David Duke Is Ecstatic About Trump’s “Star of David” Tweet: “We Welcome the Hidden Hand”

Trump’s Ku Klux Klan base couldn’t be happier
Politics • Views: 83,730

Like many white supremacists, former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke noticed Donald Trump’s antisemitic tweet this weekend and reacted with great glee.

He wasn’t upset that Trump’s people replaced the Star of David with a circle, because he knows the Republican Party’s nominee for president is still getting their message out.

Dr. Duke & Dr. MacDonald Expose the War on White People and Address Why We Support Trump Even Though He is Too Moderate!
Today Dr. Duke had Professor Kevin MacDonald as his guest for the hour. They talked about the literal war on white people in the United States. They talked about the hope offered by the Donald Trump campaign, but also about how he does not go far enough in many ways. Professor MacDonald explained that in the current climate, it is understandable that Trump would not raise certain issues, as it would just make his task more difficult. At the same time, he said that Trump has made some tactical mistakes, like making a big issue out of the Mexican judge, even though his position was correct.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

So for the last few months—since Easter, in fact, I’ve been spending some part of my Sunday mornings out in front of “The Trinity Church” in Scottsdale. This is the new home of manly man preacher Mark Driscoll, who managed to crater a multi-campus, multi-state church organization based out of Seattle less than two years ago by refusing to go under discipline from his elders. The House of Driscoll has not officially opened yet (that doesn’t happen until August 7), but he’s somehow managed to scrape together the money/cosigners/who knows what to buy the property in the picture behind me. That property has a Full Cash Value of $21 million dollars, per Maricopa County.

I said years ago before his Seattle gig crashed and burned that if the guy ended up in my neck of the woods, I’d be out on the sidewalk, and there I am. I try to keep my criticisms as secular as possible. Basically, it’s about the plagiarism and using church money to game the NYTimes bestseller list and the way he treated women in his old church, and where the heck did all the money go for the Global Fund and the Jesus Fest, etc., etc.

Yesterday I had a web acquaintance from Dubai via Tucson join me in picketing the House of Driscoll. He took a couple of pictures, and above is one of them. He went inside for the “Bible study” and later reported that there were only about 100 adults there and he could not record anything. I’m such an evil person, it warms the cockles of my cold, cold heart that Driscoll is not packing them in. I have to wonder how he expects to pay the mortgage.

Lots more info on Driscoll:

You are from the same school of people who tells white people they should “unite” while in Britain, you tell Poles to get out. That just shows you how stupid King really is. The idiotic thing about DEPORT THEM ALL types just never think about is that many illegal aliens let alone children and grandchildren such as yourself are very well integrated into America. In fact, if you hadnt’ said so, I’d never know you had illegal alien grandparents. And hell I don’t even know if my mom’s paternal grandparents were legal or not. My grandparents fled the Nazis just before Germany invaded Poland. At the time, Slavs were prohibited from entering the USA. My grandfather then joined the US Army and went back to Europe to fight the Nazis as part of the American forces, where he was killed.

My grandmother meanwhile joined the WAC working stateside.

My father and mother both served in the US Navy; my father was killed in Vietnam when I was seven.

My sister and I were also in the military (she in the Army and me in the Navy).

When I was at the U of MN in 1974, there was a student operated company called ‘Pie Kill Ltd’ for a very short but memorable time. You could hire them to hit people with a whipped cream pie. It was rumored that one of my architecture lecturers was on the kill list and, sure enough, one day while we were being lectured in Bell Auditorium, someone came around from behind the curtain, said ‘excuse me’, and blasted the guy in the face with a pie. The whole auditorium went silent except for two or three loud guffaws and the professor finally muttered through clenched teeth ‘Class dismissed’. A half dozen students went up to help him as the rest of us filed out in amazed silence. We laughed about it later because nobody liked the professor at all.

