So that means we're all going to die in March 2007. Since Bush is a lame duck and Baker is dictating foreign policy and Europe doesn't give a shit.

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

Who would think a fictional king in a fictional land could be more inspiring than what we have now?

Iran’s madman president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tells the West to convert to Islam or die.

I prefer to say to Ahmmadinnerjacket, "Bring it on a**hole and let's see who has more juice, your Islam or my chainsaw!

Since Islam is a religion of peace, and there is no coercion in religion, Admajibjab is just one of the tiny number of the misunderstanders of Islam.
