We’ll have to find out if it’s true or not, though it would actually be funny if Bing weren’t important enough to buy ads on. But, there’s a point about libertarianism that needs to be made: Thinking that the market will decide leads to unscrupulous people gaming the system. The market is under the influence of anything it cannot control, anything that does not originate inside of it, such as humans.

Earlier this evening, Texas Tech Police made a student welfare check. Upon entering the room, officers found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Officers brought the suspect to the police station for standard debriefing. During this time, the suspect pulled a gun and shot an officer in the head. The officer is deceased. The suspect fled on foot and is currently still at-large. Texas Tech University campus is on lockdown.
The police didn’t even search him??? before bringing him in for a chat. Guess they haven’t realised that white students may be the ones using the new rules to carry on campus.

My own pet theory on the fucking manchildren losing their shit over a dipping sauce:
I love Rick and Morty, but I can see how people hate it for Rick’s nihilistic worldview, where nothing matters, people are stupid and therefore anything is permissible when dealing with them. The thing I find so funny about the show is just how the writers make an utterly amoral wreck of a human being into a bit of a novelty.
But he’s supposed to be an ironic character. I still haven’t been able to decide what exactly I love about his character except that his reaction to people and situations is constructed simply to defeat the audience’s expectation of an emotional investment in what happens to his family and the world. It’s a similar dynamic to the gang from ‘It’s Always Sunny’. They’re meant to be reflections of our own worst impulses. Any redemptive qualities they have are kind of a maker’s mark showing them to be utterly fictitious.
The people raging at McDonalds and their staff love Rick because he ultimately is the emotionally dead wisearse who does whatever he pleases that they *wish they were*. Rick is less a comical character than the rugged individualist archetype upon which the worst elements in America model themselves.
In other words, they’re incapable of understanding irony and live very selfish lives without the redeeming maker’s mark meaning they’re all too real.
That’s what I reckon anyway.

Does the community have a building code which defines a “habitable dwelling”. I doubt a garage would meet the requirements and codes to be a permanent residence. Things like running water and a functional toilet and heating system seems to be a universal requirement for living in a structure.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s Senate campaign announcement ad has been blocked by Twitter over a statement the abortion rights opponent makes about the sale of fetal tissue for medical research.
Blackburn, who is running for the seat being opened by the retirement of Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, boasts in the ad that she “stopped the sale of baby body parts.” A Twitter representative told the candidate’s vendors on Monday that the statement was “deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction.
I have a uranium test to do in the morning on one of our wells.
If I had the money for it, I would go over in one of those hot suits like they use in nuclear research, with long tongs to hold the bottle and such. (I suspect the folk in town wouldn’t appreciate seeing that much.)
I got our arsenic test results back from the state a couple days ago; the wells were 1000% over the legal maximum … guess we’re still stuck using reverse-osmosis units for the foreseeable future.
re: #108 teleskiguy
Regrettably, she says in that article she is urging her supporters to share the same video across Twitter’s platform. I presume users could flag it when they see it (and then see if Twitter does anything about that). The article also notes there is nothing stopping her or anyone else spreading it across other platforms such as YouTube.
So Blackburn has been sent to Twitter Gulag?

No, just her advert over the incendiary statement about selling foetal tissue. Twitter said the rest of the advert was fine. She wasn’t banned or suspended from Twitter.

Got a freebie offer from Netflix - it has been some time since I had an account. So I decided to sign up again.
But am very disinterested. There does not seem to be the volume of material in the back library that there used to be, way back when Netflix was young.
And there is a great overlap to what I can find on Amazon Prime, for what I have interest.
I wonder if people outside the US are finding Netflix more of a value, as I know there are regions-specific content.
Also, I note that the pace of “cord cutting” has picked up, according to some stories. The irony of course is that most people, like me, depend on cable companies for high-speed internet, so the cable companies aren’t hurting for revenue. But the content packagers have to be getting a clue that the old days of bundling channels are fading away.
I’m pretty sure I have not interest in 98% of the channels now offered. I like so many want to watch on-demand very specific content.
re: #114 freetoken
We cut our cable TV service about a year ago. We get our internet through our hard line telephone company. Saved us about $80 per month. Even with a download of 7 mps the wife and I can both watch individual movies without buffering.
I agree with your observation about Netflix. Seem like all the Netflix offerings are old B rated movies. Hard to find many of the old classics we would like to watch again.
We do have Amazon Prime and enjoy several of their offerings, i.e. Outlander..
We also enjoy Acorn dot TV. They have a great collection of English, Australian, New Zealand, and Canadian who-done-its such as Inspector Frost, Morse, Inspector Lewis, and Foley’s War. Some of these series have over 100 episodes. Acorn is only $6-8 per month and well worth it.

