Colbert: Terrified Trump Throws His Riot Mob Under a Bus to Save His Neck (And Get Back on Twitter)

Facing threats of impeachment, and with calls for his resignation coming from even the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board, the president on Thursday released a video in which he unconvincingly condemned the insurrection he incited, and begrudgingly admitted that a new administration would take office following an orderly transition of power on January 20th. #Colbert #ALateShow #Monologue

The last day of Trump’s term can’t arrive soon enough. It would almost be worth it for Pence to make a deal to pardon Trump if he would resign today. Trump can still be prosecuted in N.Y. I don’t believe for a second that GOP Senators have the stones to remove Trump from office if he is impeached.

I don’t want the motherfather to resign. I want him impeached for a second time and I do NOT care if there aren’t 67 votes to remove his shitty ass from the Oval Office. I want that son of a CENSORED to be humiliated knowing he will go down in the history books as the only president impeached twice.

And then I want Letitia James to can his sorry ass.

GOP candidate for Va. governor has Facebook account suspended after posting conspiracy theories (WJHL-TV, Johnson City, Virginia)

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Facebook has suspended the official account for Virginia State Senator Amanda Chase, a Republican candidate for governor that routinely posts false conspiracy theories and other outlandish claims.

Chase, an outspoken supporter of President Trump, posted on her personal Facebook page Friday that her official account was suspended for 60 days.

It comes a day after Facebook announced it was suspending the president’s use of Facebook and Instagram “indefinitely,” at least until inauguration day.

“Facebook continues to restrict free speech,” Chase wrote on Facebook. “Because what I have to say does not fit their narrative my Senator Amanda Chase page has been silenced for 60 days. We no longer have free speech here in America.”

Chase most recently amplified claims, which haven’t been supported by evidence, that Antifa members led the mob that stormed the Capitol on Wednesday. One post shared a Washington Examiner article, which has since been corrected, that erroneously claimed a facial recognition company’s software spotted Antifa members. Chase did not remove the post after that correction was made.

At this point, I’m a bit divided. James has been patiently waiting for her turn to open a can of whup-ass on this fat orange motherfucker, but then again, so has Merrick Garland… and now he’s armed with federal crimes and a shiny new Attorney General title for just such an occasion.

Or even, two months ago, that we just need to “give him time” and “he’ll get over it”. We said at that time that would all end in tears, and what do you know - five people are dead, one of them a good Capitol Police officer. Fuck all of them, sideways, with a rusty pitchfork.

I know that Twitter has warned Trump that his account could be permanently suspended for more inflammatory tweets, but I think they would do a great service to the world to do so immediately, and, if that isn’t possible, taking him offline on Jan. 20. He will use all means available to him to be the turd in the punchbowl on inauguration day.

I want him to resign today because then he can no longer use the levers of government to undermine our nation. Every additional minute he is in power gives him more time to commit treason or orchestrate a coup or pardon more criminals or steal our money.

The reason I want DT impeached (as opposed to all other removal options) is that I want the impeachment tried in the Senate, and I want every single one of those oath-breaking republican scum forced to vote aye or no in public and on the record.

That’s how we’ll see where their loyalties really lie.

Texas woman flew on private jet to Washington, DC, to ‘storm the Capitol’

I’d be sweating bullets right now if I owned that Piaggio. If you provide a vehicle for an illegal purpose, which is what this kraken clearly and openly intended, it can be impounded and possibly seized completely by the court. She even used it to transport equipment for a clearly intended break-in.
This happened to a car dealer I worked for in Amarillo back in the 70s. Two of our teenage lot attendants took a nearly new Datsun 260Z out on their lunch break, as they were allowed to do. They were caught smoking a joint and the car was impounded.
Adding insult to injury, the dealer itself had a contract to operate the DPS impound facility, where drug-seized cars were brought for storage. We endured the humiliation of seeing our own car towed into our own locked impound yard to await legal disposition. We got it back after a couple of months, but that still represents a loss of carrying charge and sales opportunity. The lot guys disappeared from the dealership but one of them re-surfaced years later as a real estate agent in Lubbock.

Hate being “that guy”
But, that’s not a “jet”

Meanwhile, I think back to that clip where a lone (black) Capitol Police officer is trying to hold off the horde at the bottom of a stairwell; the horde lurches and jumps forward, basically chasing him up the stairs. All the while, he’s frantically trying to radio for backup; as he’s going upstairs, he picks up and whips out his baton to get them to back off, but they just keep coming at him, daring him to swing, so he has no choice but to retreat further inside.

Pro-Trump mob chases lone Black police officer up stairs in Capitol

If the cop had actually hit the lead dude daring him to take a swing, the mob would have likely killed him too and he knew it.

Someone’s practice is about to crash. Seattle isn’t well know for its right wing politics. So I sense some economic insecurity is in her future.

I am of two minds about this.

So we declare total war against all who voted GOP? Not sure that’s a viable strategy. Neither is complete capitulation.

The work of the next four years is going to be figuring out what it takes to bring 74 million people back in touch with reality.

The work of the next four years is going to be figuring out what it takes to bring 74 million people back in touch with reality.

Yes. Drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Do whatever it takes to enact progressive policies that are almost universally popular like abortion rights, serious gun background checks, expanded access to useful health insurance, tax hikes on the wealthy. Let people see that the Democrats actually give a damn about improving their lives. Show them that the GOP has nothing but feudalism, fascism, and a death cult.