So it turns out that if your options are a) hike with a full pack for 4 miles while wearing flip flops or b) put your hiking boots back on over some really impressive blisters, option a is totally reasonable.

(Miles hiked in boots: 4. Miles hiked in flip flops: 13. Only had to haul the full pack for the trip out though, thanks to some fortunate circumstances.)

We did hike into Kings Canyon National Park, which is where this perhaps overly-sharpened phone camera photo is from. Maybe I will find the energy to dig out the good photos tomorrow, but there’s not a ton.

So anyway, you’re all still stuck with me. (Most common wildlife observed on the trail, besides the most obnoxious mosquitoes ever? Lizards.)

<blockquote”..NASA doesn’t actually need the engine to burn for the entire 35 minutes to enter Jupiter’s orbit, though. In fact, only 20 minutes will do the trick. Burning for 35 minutes would put Juno into its intended 53-day orbit, but the spacecraft can still get into Jupiter’s orbit after just 20 to 30 minutes. “After it’s been firing for somewhere around 20 minutes to a half hour, we will know it’s been on long enough to put the spacecraft into orbit,” Steve Levin, a Juno project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, told The Verge. “So even if something went wrong at that point, we wouldn’t be in the right orbit, but we’d still be orbiting Jupiter, and that’s a very recoverable thing.”

BTW, this drive to have a non-nuclear powered spacecraft is from a long-running issue in NASA about being able to get the plutonium-thermal supply chain guaranteed.

There are two issues here: 1) people wanting to get away from “nuclear”, and 2) the long term reliability of the plutonium power project for NASA given changes in the larger US nuclear program.

I’m kind of surprised Juno doesn’t have two engines just in case—Cassini did.

Must have pretty high confidence in the restartability of that particular engine.

Ion engines only provide a gentle thrust over long periods of time. For this maneuver, you need something a bit more powerful.

Had a friend who served in the peace corps in Nepal.

He said the footwear of choice walking up and down hills & valleys (apparently there are a more than a few of them in Nepal) was flip flops.

More specifically flip flops that were trimmed at the heel so it didn’t protrude out from underneath your heel.

That was to prevent the flip flop from flipping mud up the back of your calf.

Well, Nebraska teamed up with Oklahoma to take a court case to Federal court (conservatives are vowing to go all the way to the USSC if necessary, because they are fiscal conservatives) to overturn Colorado’s law as a violation of Federal law.

As it turns out, conservative states are all about “states’ rights” right up until they are not.

The Attorney General of Oklahoma told the state governor there (Mary Fallin) he was not happy with her directing him to take Oklahoma into the case. His argument was that if Oklahoma and Nebraska were successful, that would set a precedent for Colorado to go after Oklahoma gun laws.

Here in Nebraska, there was talk about cutting off all the farm roads that go into Colorado from the north and east, and only leave open the nine paved roads so the police could better search cars without warrants or probable cause. Ranchers and farmers shut down that idea as a burden on their farms.

Currently, Nebraska still whines about Colorado, and anecdotes appear that people driving out of Colorado into my state with out-of-state license plates (especially Colorado plates) are harassed. The counties that border Colorado all claim that drug smuggling is way up (despite the heavy restrictions in Colorado on out-of-staters buying maryjane and no actual reporting of this in the local papers).

re: #6 mmmirele

LOL I remember Mark Driscoll. He’s that Mars Hill Church asshole who called women “penis homes.”

The first thing to know about your penis is, that despite the way it may see, it is not your penis. Ultimately, God created you and it is his penis. You are simply borrowing it for a while.

While His penis is on loan you must admit that it is sort of just hanging out there very lonely as if it needed a home, sort of like a man wondering the streets looking for a house to live in. Knowing that His penis would need a home, God created a woman to be your wife and when you marry her and look down you will notice that your wife is shaped differently than you and makes a very nice home.

US Navy funding research to use locusts to detect explosives.

bbc.com

But locusts have a similar sense of smell to humans in that they can identify a particular smell even when it is mixed in with other odours.