My wife is paying our bills … she made a complaint: “Honey, I can’t pay the bills.”
“Are we paid ahead on them all?”
“Yes. I am sending more.”
(We have credit balances with the phone, electric, gas, &c. That came from a time we both were in the hospital for weeks at the same time, and our bills went unpaid. Now they stay paid ahead, sort of like a zero interest loan to those companies.)
Tiki Torches (Goes to Juanita Jean’s: The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon):
Guest column by Bryan Bankston -
There are many things the Nazis have ruined. The 1936 Summer Olympics, yelling and gesturing wildly while giving an impassioned speech, the Arc of the Covenant, and the fact that if you dress up as Charlie Chaplin for Halloween, you absolutely cannot take your bowler hat off.
But now that the Nazis are back, they have ruined one of my favorite things. Faux Polynesian kitsch. Yes, my favorite type of illumination while drinking rum out of a coconut waiting for the pig to finish spit-roasting: The tiki torch.
I don’t how the decision was made to utilize this particular variety of cultural appropriation, but I’m guessing one of the Nazis initially suggested the use of regular torches, but the rest of the Nazis were worried that it might confuse people into thinking they were protesting Frankenstein instead of the removal of a racist statue. After one particularly smart-ass Nazi brought up the fact that Frankenstein was the name of the doctor, not the monster, they decided on tiki torches
Fortunately I have a way to make tiki kitsch again, as well as completely changing the optics of the Nazi demonstrations. It’s easy. Replace all confederate statues with tiki statues.
When the Nazis come back to Charleston to protest, as they did a few days ago, this is what it will look like:
The resurgence of far-right and neo-Nazi groups in Australia can be seen as part of a global tilt towards nationalism, in keeping with the European phenomena of Brexit, and the mainstreaming of Le Pen’s Front National in France and Geert Wilders’ Party of Freedom in the Netherlands. Yet the tone and trajectory of Australian ultra-nationalism has been distinctly American and distinctly pro-Trump. The timing also correlates closely with the watershed moments in the brief political career of the US president.

Republican Etiquette Guide (goes to the New York Times), more at the link:
Republicans used to care a lot about how a president comports himself, and whether he acts at all times with the dignity his station demands.
“Is President Obama Disrespecting the Oval Office?” Fox News asked in 2010, with a link to images of Mr. Obama and his aides tossing a football, or eating apples just inches from the Resolute desk.
“Wear a suit coat and tie,” said Andrew Card Jr., President George W. Bush’s former chief of staff, in reaction to pictures of Mr. Obama in shirtsleeves in 2009.
“I do expect him to send the message that people who are going to be in the Oval Office should treat the office with the respect that it has earned over history,” Mr. Card said.
But hey, that was then! In 2017, there’s a whole new bar for tolerable conduct by the commander in chief. Our original guide cataloged several dozen examples. Almost five months later, it’s clear that an update is necessary. This expanded list is meant to ensure that Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and other congressional Republicans never forget what they now condone in a president.
As the nation reels from an opiod epidemic, methamphetamine is the number one threat in Nebraska, accounting for 93% of all drug busts.
Any liberal candidate, whether national or state, seeking votes from Nebraskans, will need to address this problem if they wish to get votes.
» The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nebraska prosecuted nearly five times as many meth-related cases last year as in 2007, and meth accounted for nearly 93 percent of drug prosecutions last year.
» The Omaha Police Department made 668 meth-related arrests last year, more than twice the number five years earlier.
» The rate of Nebraskans seeking meth treatment was higher in 2015 than in any year back to 2000. Only alcohol sent more people into treatment.
» Meth factors in to more Nebraska child welfare cases than any other drug. Parents of nearly one in three Nebraska foster children use meth.
In the article the writer notes that restrictions on obtaining the products from pharmacies to manufacture meth has resulted in a dramatic decline in mom-and-pop meth labs in Nebraska and Iowa. As such, international cartels have stepped in to flood the states.

