I’m not sure he would have coasted, though. What is true is that had he called the Tea Party crowd out, he’d either be winning big or (less likely but still quite possible) losing big. Instead, he has opted for the middle strategy favored by most politicians.

I really am starting to feel like a sucker for admiring John McCain. I wanted to vote for him in 2008 until he brought out the homunculus. That was a shocker. It sure seemed like an extremely cynical ploy to court the religious right. As it happens, I didn’t vote at all.

Even after his campaign got Palinized, there were several moments that stood out to me. He was at a campaign stop or town hall thing somewhere, and a woman in the audience claimed that Obama was “an Arab”. He was quick to shut her down politely, but firmly. I also thought his concession speech was quite classy, and I was more than annoyed when the shitheads in the audience yelled all through it and booed toward the end as soon as he said
the word “Obama”.

But now he’s acting just like any other disingenuous, pandering politician.

My dad would promise the kid another five bucks if the car was unharmed when he came back. Dad came back after the game and there was the kid, guarding the car. He earned his five spot.

Kind of a dick move if you ask me. One of the coolest things about watching Cubs games back in the day was seeing the handful of guys on the roof(s), drinking and grilling.

Mark Cuban offered to buy the Team and do what he did with that shit team Mavericks.. Make them a world class organization…and get the best players…

You are right Hoops. I have a lot to disagree with Cuban about, but he would have injected some instant juice into the self satisfied Cubbie corner. He is a fans owner, no doubt. Baseball missed a really big chance to improve their depreciated product.

Now what a second..I grew up a Giants and Sox Fan..I will always love them..I follow them..But I always felt you should root for the Home team also..
/Indy doesn’t have a team..So I kind of lucked out…….But with football.. I grew up a Raiders and 49ers fan as a kid.. I love em..But I have been rooting for the Colts the last couple of years as the home team..