Prof Raman said they had “robotic noses” that could be trained to pinpoint and recall a smell such as dangerous chemicals.

He told the BBC: “It took only a few hundred milliseconds for the locust’s brain to begin tracking a novel odour introduced in its surroundings. The locusts are processing chemical cues in an extremely rapid fashion.

“Even the state-of-the-art miniaturised chemical-sensing devices have a handful of sensors. On the other hand, if you look at the insect antennae, where their chemical sensors are located, there are several hundreds of thousands of sensors and of a variety of types,” he said.

That is an interesting article. It also has a link on the same rat being used to sniff out tuberculosis. (I had the misfortune of developing TB in 1987, presumed to have come from a port visit in Tunisia. Fortunately for me, the Navy didn’t have to use a giant rat to detect it.)

Sunday night I wrote a comment about what I consider to be poor research wrt determining the hesitancy to embrace evolution because of religiosity:

littlegreenfootballs.com

In which I asserted that issues in taxonomy are so large that making a claim that Chimpanzees ought to be in the genus Homo is a poorly framed question.

To add to that, here is a presentation from earlier this year, in which the issue of what exactly can be placed into Homo and why, is discussed:

HOMO - WHAT, WHO, WHEN, WHERE?

Interesting stuff (if you’re into evolution).

Buckley.

I was reading up on the JBS. It seems they have an on-again, off-again relationship with conservatives and libertarians. William F. Buckley and Ayn Rand both repudiated them, but for different reasons. Even today the JBS holds on to some libertarian ideas (dismantle the Federal Reserve and go on a gold standard), and in 2010 became co-sponsors of CPAC. They have always supported withdrawing from the UN, and point to a recent failed initiative in Utah that urged our withdrawal.

DarknSilentNight  Jul 5, 2016 • 4:12:31am

Apologies for the “post and run”, but I have to get to work soon. Let me add my two cents to this discussion.
Yes, David Duke and everyone of his ilk are ecstatic about this. To them, “All exposure is good. Good exposure is better.” With everyone who saw and heard about the original tweet, they’re getting one or the other. To us, we’re “exposure is good” because we’re not bugshit crazy. To everyone else (read “Drumpf’s followers”), it’s “good exposure”.
As someone mentioned upthread, we have to deal with this shit every generation. It’s now this generation’s turn. (I consider mine to have been the one that dealt with the crazie’s such as The Order (read “the guys who killed radio host Alan Berg”), The Covenenant, the Sword and the Arm of the Lord (CSA), and ended with Tim McVeigh.)
But I think many people are missing the point of the original tweet. Drumpf doesn’t give a rat’s ass if he’s upsetting people. As long as he’s getting exposure (Who needs money for advertising when you can just say something vile and have everyone blast it out themselves?), he’s good. The point of the original tweet was that he wanted everyone thinking “Hillary is corrupt.” What are they seeing time and time again? This image with Hillary and money (root of all evil and all that) and that she is corrupt. I’m no psychologist, but something tells me that this is playing wonderfully to Trump’s demo. Those people want easy answers and quick solutions. They figure Trump understands their basic desire that if we get rid of the darkies and… whatever other bullshit some wingnut sputters… everything will be gumdrops and rainbows. Remember: As someone mentioned upthread, Duke’s demo is the same people who HAVE created their own “patriot communes” in the past. Look up CSA (Covenant, Sword, Arm of the Lord) and learn how they group came to a rather whimpering end. Long story short: FBI and a large group of local police talked them out of their compound where they were heavily fortified and preparing for the End Times. All of this, ALL OF IT, for us in the US is “Been there, done that.”
Let me end with this: Every time someone mentions Trump, mention McVeigh. Mention the worst act of domestic terrorism on US soil. This guy wasn’t a Mooooooselem. He was hard-core, Aryan Nations Christian to the bone. THEN mention that Trump has allied himself with his people.
To a Trump follower who may be reading this, some may have forgotten, but not me.
Again, apologies for posting and running, but I’m going to be late to work.
Later, lizards.