Trying to be informative to those who don’t know, Karen Pence resurrected her business she shut down, the critically-important “towel charm” (a doodad you attach to your beach towel or locker room towel so someone else doesn’t confuse it as theirs):
A little over a year ago, when the line “Karen Pence, Your Future Second Lady” was just a fun little goof, Jezebel wrote about then-Vice Presidential candidate’s wife’s “Towel Charm” business. Shortly after, the website was shut down, with a message explaining that the business had been put “on hold.” A gaping hole opened up in the universe.
After publishing a blog about crotch charms that claimed—apparently mistakenly—that “That’s My Towel!” Charm, Inc. is currently defunct, it has come to our attention that the charms are, in fact, very much alive, as of an as-yet-undetermined date in 2017. We regret the error.

China is speculating on a military intervention by the USA in North Korea in one of its official military publications,
October 25 is the day that the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army engaged in the first battle against the UN troops on the road between Unsan and Onjoeng, North Pyongyan province, in the Korean War. On October 25, 1959, North Korea erected the Sino-Korean Friendship Tower in Pyongyang to commemorate China’s participation in the Korean War. When Chinese leaders visit Pyongyang, they dedicate flowers here. Symbolizing the date, it is made of 1025 granite and marble stones.
…
After the Korean War, North Korea and China signed the Sino-North Korea Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship Treaty in July 1961. Article 2 states, “China provides military and other assistance without hesitation when North Korea is under armed attack.” It means that if the United States makes a preemptive strike on North Korea, China can automatically intervene as it had done during the Korean War. Chinese scholars argue that North Korea could make a miscalculation because of the treaty and say it needs to be revised or scrapped, but the Chinese government remains silent.

Such a thing as suicide is a terrible thing for family and friends left to deal with; an awful lot of people will blame the person for being “selfish” and an awful lot will blame the family and friends for “not recognising the signs” or “not doing enough.”
I wouldn’t wish that on anyone including her. I have no doubt she is truly torn up inside over that. It very likely isn’t her fault, she likely couldn’t have done a thing to prevent it, and I extend my sympathy toward her.

Elon Musk made an offer to Puerto Rico to rebuild its electric grid primarily based on solar power and batteries. Governor Ricardo Rosseló responded favourably.
Currently, the island imports and burns oil to generate electricity. Puerto Ricans have been paying exorbitantly high electric bills for years.
CNN Money adds:
Tesla has built solar energy grids for islands before, such as Kauai in Hawaii. However, that island’s population is about 70,000 people. Puerto Rico has 3.4 million residents.
Musk has previously stepped into other energy crises around the world. In July, he promised to deliver the world’s largest lithium ion battery to help communities in South Australia that have been suffered from power shortages.

A man seen being beaten on video inside the east Market Street Parking Garage on August 12 is now facing a felony charge.
Charlottesville police say a person took out a warrant against Deandre Harris.
Harris is the 20-year-old man who was seen being attacked by a group of white nationalists after crowds dispersed following the “Unite the Right” rally.
He’s being charged with one count of malicious wounding.
The magistrate had a Charlottesville detective verify the facts in the warrant.
Alex Micheal Ramos and Daniel Borden are both being charged with malicious wounding for attacking Harris.

Poor Bob Corker. He says what needs to be said about the Water Buffalo (Thanks Keith) President probably hoping to give some opening cover for other GOP Congressfolk to speak up.

Saudi Arabia is not messing around. They are about to become one of the most well defended nations in the world in terms of anti missile defense, perhaps second only to Israel. THAAD is making bank for Raytheon.
The deal has grown from roughly $13.5B the last time we reported on it in June to over $15B. It includes a whopping 44 launchers, 360 interceptors, 16 fire control and communications stations, and no less than seven AN/TPY-2 radars. Training, support, tools, facilities construction, and even 43 “Prime Mover” transporter trucks are included in the wide spanning, so called “end-to-end” weapons deal.
Keep in mind we are contemplating a second installation for South Korea. Why is Israel not bothered?

