Dumbest Man on Internet: “GOOD LORD HE’S STOKING A RACE WAR”

DERP

There have been plenty of whacked out wingnut responses to the President’s remarks on race and the Zimmerman murder trial today, but Jim Hoft, the renowned Dumbest Man on the Internet, demonstrates again why he so completely deserves the title with a series of short, declarative, utterly deranged sentences: Obama Stokes the Fire: “Trayvon Martin Could Have Been Me” (Video) | the Gateway Pundit.

Good Lord - He’s stoking a race war.
Obama throws fuel on the fire!

What a disgrace!

Don’t even look at the comments; they’re worse.

Says the guy who links to and quotes articles from white nationalist websites.

Forget the other polls!

VDARE has the breakdown…

“Four beers, eight tequila shots, and one beer bong!”

I’d say that makes it a successful speech for the president! It certainly could have been worse.

VDARE has the complete breakdown, although he is a bit shady on the demographics.

Of course, there are always the naysayers.

I’m an extremely white dude who could not be mistaken for anything but a white dude. I live in a majority black neighborhood. I don’t own a gun. I imagine if/when the race war begins, I’d be the first to go.

Somehow, I’m not really interested in breaking my lease.

Good Lord - He’s stoking a race war.

Maybe he’s right. Maybe whites will be made so uncomfortable by hearing that black people have experiences that are significantly different from their own that they go crazy and start killing.

Seriously, what the hell goes through their minds? It’s like they think that having a black President means they can now get away with shit they couldn’t before - “We elected a black President, so now it’s okay to say ‘n*****’, and to talk about “The Food Stamp President” and call a suburban black teenager a Thug for getting killed in his own gated community for looking like he didn’t belong there.”

Given the fact that it is a pretty common occurrence to hear quotes from individuals at public events as well as online articles and comments that openly call for violent action taken toward the First Family, liberals, and non-whites and women, it is amazing that there hasn’t been more incidents than have occurred over the past few years.

The far right is desperately wanting a race war, and I fear that it is just a matter of time before one of them attempts a high-profile event.

FAA Warns: Do Not Shoot At Drones

People who fire guns at drones are endangering the public and property and could be prosecuted or fined, the Federal Aviation Administration warned Friday.

The FAA released a statement in response to questions about an ordinance under consideration in the tiny farming community of Deer Trail, Colo., that would encourage hunters to shoot down drowns. The administration reminded the public that it regulates the nation’s airspace, including the airspace over cities and towns.

A drone “hit by gunfire could crash, causing damage to persons or property on the ground, or it could collide with other objects in the air,” the statement said. “Shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in criminal or civil liability, just as would firing at a manned airplane.”

Of course it’s pure hyperbole to say Hoft is literally the dumbest man on the Internet.

34 RadicalModerate  Fri, Jul 19, 2013 1:12:29pm

Given Jim Hoft’s track record, I think that he should be one of the very last people to make statements about race relations.

January, 2012:
Jim Hoft Continues To Promote Racism At His Site

In just the past two weeks, Talking Points Memo described a completely fabricated Hoft attack on the President as a “fact free racist conspiracy” and a Los Angeles Times columnist called out a different story by Hoft as “baldly racist.” Hoft’s comments on those stories have been cesspools of openly racist comments.

But before going into more detail about the recent examples, let’s review some of the history:

Hoft had earlier been criticized by a conservative blogger for linking to the white supremacist blog for the Council of Conservative Citizens, which he has done multiple times. Here’s my previous description:
[…]
Furthermore, the Council of Conservative Citizens is not the only racist source Hoft uses. Hoft was called out by myself and by our local Village Voice owned alternative weekly, the Riverfront Times, for using a video from the openly racist website “Diversity is Crap.” Here’s an example of the type of comment that post from Hoft attracted:

Don’t know about bad bunnies, but the feral hogs might get them. The damned varmints have practically laid siege to the place, even wandering around in the middle of town. It is legal to shoot them outside the city limits, but farmers have trouble getting hunters to go after them, despite the massive number of guns and loudly aggressive gun owners around. ‘Tis a mystery. They are very smart and wily animals, though, and it may be that the average local gun nut is simply outmatched. SYG against a charging 500 lb boar may also require more bowel control than they think they can manage.

I think I can compete on my own merit, but the thing is that I chose my parents very well. I came from a solidly middle/upper middle class home with parents who loved me, my brother and each other very much. There weren’t any huge issues anyone needed to resolve and our lives were stable. Was it perfect? No, of course not, nothing is, but it was probably as good as it gets. And oh yeah, I’m white.

I can’t help but feel I’ve been very fortunate and might have some vague responsibility towards those who didn’t have my advantages.

America’s is supposed to be colorblind.

Which is why a bunch of “colorblind” people that are white have to hover about vetting the statement of black and brown people to make sure they’re not agitating about race…

…because that could lead to riots.

50 CarolJ  Fri, Jul 19, 2013 1:32:09pm

re: #18 Ian G.