So, found a large unexploded fireworks at the dog run in my apartment complex while walking my dogs this morning.
Since it didn’t appear to have ever been lit I picked it up and threw it out of the fenced-in dog run. Then used four discarded fireworks mortar tubes to mark it’s position.
Called and left a message on the complexes emergency maintenance line to inform them of it’s location. And, remind them it’s probably illegal for them to simply throw the unexploded device in the trash.
Feel a little bad for the complexes maintenance crew today. Place is trashed. July 4th residue everywhere, dumpster all over flowing (yesterday was the normally scheduled trash pickup)

This quote from Brat sounds like he’s just a couple steps from screaming “ZOG ZOG ZOG” in the streets:

The rocket motor on the Cassini probe orbiting Saturn burned for about 90 minutes during insertion. The spacecraft engineers use the smallest engine that will provide the required delta-v at the destination, planning to run it for the full time window the trajectory offers. A bigger engine is extra mass that is better assigned to instruments, batteries, redundant transmitters and manoeuvering fuel on the spacecraft.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. It’s surprising how much stuff happened this weekend with Trump and his white supremacist tweet, and yet media outlets are still leery of calling it for what it is.

They’re still far too circumspect of what was done. They ignore that it was pulled from white supremacist twitter, which means Trump’s trawling those waters for inspiration. That’s damaging enough.

Then there’s the campaign claiming that he can’t be anti-Semitic for reasons. Except those reasons make no sense, especially in light of where the image originated.

But as Charles and others here have been saying, Trump isn’t the cause. He’s the symptom of the rot of the GOP. That Trump hasn’t been drummed out of the campaign despite prior white supremacist tweets also falls on the media and other GOP leaders, who needed the horse race and didn’t want to alienate core GOP voters who were flocking to Trump on his nativist/isolationist/xenophobic agenda.

Clinton has no such restraints. She doesn’t need the bigot brigade to win in November, so she doesn’t need to hold back in any way shape or form. Nor does Obama or anyone else operating as Hillary’s surrogate in going after Trump’s bigotry.

Oh, and because Jared Kushner and Ivanka are Jewish doesn’t mean Trump can’t be anti-Semitic or pandering to the bigot brigade. If anything, it’s even worse, since Trump’s bigotry isn’t getting pushback from within his family that is supposedly taking a greater role in his campaign. He’s still going to his base instinct to be a bigot.

Drudge VP poll:

NEWT GINGRICH 39.32% (31,017 votes)

JONI ERNST 30.98% (24,437 votes)

JEFF SESSIONS 15.35% (12,109 votes)

“Lois Lane” has died, age 95.
latimes.com

The actress who was the first to play Superman’s love interest, Lois Lane, on screen has died. Noel Neill was 95.

Neill’s biographer Larry Ward tells the Associated Press that she died Sunday at her home in Tucson following a long illness.

Neill first took on the role as the Daily Planet reporter in the 1948 Columbia movie serial “Superman.” She would reprise the part alongside George Reeves as the Man of Steel in the 1950s TV series “The Adventures of Superman.”

Neill’s involvement with the series continued through the years. She played Lois Lane’s mother in 1978’s “Superman” and had a bit part in “Superman Returns” in 2006.

In 2010, the city of Metropolis, Ill., unveiled a statue of Lois Lane modeled after Neill.

