Video: Meat Loaf Serenades Mitt Romney

Obama has Morgan Freeman and Bruce Springsteen, Romney has Meat Loaf and Ted Nugent
WTF • Views: 30,948

Wow, talk about a prized endorsement! Mitt Romney and Meat Loaf!

Here we see the great Mr. Loaf “interpreting” America the Beautiful, all up in Mitt Romney’s face. I’ll bet the Governor truly enjoyed that and wasn’t faking it at all!

Not for nothing, but someone did a Howard Dean on that clip - isolating Meat from the sound board. The other clips I've seen didn't have his voice that far in front of the mix.

No, because the PLA buys ammo from the same plants. Chinese rifle ammo, unlike some other things made there, has so far always been manufactured with proper quality control.

There's gotta be something we can sell to all these Romney supporters. They're obviously ready to buy anything.

How about the details of 1 million facebook users for $50.00...(gotta make a profit after all)

Details of 1 million Facebook users sold for $5

"I just bought more than 1 million ... Facebook data entries. OMG!" wrote Bogomil Shopov, a blogger and digital-rights activist, on his blog Tuesday.

Shopov said the data contained names, user IDs and email addresses which were not all publicly available — and that Facebook later asked him to delete his post detailing the purchase.

"We would like you to send us this file, delete it, tell us if you have given a copy of it to someone, give us the website from which you bought it including all transactions with it and the payment system and remove a couple of things from your blog," a Facebook employee from the "policy" department allegedly told Shopov. "Oh and by the way, you are not allowed to disclose any part of this conversation; it is a secret that we are even having this conversation."

Well obviously that didn't work...

Excellent -- since installing the caching system for comments older than 7 days, my log tells me that the system has now served more than 250 megabytes out of the cache, instead of pulling it out of the database. And that's for less than one day. At this rate, the cache will save more than 2 gigabytes of data transfer per week. That will have a major positive effect on database performance.

I ran over a deer once. I was on ice so I was unable to apply the brakes without getting into an uncontrollable slide, but I tried to drive around it. It moved in front of me anyway and fell under the car. When I managed to stop, I took a few seconds to find a knife so I could put it out of its misery if it were badly injured.

When I went back to find the animal, it was gone. There was no evidence it was bleeding, and I had no idea which direction it took off so I couldn't even follow it to check on it.

My brother hit one on the expressway about a year ago, and the story goes, that the thing bounced off the front of the car, hit the windshield, and exploded on the highway.

Powell's former Chief of Staff: 'My party is full of Racists'

My party, unfortunately, is the bastion of those people -- not all of them, but most of them -- who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that's despicable.

I'm betting the Colonel is in for a rough ride the next couple of days.

I Love Mitt
But Can't Vote for Him

The singer -- who moved to Austin earlier this year -- never registered in Texas, according to The Smoking Gun. And the deadline to sign up, October 9, is over and out.

So Meat Loaf -- who stood side-by-side with Romney Thursday (above) and either butchered or honored "America the Beautiful" depending on your ear -- recently requested an absentee ballot from California, the state he abandoned last year.

According to the CA DMV you must be a resident to vote in CA. We don't know if Mr. Loaf got a ballot, but if he did he shouldn't use it.

I just noticed Sununu's supposed retraction of the race card played against Powell.

Sununu backed off his remarks shortly after his CNN appearance, issuing a statement that said Powell is a friend and, “I respect the endorsement decision he made, and I do not doubt that it was based on anything but his support of the President’s policies."

Let's unpack that a bit.

"and I do not doubt"

Is equivalent to "I believe"

"it was based on anything but"

Is equivalent to:
"It was not based on"

So what this apology actually said was:

“I respect the endorsement decision he made, and [I believe] that [it was not based on] his support of the President’s policies."

He didn't walk back his statement at all, he just reworded it.

Take the CNN poll as an example. O +4 with a MOE of 4%. CNN calls this "tied."

In reality, that means if you repeat the poll, 95% of the time, the result will be somewhere between a tie and an 8% lead for Obama.

In other words, it's definitely not a "tie."