(cut)
It is up to Christians to call them out. It is not up to us heathen hellbound non-believers.
I take a person at his or her word: if that person says “I’m a Christian,” I believe them, unless they are called out by other Christians (that never happens).
A great number of Christians believe that acceptance of the Gospels and Jesus is the sole requirement to be a Christian. They are “saved” because they pray for forgiveness (instead of apologising and making amends).
Ain’t my job to say who is and who isn’t a Christian; it’s Christians’ job to do that.

Help me out here, only one semester of philosophy, nihilistic sophicism is?
Nihilism: Lack of belief in one or more of the reputed meaningful aspects of life. A moral nihilist argues there is no objective morality. An existential nihilist argues life has no meaning. &c
Solipsism: You can only be sure your own mind exists, as a philosophical position. As an epistemological position, you can only be sure your knowledge exists.
re: #209 HappyWarrior
Help me out here, only one semester of philosophy, nihilistic sophicism is?
Nihilism: rejecting all religious and moral principles in the belief that life is meaningless.
Solipsism: the view or theory that the self is all that can be known to exist.
In brief, the idea that only the fantasy of what exists in your mind is real and that nothing can be good or meaningful since it doesn’t exist. It’s an emotional crutch most useful at about the same time 12 year old boys discover either their penises or Ayn Rand.

So, today I was puttering around downtown in a junk store and lo and behold, lookie what I found!

An original 1977 pressing. I couldn’t believe my luck, LOL. And flawless - not a scratch on it. The woman who runs the junk store said she’d had it for quite some time; no one here had ever heard of “Meat Loaf” (aside from the main course). So I got it for about $2.75.
Took it home and blasted it, LOL.
They made a musical out of BOOH. I heard some songs that they played during the commercial sounded like the muzak version.
It made me sad.
Apparently, it is getting good reviews (yes, this is a good review):
Making his UK debut, Polec conceals in his thin, constantly topless frame an immense voice. He’s supported by a uniformly excellent cast - particularly Danielle Steers as Zahara, one of Strat’s pack, and Sharon Sexton as Falco’s wife Sloane providing comic relief.
A giant lattice lurches over the audience in Bausor’s mighty set, a huge Trump-style skyscraper soars into the flytower. Everything is in lurid colours, but smeared in post-apocalyptic grime, like a comic book come to life. Although set in the future, in many ways this feels old-fashioned, like a huge 1980s arena gig, intensified by Patrick Woodroffe’s blazing lighting.
Every moment of awful dialogue (Steinman can write songs, but is pretty weak on character) is a moment when the huge cast is not bashing out some awesome ballad, and the show occasionally suffers for it. The badly balletic choreography - huge lines of dancers all flapping their hands - looks messy and childlike.
But for its shortcomings, this extraordinarily silly production - like Rocky Horror in its self-awareness - is proof that a few stonking songs can sustain a show, and can bring a theatre and its audience thrillingly alive. Bonkers it may be but, hell, it’s pretty brilliant too.

They made a musical out of BOOH. I heard some songs that they played during the commercial sounded like the muzak version.
It made me sad.
Apparently, it is getting good reviews (yes, this is a good review):
Blechh. Think I’ll pass.
Humorously enough, a friend I shared a link to the title track with wrote me and back and she said, “WTF did I just listen to?! What is this? It’s like opera, but rock music”.
I wrote back, “Yeah, it’s called rock opera and even though “Bat Out of Hell” may not fully qualify as rock opera, it’s thematically close enough.
Stuff like that is largely unknown here. They know “Jesus Christ Superstar”, but I’ve never met anyone who’s heard the original album….the original concept album with Murray Head and Ian Gillan. Which is a shame, because that album is a damn masterpiece; the vocal performances are some of the best of all time.

the job of president used to be pretty rigorous. it was a way more than full schedule. Plus whatever time an achievement oriented person would use for research, reading, learning, etc.
the amount of time the moron in chief spends thinking up, composing, sending and i’m sure reading the reactions to his twits, well that is a not insignificant amount of his day.