Hee, Hee, Hee. All this week the reactionaries have been jonesing for a race riot, even some broken windows. Instead there have been peaceful marches and rallies and commentary. And the rallies have been integrated ones-notice all the white people who are marching alongside the black marchers, the brown marchers, the Asian marchers. No race riot would have been integrated like that.

And no black leader is trying to start one either. Obama has been the soul or restraint and compassion, Sharpton trying to help people rally peacefully. The NAACP has been working on a million-signature petition.

And lets’ face it. Riots start immediately after a stimulus. It’s been a week. If one hasn’t started by now, it won’t start. And this isn’t 1992 or even 1967 anymore.

I have hunted wild pigs semi-successfully. Semi, meaning that I was within shooting distance of them, with them in my sights, but my muzzleloader misfired. A friend, shooting one of those scoped rifles mentioned above, scored a nice one, however, as did our “Native Guide” - the guy we were visiting. They were nice enough to share with me, after viciously ribbing me about “Doug’s Pop-Gun”.

That’s what scoped rifles are for.

I have a skull from a boar killed on that ranch. Big, nasty tusks.

You just have to remember that some Razorbacks are bigger than others and might shoot back.

Yep.

An attorney for the pension funds said he feels blindsided because he agreed to delay the emergency hearing five minutes at the request of attorneys for Gov. Rick Snyder. He was seeking a temporary restraining order to block the historic bankruptcy filing.

During those five minutes, he said, attorneys filed in federal court in Detroit for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection, which generally results in a stay in all other pending litigation involving the city.

repost from downstairs (in reply to POTUS speech):

He’s right.

I caught myself locking my car door a long time ago when a black man (in a suit and tie) walked thru the lot —not near my car. It was one of those moments when time seemed surreal. The sound of the lock transported me into the present moment.

I made no conscious decision to lock the car. I had to ask myself, WHY? did I do so —reflexively. There was absolutely nothing in the man’s appearance or behavior that would indicate a threat. Except, of course, that he was black.

This incident started a life-long habit of looking at myself and trying to recognize prejudice and “programmed” behaviors. It is very difficult to undo conditioned behavior.

I’m not sure it is possible for me to totally rid myself of all of it. All I can do is to keep trying, work not to pass it on to the next generation and CALL OTHERS out when I recognize it. Those who know me know I won’t play along—I don’t tolerate “jokes” and such.

It’s about race and it’s not about race. It’s about values. How do you want to be treated? Either we are all human beings are none of us are.

Is wild hog tasty? I’ve never had meat that wasn’t from a store, but I’ve heard that wild game can be pretty tasty if done right.

It’s denser and leaner than farmed pork, and darker as well. ‘Meatier’, if you will. More amenable to moist/slow cooking than dry/fast methods for the same cuts. But yes, tasty! Sows and younger boars, that is. Bigger, older boars acquire a distinct, not especially pleasant flavor, which some folks are more sensitive, and less amenable to.

And the thing is, that five minute agreement would have - and will, if they manage to sideslip the constitutional element - cause the bankruptcy to be tossed out of federal court. I listened to the speech by President Obama today and felt it was right on in his message and tone. He even said things were getting better in race relations. That is stoking the fire? He said something I’ve said for years here, and that is that with each generation things are advancing and getting better in America regarding race issues.
( Well, I always said that the old bigots will die off some day so we need to educate our young that being a bigot is wrong. )
Again..The outrage and mis-characterization by the RW about race is another reason to walk away from the GOP. May they implode and a modern party from the right emerge to take it’s place…

I’m going to try to be an optimist and suggest that there’s at least something of a generational divide in this whole terror of scary black men.

My fiancee’s best friend’s dad grew up in Brooklyn and attended a Catholic school 1 block from where I currently live. When MLK was murdered, the school had the (mostly) white kids leave in groups, because of the violence going on outside. They were afraid that individual white children might get picked off by the mob.

I can see how that might leave an indelible mark on one’s psyche.

Fast forward 45 years, and he dropped his daughter off at a party at our place, and apparently said that he’d never thought he’d ever let his daughter come to this neighborhood. She, meanwhile, has come to our place on multiple occasions, riding the LIRR in and walking to our place. She has no fear of the majority-black neighborhood.

I’m hoping that it’s a generational thing. For those of us who never witnessed a race riot, and saw America’s cities spring back to life as crime fell, being scared of the “ghetto” would be as odd as being scared of the Soviet Union.

This disturbs me: that when I first heard that Obama had made these comments my first thought was “oh no.” Because I didn’t want to have to hear all the hate that his remarks would elicit from the Right.

Then I remembered how I was relieved when Hilary Clinton didn’t get the nomination back in 2004, because I didn’t want to deal with the degree of hatred the Right had for her. You may not remember this now, but back in 2004 they had not figured out how to hate on a black man yet, but they had no trouble being vicious about a woman — and it was upsetting.