152 engineer cat  Sat, Oct 27, 2012 1:44:56pm

well within a margin of error

real clear politics has the national poll average today with romney ahead 1% - well within the margin of error - and the no-toss-ups electoral map with obama getting 290 electoral votes - ahead and with colorado to spare if he loses that

if we are to believe the polls as they report it on this particular day, romney will be slightly ahead in the popular vote, which of course doesn't count, and obama will win with a state or two to spare

Not saying that it is cool that they all don't count internet polls, just that RCP isn't simply doing it because of their (well-known) bias. It's just common practice.

so you are saying that despite the preponderance of evidence, you are still holding out hope for a romney victory?

re: #176 engineer cat

as i said before, "within" is not "ahead", and obama is ahead in ohio if you go by an average of all polls

real clear politics has obama ahead by average in ohio by 2.3%, but romney only 1% "ahead" in the national poll average.

what's your thought on that?

and, as i also said before, if you throw out all states that are "within", by your standard, obama still leads in the electoral college among the states that are left

Margin of error is most meaningful for a single poll. If you're taking multiple samplings, and the results are pretty much the same, then your confidence grows that the result actually reflects the population.

Now, the methodology is different from different polling outfits, but if you're getting 5-7 outfits all getting the same results, you would be on solid ground to say that Obama has a narrow lead. You'd be on much less solid ground to say that this is tied.

If you want to really understand the state of the race look at the bookmakers. The only thing people in that business get really emotional about is their money, they aren't about to let their own political biases jeopardize it. If they're offering the public a 2 to 1 against opportunity then that means they think the odds are worse than that. Bookies who want to stay in business only offer lower odds than they can afford.

Is voter fraud being committed in Ohio?

A source, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a volunteer outside the Morse Road polling center. She has witnessed Somalis who cannot speak English come to the polling center. They are brought in groups, by van or bus. The Democrats hand them a slate card and say, “vote Brown all the way down.” Given that Sherrod Brown is the incumbent Democrat Senator in Ohio, one can assume that this is the reference.

Yeah. An un-named source who claims that non English-speaking scary African non-citizens are being bused en masse to a single polling station, and are being coached to vote for a single candidate.

Riot arrests blamed for 'anarchy'

The arrest of leaders of criminal gangs in the wake of last year's riots has led to an increase in "chaos, violence and anarchy" in neighbourhoods across the country, a report has claimed.

Prime Minister David Cameron promised an "all-out war on gangs and gang culture" following the riots which brought mayhem to many English cities in the summer of 2011, and police have responded by arresting many of those associated with criminal groups.

But the report by the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), obtained by The Observer ahead of its publication on Monday, found the removal of established gang leaders has led to the breakdown of criminal codes of behaviour and a "marked increase" in violence.

Nate Silver is a man of very small stature, a thin and effeminate man with a soft-sounding voice that sounds almost exactly like the “Mr. New Castrati” voice used by Rush Limbaugh on his program. In fact, Silver could easily be the poster child for the New Castrati in both image and sound. Nate Silver, like most liberal and leftist celebrities and favorites, might be of average intelligence but is surely not the genius he's made out to be. His political analyses are average at best and his projections, at least this year, are extremely biased in favor of the Democrats.

Well, that all sounds very authoritative!

Well, that all sounds very authoritative!

Not only that, but

He claims to have been highly accurate in predicting the 2008 election results, and perhaps he was. But it's highly unlikely his current methods and projections will have the level of accuracy unless he changes then quite a lot between now and election day. The race has shifted profoundly in favor of Mitt Romney while Nate Sillver is still projecting an Obama win. Unless he changes that, the credibility he earned in 2008 will be greatly diminished after this years election.

Because this guy says so!

Dean Chambers, an Internet journalist and commentator, launched his writing career by creating an alternative conservative student newspaper while in college. Dean grew up in what James A. Baker called "the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts" and has experienced first-hand the fruits of progressive public policy. Look to Dean's writings to find a uniquely individualist point of view focusing on limited government, individual liberty, and conservative values.

Not at all surprised by that. Problem with Chambers is that there are post-election checks on pollsters (and associated number-crunchers) accuracy. Last presidential election, Silver had less than a 1% deviation from the actual election results, and accurately predicted results from 49 of 50 states, and all Senatorial races.