I’m guessing the Trump campaign is tossing Sen Ernst’s name out there for the same reasons it does most things: for the optics, based on the most simpleminded calculations of how they think the electorate will react (not the “base” for once, though, otherwise he’d be picking Ivanka, or Alex Jones). I think they imagine Ernst ticks enough boxes to be a viable candidate:

- A woman ( deflects charges of misogyny)
- A strident conservative (reassures the wingnuts)
- A sitting Senator. (respectable position -a nod to the “Establishment”)
- from Iowa ( appeals to the “heartland”)

IOW, a smarter model Sarah Palin: this time one who might be able to actually deliver a coherent speech. Still says nothing about her qualifications per se, but then again, this IS the Trump campaign …

Most importantly, the presence of a woman on the ticket would do a lot to distract the discussion from Trump’s lack of experience and qualification: the whole discussion would be centered on “Hillary is X while our [token female placeholder] is not-X!”

That one word…careless…will be heard over and over and over again.

Careless Clinton…etc. Ugh.

Overall though, I would say about 50% of what goes on in our government is careless.

And then you have careless like a war in Iraq which will never be as careless as Benghazi. Or you could say not having national health insurances is careless as is 60 attempts to overturn what we have gained in healthcare coverage.

And all of this adds up to why so many people care less about government.

People have carelessly handled classified info since they started classifying info. Whether they were folders left on restaurant tables, car seats, unlocked briefcases, whatever. So there’s ample precedent for not prosecuting. You simply can’t go from careless breach of handling to willful violation of the law. So Clinton got the wrist slap she deserved, and the Republicans can probably still keep milking this anyway and fold it neatly into their perpetual persecution pipeline.

On the other hand, proletarian revolutions, like those of the nineteenth century, constantly criticize themselves, constantly interrupt themselves in their own course, return to the apparently accomplished, in order to begin anew; they deride with cruel thoroughness the half-measures, weaknesses, and paltriness of their first attempts, seem to throw down their opponents only so the latter may draw new strength from the earth and rise before them again more gigantic than ever, recoil constantly from the indefinite colossalness of their own goals - until a situation is created which makes all turning back impossible…

Plus ça change….

lawhawk  Jul 5, 2016 • 8:35:40am

This is what happens when media outlets don’t provide sufficient background on what was going on with these emails in the first place. Right wing outlets simply ginned up outrageous outrage stoking the wishful thinking that indictments would be forthcoming.

Reality is that while the email handling was poor, there was no crime committed. This wasn’t Petraeus handing off classified data to his mistress. This was email that was later classified being maintained on a private server that was itself not a crime. The NARA problems were that the emails weren’t being preserved for posterity, not that there was a crime involved here.

Handling emails that are not classified at the time of creation, but which later become classified isn’t criminal. The classification process makes that much clear.

Kurt Eichenwald had the lowdown on how this all works a while back. It was never a crime here. It was a nothingburger from the outset, but the GOP and Bernie bros were determined to treat it as high crimes and treasonous.

The FBI did their thing - and no crimes. No indictments. Nothing but a rebuke of poor State Department policies that must be strengthened to conform with NARA and proper practices in other agencies.

And while this is going on, Gov. Christie’s emails have gone missing re: Bridgegate, potentially hindering active investigations. Trump’s currently under investigation for fraud and his taxes remain subject to audits in multiple years (claiming so he can’t/wont release his returns), and there’s even a sex assault suit filed against him.

But these emails are the only thing that matters.

GOP priorities - destroying Clinton and Democrats generally. Everything else doesn’t matter. Not providing for the general welfare. Not properly funding government operations (General Welfare clause anyone?!). Nothing. Just corrosive and destructive politics of personal destruction.

It’s the only thing the GOP knows how to do. And it’s now Trump’s turn to turn that both outwards towards Clinton and inwards on the GOP itself.

I agree with you, and I hate to say it, but that spin has merit. If she weren’t a political appointee, she would probably lose her job. There really isn’t a total vindication here, but all it does is end the FBI’s involvement. I argued yesterday that what she did was a stupid thing to do for somebody who wanted to run for President because it creates a needless distraction that will run the length of the campaign, and it will run all through the summer. Every day when Trump does something stupid, this will come up and dilute the attention Trump should be getting.