There is no massive drop of support. He is president because he is offensive, mean-spirited, hateful and stupid, not in spite of it. Decency and kindness are not desirable traits for a significant percentage of Americans. And they have been made this way by their media.

I work with a woman who runs a community center here in Columbus. She is hoping to start a skills program for inner city Columbus folks to learn basic trades.
She has a big old former car dealership building next to and behind her center she is going to rehab and use as the target to use for the training. Her hope is to rehab the building and use it as an arts center and training center for inner city residents. This would be in addition to her community center she already operates.
Anyway, The Columbus Foundation, a trusted and long-operating local foundation that coordinates many Columbus Ohio charities, is having what they are calling The Big Give. They have 1.3 million dollars they are going to be giving as prorated matching funds to any funds the local charities raise in a 24 hour period.
If anyone is feeling charitable and would like to give to her fund I would greatly appreciate it. She has a big old heart and is always doing something for others.
Here is a link to The Columbus Foundation Big Give page for her Community Threads Inc. center. There is a minimum $20 gift. It started at 10 AM Eastern and runs for 24 hours.

Good news from last night’s board meeting: The chairwoman who totalled her car in singles combat with a deer is okay. They towed her car from the side of the highway this morning.
She was wondering how we’re driving our car when it only weighs about 1,100 pounds (though it required repair) while her Seventies land yacht was totalled. She hit her deer at about forty, I hit ours at sixty. (That is the difference of forty years of government regulations plus automotive engineering to comply between her car and ours.)
re: #206 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))
say what you want about his ability to govern, he is a master at manipulating the media
I am to the point of thinking that is no big feat. Our media is so starved for hits, likes and ratings they will follow anything at any time no matter how freaking stupid it is.
If Trump knows anything he knows this…probably from the self-realization NBC gave him a show and it actually was fairly successful.

Retaining walls don’t quite give the same way a deer does.
That said, any car would probably need to be written off after hitting a wall at that speed; the fact your wife walked away from that wreck shows how well the car is designed to protect its passengers.

Yeah I should have brought my kindle. Oh well. Know this now if I ever go back to this office.
I have a Kindle app on my phone which is always with me. I wouldn’t go anywhere without it.
When I used to travel for work (average 10 days when going overseas), pre Kindle app days (when the Kindles were new and very expensive - and you needed a separate reading light to read it in the dark, which always made me nuts, but I digress), when I was traveling overseas, I would bring ten books packed into my luggage. I always loved schlepping a few extra pounds of luggage, it made travel so much fun. (gag)
Having the Kindle app on my phone was the biggest game changer for me (who reads on average over 250 books a year).

Page Six .com - Insider claims Bill Clinton is ‘heartsick’ over Hillary’s book tour
Edward Klein, who has written several books about the Clintons and Kennedys, has a hotly anticipated book, “All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump,” out Oct. 30.
In the meantime, he reveals that Hillary Clinton’s finger-pointing book, “What Happened” — which is chock-full of excuses for her shocking election loss to Donald Trump — may be a best seller, but Bill Clinton tossed his copy in the trash can and is heartsick over his wife’s current blame-game book tour.
“Before Hillary sent the manuscript to her publisher, she gave it to Bill to read, and he made major changes with a red pencil,” said a close Clinton family friend. “But she refused to even read his corrections, and he got so furious that he tossed the entire manuscript into the garbage.
“He told her the book made her look bewildered, angry and confused, and that those were poor qualities in a person who aspired to be a world leader,” the friend continued.
“He hated the title because calling it ‘What Happened’ would only make people say, ‘You lost.’ He urged her to postpone the pub date and rewrite the book, but she yelled at him and said, ‘The book is finished and that’s how it’s going to be published.’ “
Since their fight last summer over the book, Bill’s negative feelings about Hillary’s memoir have grown even more intense as she’s used her book tour to blame her loss on Russian hackers, former FBI Director James Comey and women who didn’t vote for her.
Klein writes in his upcoming book that Bill warned Hillary a month before the election that she was losing and that she needed to campaign in the Rust Belt states.
“She told him he was delusional,” Klein writes.
“Bill’s criticism — and what Hillary sees as his lack of sympathy — has driven a wedge between them,” the friend said. “They haven’t been speaking for months. They’ve been communicating through friends and lawyers.”
“Ed is a sad man,” a spokesman for Hillary said. “And a pathetic liar,” added Bill’s rep.