[Embedded content]

If the cop had actually hit the lead dude daring him to take a swing, the mob would have likely killed him too and he knew it.

The lead dude has a name (and soon, hopefully a prison ID #)

Doug Jensen, a 41-year-old Des Moines man, was identified in multiple videos and photographs at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday wearing a “QAnon” T-shirt over a sweatshirt and a knit cap.

The air defenses around the Capitol were beefed up in 2001-3, because a lot of people in the military read Clancy too. Since then, they’ve had to add an additional layer because of drones.

Then again, if the rot has spread as far as it has inside the cops/military (white supremacist infiltration has just been exposed as A Real Thing), then yeah, maybe some Warrant Officer flips a switch and the inbound skybomb disappears from the radar scopes?

That’s correct. You can have superseding indictments. There are easier charges to make stick than others. The trespass, destruction of federal property, etc. are easier to make given the sheer number of cameras on Capitol Hill, than sedition/insurrection.

Prosecutors might also be waiting until after 1/20 to file.

I’m also wondering if the strategy to not arrest everyone straight away was due to lack of manpower and that law enforcement figured cameras identifying everyone would be sufficient to pick them off one at a time. It’s a dreadful choice.

With or without known Senate probabilities for Conviction, it is required that The House impeaches the President now. Right now.

Every single day he remains in office things are normalized in the minds of his cult. The upcoming advertised armed march by Trump’s terrorist gangs on the 17th will go down, they will be bloody, and it is necessary to have a twice-impeached Trump in the lead for that much more re: #215 thedopefishlives

It’s almost as if they thought they had someone in a really powerful position to help them gain access, organize, and execute a staged rally in order to infiltrate and kidnap or kill members of Congress. It’s almost as if they knew that if they did get caught, they would just receive a quick Pardon anyway and never suffer any consequences. I wonder who gave them that idea?

Joint Session of Congress where he was going to be announced as VP and publicly sworn in. Ryan was in the tunnels when the 747 crashed into the building killing Congress, SCOTUS, and POTUS. The recently resigned VP was not in attendance and there was a plot line where he claimed that he was legit president since the oath wasn’t administered (it was), and in legal filings, the resigned VP referred to Ryan as President showing that he was “really bad at being a lawyer”.

A law enforcement officer was murdered. Beaten to death with a fire extinguisher.

That’s the predicate act for a felony murder charge against the insurrectionists.

The reason why I keep going back to the law enforcement officer being killed is that it meets all the qualifications in most jurisdictions for a felony murder charge to attach. He was purposefully assaulted and died of his injuries. It was an attack in conjunction with the forcible trespass on Capitol Hill with intent to do harm.

The other deaths don’t qualify as felony murder, including the shooting of the trespasser because law enforcement has the right to use deadly force under those circumstances where their lives are at risk - and being stormed by a mob of blood thirsty insurrectionists qualifies IMO.

DOJ Backs Away From Targeting Trump And Others For Remarks Inciting Capitol Riot

The worst mistake Obama made was letting Bush, Cheney, and the bankster go.

That and allowing Shirley Sherrod’s boss to fire her because he was afraid of what Glenn Beck would say about what she said.

I pray that Merrick Garland does not make the same mistake with Trump, and his cronies. That practically guarantees that the GOP will remain a Trump party, and the next GOP POTUS will establish an effective dictatorship, a la Brazil, Hungary, or Turkey.

These people must be stopped NOW!

That someone is Parler, a beacon to all who value their liberty, free speech, and personal privacy.”

!!!!! “Facebook’s own research revealed that 64 percent of the time a person joins an extremist Facebook Group, they do so because the platform recommended it.” @moonalice on platforms role in facilitating insurrection and what comes next.

This could, and should, get Zuckerberg and the other Facebook officers in serious criminal trouble in a lot of countries. Essentially, incitement to terrorism: the platform itself, not the users on it, are directing users to extremist (and in enough cases, legally terrorist) sites. I’d expect some country to want one of those responsible extradited at some point, and the charges won’t be parking-ticket level.

At least there is the fact that the so called “James Bond” books of improvised weapons are 90% wrong to the point where when the work accidents happen the cops can tell which book the moron was using to kill himself.

No, the bigger danger I see with this one is he apparently mixed laundry soap into his fuel to thicken it up as home made Napalm. Even worse would be if he knew the kind and amount of plastic to grind up and add along with some powdered metal of various kinds. That would create a napalm/thermite mix that would stick to whatever it splattered on complicating both firefighting and EMT work.

Merrick Garland’s DOJ must prosecute Trump for incitement, and all other acts of corrupt totally and completely.

Throughout the book, President Durling faces another political crisis: Vice President Ed Kealty is forced to resign after being accused of rape. With the crisis over, President Durling nominates Ryan as vice president for successfully handling the crisis. However, an embittered Japan Air Lines pilot, driven mad by the deaths of his son and brother during the conflict, flies his Boeing 747 directly into the U.S. Capitol during a special joint session of Congress. The president, as well as nearly the entire Congress, the Supreme Court, and many other members of the federal government are killed in the attack. Ryan, who is on his way to be sworn as vice president after being confirmed, narrowly escapes the explosion. He becomes the President of the United States and takes his oath of office before a district judge in the CNN studios in Washington.

Don’t knock him for that. Typically state level legislators and even it can be argued Congress members make very little salary (DC costs of living) and this is why usually it is the already wealthy have a natural advantage of holding office.