It disturbs me because I know that whatever hatred is out there doesn’t actually disappear if you don’t provoke it. It merely festers in secret, waiting for an excuse to spew forth in all its ugliness. And yet I’ve allowed it to frighten me into hoping for silence.

Snyder and the EM filed for bankruptcy and hoped no one would look at the state constitution which prohibits the government from reducing accrued benefits (aka pensions for those who worked long and hard for them).

They’re going to try again - appealing the initial ruling.

As it was, they barely got the initial filing in on time (by a matter of minutes in fact).

Ok lizards, i need some advise.

I just hit a major hurdle on the sale of my house. We are selling the house including a small plot of land owned by my sis in law. Since that land is in her name the bank says they will not close that loan. I’m sure the buyers are pissed right now. I’m fucking worried. I am in the process of buying a house in Tennessee. The appraiser added that property in the appraisal. I would think if this was going to be a huge problem that my RE agent would have seen this at the beginning. Also the appraiser should have known this.

The only option I can think of is to have the appraisal redone without that extra property and sell the house for whatever it goes down to. Am I right?

Get the loin chops at Costco. They’re good quality, and a few minutes on each side on a hot grill is all they need. Then get some plain yogurt and sambal oelek (chili garlic sauce - find it in the asian section of the market - green lidded jar). Mix a little of that with the yogurt and serve as a dipping sauce.

The appraiser should have seen the different names on the deeds (and read the metes and bounds on each). So, s/he should re-do it and not charge anything. If you don’t have a closing lawyer, get one. From the intersection of Stupid and Racist:

Stupidest Man On Internet Poses Stupidest Theory: Kill Trayvon Ahead Of Time So He Couldn’t Make Drugs At Home

Hoft, by way of American Thinker and NewsCommenter:

The media has focuses heavily on the fact that Trayvon purchased Skittles at 7-11 before his confrontation with Zimmerman, but they fail to mention he was also buying Arizona Fruit Juice, both of which are ingredients commonly used to create a home-made drug called “Sizzurp” or “Lean”.

and, in retort, Wonkette:

Let’s break this stupid down, shall we? First off, sizzurp aka lean aka purple drank aka stuff everyone knows about thanks to Lil Wayne unless they are idiots like Jim Hoft, is an actual thing, for reals. Howevs, pretty much every bit of googling ever turns up that the only people that think sizzurp is made with skittles and iced tea are low-level conservative bloggers talking at each other. Sizzurp usually requires that you need to get yourself some soda and some jolly ranchers. The jolly ranchers add color and dissolve nicely, while skittles in a cold drink sounds gritty and chewy at best. Sizzurp also requires that you’ve scored some cough syrup, ideally with codeine, but Hoft must just have assumed that all black teenagers have that at home because drugs. But hey — let’s play “Let’s Pretend With Jim Hoft” and decide that Trayvon was scoring sugar products to make some lean. If that was the case, then it most definitely made sense to shoot the kid, because you know what happens when you drink drank? You turn into an unremorseful killing machine! Oh wait, that’s what Zimmerman is. Our bad. If you drink lean, you pretty much get sleepy, slow down, and lean over. Terrifying, we know.

So basically, never accept sizzurp from Jim Hoft, because he’s doing it wrong, and is getting diabeetus rather than high.

The appraiser should have seen the different names on the deeds (and read the metes and bounds on each). So, s/he should re-do it and not charge anything. If you don’t have a closing lawyer, get one. S/he can advise you best on what to do. The buyer can’t get title insurance anyway as it stands. And the buyer now has an excuse to bow out of the contract if s/he wants. Both the RE agent and appraiser should have known better.

Well the lawyer looking to resolve this problem is the buyers lawyer. They are not going to pull out of the contract. They have spent too much money and really want the house. I have a feeling the attorney will be able to find a solution but I’m still going to lose a few more pounds this weekend.

It’s things like this that just make me want to hang my head. I dropped by the archery forum I used to frequent until it was taken over by mouthfrothing wingnuts, and was depressed to see that some folks I’d thought reasonable and rational were every bit as stupid and racist as everyone else in that cesspit.

I wish I hadn’t wasted so much time there in the past.

282 Shiplord Kirel  Fri, Jul 19, 2013 4:56:56pm

The RWNJs are apparently gearing up for an air war. As we know, the FAA has actually taken the time to warn the one horse town of Deer Creek Colorado about its proposed “drone hunting license.”
Here in Texas, two idiots have gotten prison time this year for shooting at crop spraying planes. One was definitely an RWNJ, since he did not believe the plane had the right to overfly his property.
A friend of mine is in the business of taking aerial photos for construction companies and similar clients. This sometimes involves maneuvers, tight turns etc., that attract attention. Since the drone haters are dumber than donkey turds to start with, they could easily mistake his light plane for a spy drone. He said he is considering taking a rifle along so he can return fire at any freaks who do decide to shoot at him. He is probably kidding but it would be perfectly legal for him to do so (though probably not advisable). Hey, stand your sky, dude.