A secondary officer said East was completing paperwork at a computer in a briefing room as Daniels reportedly faced the opposite direction of East, slightly offset from one another.
The secondary officer reportedly left the room when he heard a “loud bang.” When he returned to the briefing room, East had been mortally wounded, with an apparent gunshot wound.
“A .45-caliber RP shell casing was located near Officer East,” the report states. “(The secondary officer on scene) also advised Officer East’s police body camera was missing and Officer East’s pistol was in his holster.”

Michigan’s chief medical executive, Dr. Eden Wells, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office Monday for her role in allowing inadequately treated water from the Flint River to cause an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in the city. In addition to the city’s lead-poisoned water, the Legionnaires’ outbreak was one more delightful result of the state’s attempt to save a few million dollars by switching the city’s water source to the Flint River without adequately treating the water to prevent corrosion of the city’s water pipes. At least 12 people died and 79 became sick. Wells had already been charged with obstruction of justice and making a false statement in the state’s investigation of the Flint water crisis, and faces up to 15 years in prison on the new charges.

And all the Pulpit Pimps that support the Chief Gas Bag…your seats are being arranged in your hell. Enjoy. Your God is watching you in these times of need, like the people in Puerto Rico. Just think what selling off one of those extra homes, or that personal plane could do for them if you donated that money to their cause.

So concealed carry lead to a police hero with a gun getting shot and killed by a rich white boy who grabbed his body camera and ran off to hide.
So much about that is wrong….

still you just chased a guy down. control him. determine whether he’s still a threat
what do i know?

Jason Maddy in Puerto Rico has a PayPal address to accept donations. They look like honest people so I’m repeating it here.
support AT operatorscache DOT com
OT: In the bevy of bills I mailed out with the water sample this morning was a donation to Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.
Last year, I called them asking for the local address so I could send them a cheque to support their programme to provide services to those who could not pay for them.
Planned Parenthood’s office was suspicious of why some guy out in the western part of the state would call them asking for their address, but after several calls to me (and I assume verifying who I said I was) sent me a letter with their mail address.
Last week they sent a thank you letter for my donation from the previous year, to which I responded with another donation. (The nearest PP clinic within this state is four hundred miles from here.)

I don’t want the death penalty used. Should he be found guilty after a fair trial, I want him to spend the rest of his very long life in prison without possibility of parole (cheaper than death penalty appeals anyway). Priorities. Fill time slots with vacuous drivel with high profile talking heads, or get news staff who can actually do journalism and produce news?
It’s easy - ignore how news is created, and find talking heads.
That Puerto Rico isn’t front page stuff every goddamned day is because media outlets simply aren’t putting resources into covering it (you have to locate staff there). And if you don’t have news, you’re not reporting on it.
Instead, we’re covering arrests at a McDonalds because they don’t have Schezuan sauce.

Poor Bob Corker. He says what needs to be said about the Water Buffalo (Thanks Keith) President probably hoping to give some opening cover for other GOP Congressfolk to speak up.
Nothing.
He’s left hanging on the clothesline to dry.
Yet reports say behind the scenes he is getting a lot of attaboy compliments about speaking up.
And then they all run off to their offices to come up with some nonsense about how great it is that Corker speaks up…but only for himself and that they don’t see what good comes out of poking the Big Orange Balloon.
They’ve all been Trumped and Bannoned.

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to enter a drawing for a local gift certificate. It took me about three minutes to remember my zip code. I’ve lived in the same zip code since 1995. I actually have two, one for the residence, one for the P.O. box. They are one digit apart, and I couldn’t remember either one.
This morning I woke up and thought it was Sunday for a while. I think I wanted do-overs.

Edit: I guess the point of this is that it would have taken a simple google search to find out just how popular the show is. The fact that no one in marketing had enough of a clue to alert everyone to what might happen (shortage, not riots) speaks to how inadequate that side was.
re: #483 Belafon
Have you seen parents fight over Christmas toys? As I mention above, remember beanie babies?

True enough, thought it was more a cult show than favorite of the masses.
By cult I mean, a small but dedicated following.