I’ll make this comparison with Chris Christie’s Bridgegate. Shutting down the GW Bridge was a stupid thing to do. Everybody assumes he was behind it, including me. Christie’s defense is that rogue staffers must have done it. The best outcome for him is that he was a careless boss who didn’t manage his staff. (The worst for him of course is a smoking gun directly linking him to the closure). That thing has dogged him (rightfully), and has been a distraction since the story broke. Will Christie go to jail over this? No. Has he paid a tremendous political price, of course.
What I would call the common link between the two is the sense of entitlement the two eshibited in that they felt they could do things the way the wanted rather than the way they should have been done.
** Naturally somebody’s going to leap to the conclusion that this is a MBF argument or that I am equating Clinton and Christie. If you actually read the comparison I am not comparing the people but I am comparing the situations.

And for the millionth time, I’ll say this was never a law and order issue. It’s a political issue, and anybody who thinks it isn’t fair is childish. Politics isn’t fair. The media isn’t fair. They never were. Clinton is a lifelong pro and should have known better. She brought this one on herself.

Here’s the FBI statement.

fbi.gov

It looks like there was classified (at the time of being sent/received) information on her servers.

“From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were “up-classified” to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent.”

That knowledge has to be tempered by the recognition that much of those were not marked as classified when sent.

Separately, it is important to say something about the marking of classified information. Only a very small number of the e-mails containing classified information bore markings indicating the presence of classified information. But even if information is not marked “classified” in an e-mail, participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it.

Emphasis mine.

It also looks like Bennie changed ‘possible’ to ‘likely’ when talking about intrusion.
Typical wingnut method of lying.

“With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail domain, in its various configurations since 2009, was successfully hacked. But, given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess that we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence. We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial e-mail accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account. We also assess that Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal e-mail domain was both known by a large number of people and readily apparent. She also used her personal e-mail extensively while outside the United States, including sending and receiving work-related e-mails in the territory of sophisticated adversaries. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.

Emphasis mine.

Coverage, sure, but none of the foaming-at-the-mouth outrage and *concern* over HRC’s email server. You might take the time to read up on the Trump rape accusation. As for the Bill Clinton stuff, that’s a new one on me.

Here’s my point, which I’m not sure you’re getting. The right wing is adamantly opposed to any Clinton — or Democrat — being in the White House again. For some reason — I dunno, maybe because she’s a woman (just thinking out loud here) — they really really hate Hillary. There is an entire RWNJ media machine that manufactures and amplifies stories intended to discredit the Clintons. Radio hosts, bloggers, pundits, politicians, Tea Partiers — they all repeat the same fake outrages over and over again, making mountains out of molehills. THAT’S why we’ve heard about Benghazi and email-gate virtually non-stop for fucking YEARS now.

There is no comparable left wing media machine, despite what the right wing says. So, you don’t have the same daily volcano of outrage about Trump’s bankruptcies, his cheating of business partners, investors, clients and workers, his alleged sexual escapades, etc.

You really need to understand these basic facts before you go off on HRC making “political blunders.”

You’re talking to the wrong guy. The Republicans are going to keep this going all summer. Do you even understand the point I’m making? It isn’t that hard. I’ll type slower.
1. Clinton was foolish to use a private email server to conduct official business. There was no compelling reason for her to use it. In her own words, she did it for convenience. She even acknowledges it was a mistake.
2. Because of that, Clinton is paying a political price: this is a distraction everytime Trump does something stupid. She is a veteran of at least 25 years of hardball politics. She should have known this would be the result.
Lots of people act like I’m calling her a criminal. I’m not. I’m saying she did something stupid. Also, lots of people can’t bring themselves to accept that all the email shit you’re hearing is Clinton’s own fault.

Obviously this was a political fuck up. We all know that. Witness over a year of controversy. But that is not what today is all about. Today is about the fact that the FBI determined there was nothing criminal, and no gross negligence even as careless mistakes were made.

