Neo-Nazi Friends of Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer Attack Police

World • Views: 8,547

Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, arguably the two most visible spokespeople of the anti-Muslim group “Stop Islamization of America,” are both very vocal supporters of the British organization called the English Defense League — an offshoot of the neo-Nazi British National Party, composed in large part of skinheads, white supremacists, and football yobs.

Today an EDL anti-Islam demonstration turned violent (not for the first time), as the skinheads and neo-Nazis attacked police with rocks, bottles, and smoke bombs.

Bricks, bottles and smoke bombs were thrown at anti-racist supporters and police as around 700 EDL activists – including known football hooligans and BNP members – held a “static protest” in Bradford city centre. Mounted officers and others in riot gear were attacked as they pushed the EDL into a penned area. Skirmishes continued as EDL speakers addressed the crowd and there was more violence as its supporters were put back on coaches.

More than 1,600 officers from 13 forces were involved in the police operation amid fears that the demonstration would descend into violence. Police said there had been five arrests.

The EDL, which has held demonstrations in towns and cities across the country over the past 12 months, had predicted that thousands of its supporters would turn out in Bradford for what was dubbed “the big one”, but police said there were around 700 people.

Earlier in the afternoon coachloads of EDL activists had chanted “Allah, Allah, who the fuck is Allah?” and “Muslim bombers off our streets”.

One of the coach drivers said: “I didn’t expect a job like this when I came to work this morning. We’re a five-star firm. We don’t usually take scumbags like these.”

And Pamela Geller is already trying to blame the violence on Muslims, of course:

Chanting “give us our country back” and holding signs saying “no more mosques” and “no to sharia (law),” the EDL protesters were soon pushed back by police. The English Defence League was founded a year ago in Luton as a response to the vile Muslim protests hurling disgusting abuse at returning Brit soldiers. The stated goal of the EDL is to oppose militant Islam and the sharia.

What’s wrong with that? Everything to the PC, leftist slaves in the media and the government.

Things got ugly at a demonstration in Bradford, UK today. Expect media to blame the EDL when, in fact, the Muslims and the leftists (under the Orwellian moniker UAF — United Against Fascism) showed up to agitate and incite violence.

The fascists always show up at EDL demonstrations to deliberately incite to violence. The goosesteppers take their talking points from Goebbels…. fascists yelling fascist

Well there's a reason why she's called Crazy Pam. And I must have missed the part where Goebells called the Nazi's opponents fascists. The Nazis' big allies were fascists. But I guess that's another talking point about how left wingers are Nazis even though the Nazis persecuted Left wingers the most and hint Pam associated Jews with Marxism.

This strategy drives me nuts - when openly engaging in something, make sure to accuse the other side of it first; that way when the finger gets pointed back at you, all a less-informed observer sees is two sides making the same accusation at each other. They do this even when only and exactly one side is extremely clearly fascist, having an ideological lineage that goes directly and openly back to Hitler. And beyond all reason, they expect to get away with it.

Look for "unbiased" coverage from Human Events and Stormfront.

The Police banned the march.

To quote UK's Channel 4 News: "the EDL are, deliberately choosing a city famous for its ethnic diversity and large immigrant population in which to hold a rally. A pretty large shutdown from shops and businesses and an equally large police operation too - after the government banned all marches through the city today."

Here's their report.

As usual, it's "They didn't choose to riot, they were 'incited'!" Say Pam, have you and your fellow brown shirts across the pond considered that, if you don't want to look like a bunch of violent bigots, you might not...you know...act like it? That if you know they're trying to get you to act out in order to look bad, don't give them frakin' satisfaction?

Oy frakin' vey.

Hmm...

In 2008, 105 hate crime incidents against Muslims were reported nationwide. There were 10 times as many incidents that were recorded as anti-Jewish during the same year, the most recent for which figures are available.

What the fuck were they supposed to do? Run and hide?

Weber also pointed out that the women have already received settlements of between $20,000 and $30,000 from the lawsuit that first attracted White's attention.

So what? That has nothing to do with White who committed his tortious act after the landlord committed his.

Each thought there was one cat too many
So they fought and they fit
And they scratched and they bit
'Till instead of two cats
There weren't any.

My open challenge is still open: Any whingenut who can actually tell me what "freedoms" he or she has lost since Obama became president will get a personalized copy of my book, "Cato's Politically Incorrect Incorrect Guide to Crazy Fucktards".

Hmm... how about the freedom to not let me give them health insurance coverage, so if they get sick they end up having to go to the emergency room and I as a taxpayer end up on the hook for twenty times the cost as if they'd let me cover them to begin with? Does that count as a freedom? They keep saying it does.