QStarNews predicts the turnout nationally will includes 34.8 percent Republicans, 35.2 percent Democrats, and 30.0 percent independents. QStarNews predicts turnout will rise by about four percent, or a total of about 130,955,000 voters including about 600,000 for third party candidates and the rest going to Romney and Obama.

Charles, if you are around, when someone posted a page link, or a link to an old comment, didn't it open in a new window? Now we go to the link/page & have to navigate back to where we were.

Or is it just moi?

Wow

Exactly. Nobody even has the option to make such a claim. Transparent bullshit.

Especially when they involve Romney's winning Oregon. Honestly, the only way I see a Romney win is if the hurricane wipes out power to costal areas of NY and PA so both of those states' electoral college votes are assigned based on inland redneck voters. Sadly there are probably some GOP operatives hoping for that kind of catastrophic storm story.

re: #235 Targetpractice

And yet, we got Dean Chambers declaring them all inaccurate because Dick Morris thinks Romney's gonna win by landslide, taking Minnesota, Michigan, and Nevada as part of the clean sweep.

If current projections hold true, the wingnuts are in for one hell of a shock on Election Night. They're gonna spend at least a day going "How did he win? Nobody I know voted for him!"

Fraud!

11 ways Romney could still win without Ohio

1. giant asteroid
2. plague of frogs
3. transporter from star trek

Basically, by this point in the game, almost every scenario where Romney could win without Ohio involves him taking every remaining swing state. And historical precedent is that candidates who can't win Ohio don't generally win the presidency.

re: #243 Targetpractice

May have to strip that honor from Morris after the election, because Chambers' "unskewed" predictions are such that I'm dying with laughter over here:

The UNSKEWED Projection of the 2012 Presidential Race

He's actually got Romney picking up PA, OR, and NV.

Here's a question I continually ask myself when I read stuff like this. Do these guys TRULY BELIEVE what they are writing? Like, in his mind, does he really see that all the polls are wrong, improperly weighted, etc - and he just knows that he's correct? Is it true belief or is it just done as a desperate 'please rile up the base' type of maneuver?

3 1/2 hours till Game time here in Oklahoma. It's already completely insane here. This morning I dressed Winston in his pirate outfit and walked him over to campus to watch College Game day from ESPN. LOL. He has never been around 10's of thousands of students drinking since the sun came up.
He had so much fun.. His head was on a swivel having cheerleaders and thousands of girls petting him.. Ahh What's his name? He is so cute!
Yes Winston.. You owe me..Who else would bring you to the middle of crazy?
I sold my ticket for 700 bucks..It cost me 97 dollars last spring.
We missed the Notre Dame Marching band in Noble this afternoon. It's just to crazy today to drive anywhere.
Go Oklahoma!

God Country Notre Dame..

or the scenario I described above where the hurricane makes it too difficult for costal residents to vote so inland PA and NY decide the election.

There is no way Romney wins without Ohio, because if he can't win Ohio, he sure as shit isn't winning Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania.

I'm inspired to draw an eight sided symbol and my imagination tells me to place in it a simple four letter word

My mind comes up with something that looks like this

rile up the base, a maneuver, a page click winning $ making scheme.

I'd guess his hope is to find some rich right-wingers to donate money to support his unique methodology. Hey, best of luck to him on that one.

I'm leaning towards a little of column A, little of column B. I think there's a split between those who say Obama can't win purely out of partisan politics, but just as many who say it because they refuse to acknowledge the reality that Romney's getting his ass kicked.

Dang, I just saw on the local news about a guy driving to the Tigers game who got shot by the I-96 sniper near Webberville, out near Lansing. After he get shot he stopped at a gas station and went in to ask for help. The bullet went through his door, through his wallet and into the buttocks. An eyewitness said he was worried that it was going to cause him to miss the game tonight.

There have been dozens of cars shot at on a corridor of I96 around Howell in the last couple weeks. Hope they catch the sniper before he kills. I can't wait to hear their sob story.

Those inland voters are going to have their own problems to deal with when Sandy turns into the Nor'easter. Lots of rain and predicted blizzard conditions in the upper elevations.

Unless something changes radically it's going to be an electoral landslide for Obama.

I'll take that bet... I see a squeaker, results won't be official until mid-afternoon the next day.

Yeah, that's the place, but the shooter has been picking random places along that corridor.