So all this talk of “Crooked Hillary” and “she needs to be in jail” by RWNJ is just dumb. They will keep doing it, but it will have less power and if they keep it up, could backfire. Comey is considered a very fair player by almost everyone.

The Rio Games may rival Sochi in terms of bad outcomes, not that it will change how the host cities are selected and venues are prepared in a timely fashion.

Still think the Games should have permanent homes, instead of rotating among cities that have to build infrastructure and venues that can quickly fall into disuse and disrepair - money that could go to other and better uses.

Greece should be permanent home to Summer Games. Winter Games should be in Switzerland permanently.

Yeah, you’re right that this is a political issue: but for at least a year, a wide assortment of anti-Hillary-Clinton forces (Congressional Republicans, GOP candidates, wingnuts in general, diehard Berniebots, etc.) have attempted to turn it into a legal issue; operating on the assumption - which has been implicit in a documented shit-ton of “Hillary for Prison” BS since her campaign started - that there was something -anything!! - actually criminal about then-Sec. Clinton’s handling of DoS emails, and thus, the breathless anticipation of INDICTMENTS!!1!!1 which has polluted our political discourse for months.

Director Comey’s final word today on the FBI investigation at least puts a stake in that particular avenue of attack, and returns “emailgate” to where it belongs: the category of bullshit political scandal-mongering, on a par with Vincent Foster CTs, or the rest of the deranged Clinton-bashing nonsense we’ve had to listen to for 20+ years. No, Hillary did not come out looking good (though given the rabid nature of today’s political media, it’s hard to see exactly WHAT could): but it’s the kind of “not good” that can be spun and/or dismissed. Unlike criminal charges.

Innsbrück stepped up when Denver backed out—I think they should be rewarded for that. I agree about Greece. The Olympics could become their major industry.

Clinton’s email server and subsequent issues have been studied and looked into more than the whole pile of lies that led a president to justify a needless war.

I guess the Iraq war was not careless. Good to know. Also good to know the American media and public that follows it keeps things in realistic perspective.

Worth exploring, I would think lots of folks holding Greek debt could be persuaded to get behind that plan.

And that’s why nobody’s bothering to make a fuss over the way he handled his records.

So you don’t get prosecuted for “crimes” unless you run for office?

re: #516 wheat-dogghazi-mailgate

I agree with your point. I think the RWNJs would be doing this no matter what Democrat was the front runner. It isn’t about misogyny or racism (although they are handy devices), it’s all about power.
I would say that you’re mixing right wing media with mainstream media. Granted there is no comparable left wing media because left doesn’t need gas poured on their fire like the right does. Left wing media is not a good business model (remember Air America and Current?) So when these right wing bloggers and radio hosts go full wingnut, I don’t think they’re reaching as much of an audience as you think. When I have my tv on I don’t hear as much Clinton bashing as the people who are monitoring the right wing. I also hear much more about Trump U and the bankruptcies and the racism than you think.
I understand the realities of the media and politics quite well, and that’s why Clinton’s email problem is her own fault. People on the left want to keep making excuses for her or blame it all on the right wing, but this is a basic grade A beginner’s politics level fuckup.

OMG that would be awesome! I didn’t bother watching Clinton because I knew she would be fine, but I would watch Trump!

Nobody’s getting prosecuted. “Persecuted” is the word you’re looking for, and yes, it’s fair game.

Maybe it’s because even when you quote, you don’t even quote the whole thing. It isn’t a complicated line of argument. I gave people the courtesy of discussing their points but you can’t return the favor?

Heh yeah I do see that. I cannot believe he still hasn’t dropped out. Tomorrow’s going to be a month since California. I think he may genuinely have some mental issues going on. I really do.

I think there’s some campaign finance minutia about when he drops out and precisely what language he does it with means something something about donations…

I know what words I am looking for, don’t need correction by you. Prosecuted pertains to crimes, persecution is used by insecure pinheads.