Here's Beck on 'stick' from an earlier speech:

I have a different relationship with the Lord, sometimes he just tolerates me. I think if I would have been standing there, I would have said exactly what Moses said: Who am I? Who am I to say these things? Why would they ever believe me? That’s when the Lord said, Take this. I would have responded, A stick? You give me stick? It wasn’t just a stick—it was a symbol of faith. First it changed into a snake, great, but as Moses understood, as Moses grew, that stick parted the waters. The Lord gives us all our own stick. He gives us every tool we need, and while we as humans may look at it and say, what am I going to do with a stick? He knows—trust in Him. The easy stuff is the answer. Right now you have the greatest minds all over the world trying to figure out what to do, what to do, what to do. Turn to God and live. I think of the advice that I could possibly give to you and first among is that—turn to God and live. You have all that you need; you are powerful. There is a reason for you being here—find it. Life is only what you make of it, nothing more, nothing less. You will be a slave or you will pick up your stick and chart a new course.

Idiots in America are freer now than ever before in history!

Why, they can even read Ayn Rand in public!

Well, Ayn Rand was actually right about at least two things (though her insight was not original):

1. Some people can only feel secure and and satisfied by running other people down. (BTW: Ayn Rand herself was one such person)

2. That psychological need to run down others causes a great deal of human misery. Much of that need is on display at EDL or Anti-Park 51 protests.

As I mentioned, Ayn Rand was not the first person to have this insight (which she first put to print in The Fountainhead). Aristotle had understood this need (and before him Plato and Socrates). Through Aristotle Saint Thomas Aquinas knew that and worked to explain how Christianity could combat that need and help people find security another way. The pity is that Ayn Rand had to figure it out for herself, since unlike the Greek Philosophers and St. Thomas, she was an unwise and insecure person. Hence her nasty "social novel" Atlas Shrugged. 1) Ricotta cheese.

2) Any recipe that calls for water that the taste won't ruin. Using soup as an example, it's great in things like a beef stew and ruins an avgolemono (in my opinion.) It's excellent in breads, and shouldn't be used for biscuits.

3) Pet food supplement.

Shockwave? Defibrillator? Miracle? Man oh man Glenn Beck is delusional. That was one of the most boring speeches I've ever heard outside of the 8th grade.

Just when I think they're going to show some cojones and let loose at their big event with what they actually want, it turns into nothing more than a big "kumbaya" for America. Which is actually quite nice. Sounds like a lovely time. Even Sarah pulled her "don't retreat" thing without adding "... reload!" which shows considerable restraint.

It occurs to me that this event might actually take some of the teeth out of the tea party movement. If they all show up for a big rally expecting some firebrand proposals and get nothing but vague platitudes, it may shift perception of the movement (from within as well as without) as actually having no actual proposals for action. It's one thing to support or oppose a movement that has specific things it wants to do to/for the country. It's another to have a club that just cheerleads for America and religion. The latter is nice, but it's not really threatening to anybody or anything, and ultimately there's not much point.

I'm trying to find a transcript of Alveda King's speech today, which I suspect was more inspiring than Beck... here is a piece of an interview she did with Beck yesterday...

"ALVEDA KING: Somebody called me, I don't know if it was yesterday or today, and they said put on the full armor and that's the helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit, breastplate of righteousness, girdle of truth, sandals of the gospel of peace and the shield of faith. And then hold up the blood stained banner of Jesus, and that banner, his banner over us is love. So, you know, you were saying before, it's not about hating people, it's not about being angry, let's try to communicate, let's try to be one. You know, it's not about who goes to which rally or which march today. It's about unifying ourselves in love, honoring each other. And that's the main point. So come expecting to honor, to love. To serve. That's what I want people to do. "

I won't link to Beck, but you can find this if you want to read the whole thing. I don't know why she has become a turncoat to her uncle's message. He would have never appeared at this event.

Beer is food, isn't it? Tonight I'll be attending my friend's 15th Annual AUGUST FEST. This year he has home brewed four beers (he usually does 5-6) and once again is opening up his home, backyard and grill.

On the whey thing, I've no idea.

re: #174 kirkspencer

1) Ricotta cheese.

2) Any recipe that calls for water that the taste won't ruin. Using soup as an example, it's great in things like a beef stew and ruins an avgolemono (in my opinion.) It's excellent in breads, and shouldn't be used for biscuits.

3) Pet food supplement.

good ideas. I made a small batch of yogurt (3-4 cups) so I probably don't have enough to make Ricotta. This batch may just go to the cats. I'll make ricotta next time.

The NPS stopped because its more trouble than its worth. If the tally is favorable to the marchers, those opposing the event say the count was inflated. If its below what was expected (absent rain or snow), then the march organizers will say it was deliberately uncounted. No matter what the estimate is, it will be subject to politically motivated attacks. The Park Service knew they couldn't win at the game, so they gave up playing it.