Please dog let them slip in a personality test and a mental health test in there as well.
I can see it now…
“Mr. President, it seems that your personality is idiotic evil, your mental health/age is around that of a 3rd grader and your IQ is room temperature of an non-insulated cabin in the middle of Alaska in December.”
re: #477 Belafon
The people doing that reporting want you to miss that second fact.
Yes, the people at McDonald’s were idiots. But that doesn’t mean the news has to spend time on them, unless they want to.
Kind of like us here.
I disagree, the Szechuan sauce riot isn’t a distraction but a small representative fractal of our modern reality and the dystopian set of priorities that drives it. I think it’s important that we take a long hard look at what it is about our society that drives shit like that.
I am a huge Rick and Morty fan…. I get the joke about the McD’s sauce.
Why people care about that sauce though is beyond my understanding. Of course though I am a honey man with my nuggets.

They did underestimate the demand. I don’t think they could have anticipated how crazy people would get.
have you noticed who the prez is?

Social media and the internet. What else could drive something of this nature to being cult status. If we didn’t have the internet/social media I don’t see this exploding the way it did.
Also the same social media brought us the orange asshole.

My son retweeted this video by a group of veterans helping western Puerto Rico recover from the hurricane. Their biggest complaint: supplies in San Juan are not getting sent to western PR. It looks like these guys have done their own logistics efforts, judging from Jason Maddy’s Facebook page. (Link below)

I’d love to see Trump revealed to have an average to subpar IQ then see him insist IQ tests don’t matter after this.
Trump’s lawyer will be releasing a statement shortly. He’s seen trump’s I.Q. test scores, and they’re literally the most impressive he’s ever seen.
And, since he’s released a notarized letter stating such, the press can move on to more important matters. Like spoiled rich black athletes disrespecting our nation’s flag and the soldiers who gave their lives protecting their very freedom…
My 100 year old maple tree made the news yesterday, I chose not to speak to the media but my neighbor Alan did.

What I don’t get is why grow violent over it. Why harass the workers. It’s going to be really embarrassing when these people have to explain they have an arrest over a dipping sauce.

It was reported that Tillerson said Trump is a fucking moron and was talked out of resigning. Tillerson gave a press conference and denied threatening to resign but didn’t deny the comment. Trump tweeted it was fake news but could beat Tillerson in an IQ test.

tRump got mad about his wang size and that Rex apparently called the orange one a “fucking moron.” Thus tRump had to respond and challenge Rex to a IQ test-off because ya know… he went the best school and has the best words.

That I can’t explain. Why would a mom pull a gun out to get the last folder at Walmart? Why would people trample each other on Black Friday? Why would anyone set up a tent the Tuesday before Black Friday? Why is the sauce that important?

Looks like the Catalonian President is delaying any declaration of independence from Spain in favour of political dialogue with Madrid.
We propose to suspend the effect of the independence declaration… in order to work towards putting into practice the result of the referendum… Today, we are making a gesture of responsibility in favour of dialogue

Interesting that you mention mayonnaise. If you leave that old jar out in the sun with the top off you will actually be able to grow hair that looks much like Tangerine Jar Jar’s hair.

If the last couple years have taught me anything it’s that intelligence is compartmentalized to a degree I’d previously never imagined possible. For example, the fact that a brain surgeon like Ben Carson can be such a phenomenal dumbshit about virtually everything beyond the physical structure of the brain just astounds me.

You’re not kidding. I was shocked with how unintelligent Carson is about politics.

HuffPost has a story up that among his targets were Angelina Jolie and Gweneth Paltrow, both when quite young. Jolie said she made the decision to never work with him again and warned others about working with him.
Amber Tambyn outed James Woods as a huge creep too. Republicans aren’t saying anything about him.
OK, my burrito buddy is back on the road (we fixed a flat and adjusted his [bike’s] headset [with some help from a hammer]) and I got 4 AAA batteries and two movies on DVD. I sent him elsewhere with his teakettle, a bag of M&Ms, and two nice-looking bolo ties.

Trump takes IQ test, scores badly.
IQ tests are rigged, everybody knows. I don’t need IQ tests to prove how smart I am. Do you know how many electorals I won?