Well, they don't want to repeal the 13th Amendment, "Thirteeners" want to add an amendment and renumber the rest. To be fair, such people have clearly stated they don't want the recognized 13th Amendment repealed. It's the 14th Amendment they dislike, since that's the one that enhanced the powers of Congress and the expense of the states. Congress needed that power to correct egregious violations of life, liberty, and property in the southern states, but state's rights activists have always hated it.

Technically, they claim that the original not-quite-ratified version should replace the actually-ratified version. That version would disqualify anyone having any kind of title or receiving any foreign honor from holding office. So if you accept a Nobel Prize, that automatically kicks you out of government. Also if you're a lawyer. So pretty much every act of Congress since 1819 would be voided.

As far as the 14th amendment goes, repealing it would also repeal this part:

...But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

So if it were repealed, families of former slaveowners would be able to sue the federal government for taking away their slaves.

Fair enough - if as some of them claim, we recognize that the original 13th was really ratified, that would just renumber the rest of them, so the current 13th would be the 14th, etc. If the original were introduced as a new amendment, it would be the 28th.

And yet, they did.

It seems so primitive. But it really wasn't that long ago.

I literally wet myself laughing at Pamela describing a Conservative Government as "leftist".

Not long ago at all. There are still many people walking around who've sat and talked to ex-slaves, in person, about what their lives were like.

slaves born in the early 1850's were of age to understand when that's just how it was and all you had to look forward to, then the war, then emancipation and reconstruction and on into Jim Crow. When those ex-slaves were in their 80's and 90's, in the 1930's and 1940's, they went to schools to talk to 1st and 2nd graders and answer their questions. Those children are now in their 70's and 80's. We still have 20 years left that there will be people among us who've discussed antebellum Georgia or South Carolina with eyewitnesses.

And of course, the same holds true for children whose daddy gave them a slave companion for their 5th birthday present.

It makes me smile to think some of those slave children lived long enough to see Brown v. Board. A handful might have even made it all the way to the Civil Rights Act.

Charlie Smith was born free, in Liberia. He was taken as a child on a slave ship. He was a slave on the Smith Ranch. He had a very, very long life. My father interviewed him when he was over 100 years old, and he out-lived my father. You probably never heard of the Smith Ranch, but you might have heard of the ranch after it traded hands. It became known as the King ranch. Yep. You can guessed right. One of Martin Luther King's family was a slave there, and that is the origin of the name.
Oh, and Charlie? He outlived three wives. He lied on one of his marriage licenses about his age, which some use to say that he was born later than he claimed.
He was 132 years old. My mother knew the morgue deener that assisted in his autopsy. He could not verify the age, but he said he had assisted in many 98-year olds, and knowing that human fat yellows as a person ages, he could attest that it was the oldest person he had ever worked on.

He has a book; Charlie Smith and The Fritter Tree. I haven't read it.

Six degrees of Martin Luther King.

Fascists throw like girls
Can't take a punch either...

I remember talking to a WWII infantry vet years ago about the fighting abilities of the opposing armies. Part of his response was along the lines of, "They grew up playing soccer. We grew up playing baseball and football. We had way more distance and accuracy when it came to tossing grenades." He also said the average Wehrmacht soldier was better in a lot of areas, including marksmanship. "We beat them with more people and more ammo."

re: #89 Cato the Elder

To quote Medaura: "Dumb, dumb, bimbo hack."

My open challenge is still open: Any whingenut who can actually tell me what "freedoms" he or she has lost since Obama became president will get a personalized copy of my book, "Cato's Politically Incorrect Incorrect Guide to Crazy Fucktards".

Supplies limited, so respond now!

Updinged, but isn't "Crazy Fucktards" a redundancy?

One from our local Department of Redundancy Department--Billboard near the junction of two of our local expressways, showing some typical room-temp-IQ fans of the local almost perennially unsuccessful NFL team, with the caption--

"The World's GREATEST FOOTBALL FANS in the World!"

I like the part where Beck describes his upcoming speech as
"a fibullator to the heart of America...8/28..."

I live in Ohio, which bills itself as "The Heart of It All". We don't need a "fibullator" or even a fibrillator. Maybe more defibrillators.

What IS a "fibullator"? Something that detects fibs? If so, that sucker must have burnt itself out at the Beck rally.

The EDL are vile islamophobes, but to describe them as bigoted white nationalist football hooligans is simply inaccurate. Depending on the rally, their numbers can be as high as a third minority (e.g jewish, hindu, sihk, etc), and regularly burn nazi flags and at least once a National Front flag. And nobody in England will argue that UAF doesn't start most of the physical altercations they get involved in.

Again, I'm in NO way a supporter of the EDF, but from what I hear from people I talk to every day in England, the media's narrative of them is way off base.

Right. They're just misunderstood.
