Video: Trump Supporter Screams “JEW-S-A” at Reporters in Phoenix

“We’re run by the Jews, OK?”
Politics • Views: 60,045

This was the scene at Donald Trump’s rally tonight in Phoenix, Arizona, as a guy in an Infowars (Alex Jones’ crazed conspiracy site) T-shirt hurled insults at the reporters in the “press pen,” then started chanting “JEW-S-A” as the rest of the crowd chanted “U-S-A.”

When the chants died down, he said, “We’re run by the Jews, OK?”

What can anyone even say about this any more? This screaming antisemitic madness is the horrible face of the Trump campaign, and it’s now the face of the Republican Party too.

Gee, I can’t understand why Jewish voters don’t support the GOP….

Sam Wang, who has consistently put Nebraska in the GOP column, is now moving NE-2 (Omaha) from “safe GOP” to “lean GOP”

Every electoral vote they lose anywhere is just more money and time they don’t have to try and fight for them back.

Sam Wang also has an interesting chart up right now on different groups of the electorate and how they have become polarised since 1996:

election.princeton.edu

African-Americans, no religion, and white college grads have moved strongly for the Democrats, while Evangelicals and white non-college grads have move strongly to the GOP.

As a white non-college grad, I have been left behind. Do I still have a place in the Democratic Party? /s

re: #90 BigPapa

I noticed that nut was making the same hand sign Chuccubus has been doing lately. Wondering what significance that is.

I think I figured it out:

I’ve been wondering what was up with the sudden rise in popularity of the “OK” hand sign. I’ve been seeing it used a lot lately by celebrities, musicians, and clueless hipsters. But until today I guess I was clueless as well because it never dawned on me that the sign could possibly represent 666, and considering who is using the sign…it makes it seem even more likely. I didn’t figure it out on my own of course, I saw it in some video on youtube. I don’t remember which but I searched for “horned hand” and it was in one of the videos about that sign. Not that I believe everything I see on youtube, but it has to have some significance to these Hollywood Illuminati puppets and their masters or it wouldn’t be so prevalent lately. They also do the sign in front of their eye a lot…you know how much they like eye symbolism.

I’m not saying that this sign is not also used to mean “okay”, scuba divers use it for that, but I don’t think it means the same thing to everyone…much like any sign or symbol. I guess what matters is the power behind the people using the signs and symbols and I think most all of us agree that it is an evil power that is behind the use of signs and symbols by the entertainment class of the NWO pyramid. Also I think it’s pretty safe to assume that anything Lady Gaga does is evil.

Yeah. If the Browns had a winning season this year, I would have been worried.
Yellowstone volcanic eruption, massive earthquakes everywhere, an Orange pig in the White House…

They did make the right decision with the Jackson hire though. What needs to happen is ownership and fans need to be patient and let things develop. Chuck Noll only won one game his first year with the Steelers. If the Browns are patient and draft well, they could be a good team. I do think they missed out though by not drafting Carson Wentz though. No idea what next year’s QB class looks like though.

Too bad he ruined it with calling Trump a liberal. Because fuck him. Liberals didn’t put Trump this close to the Presidency, that was “conservatives”, so fuck him. Yeah I’m sick of NeverTrumpers trying to claim Trump’s a leftist or liberal. Uh please. No self respecting liberal or leftist would ever want to run for President in your party and nor would one even consider a theocratic dick like Mike Pence to be anywhere near the Presidency.

I’ve been poking around YouTube for fingerstyle guitar tunes. Here’s another Canon in D performed by a teenager, Virginia Nguyen. Her channel is mostly all in Vietnamese, but I gather she’s 15 or 16, lives in the USA, and started learning guitar when she was 10 or so.
Most of the songs in her channel seem to be Vietnamese songs.

Yeah just gotta be patient. I really have developed a soft spot for the city. Still cannot believe the archdiocese had my great grandmother’s baptism and her parents wedding from 1877 and 1876. It’s a four-way race for the Alaska Senate seat. Murkowski could be in trouble. In her last run she had to run as a write-in Independent. People are pi$$ed that once elected she quickly switched back to be a Republican. Many thought she should stay as an Independent. She was promised that if she came back to the Party she could maintain her committee chairmanship on the Natural Resources Committee.

Comey is in hot water, within the FBI and the DOJ. Clinton, the Dems, Trump, the GOP all want to know WTF? It seems none of the emails were sent to or received from Clinton, and if anyone else is in hot water, it would be Huma Abedin. I think Comey, Chaffetz, et. al. and the bloviating TV pundits are grossly overestimating the general public’s interest in Hillary’s email crime spree. Always were. As for wingnut outrage, this sort of thing plays well to them, but not to anyone else, and the wingnuts were already on the Trump train. My suspicion is it moves the needle not one damn bit, or possibly even in favour of Mrs. Clinton amongst those (insanely) undecided voters.

Putting thumbs on the scales of an election doesn’t generally play too well with the electorate.

Remember here the demographic groups that are in Mrs. Clinton’s camp by and large:

Young voters
Women
Minorities:
a) African-Americans
b) Asian-Americans (a shift from the GOP)
c) Hispanics (Gov. Brewer’s statement Hispanics don’t vote will bite her)
d) Muslims (Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric
e) Atheists and agnostics (Theocrat Mike Pence for that one)

College educated (they were by-and-large Republicans until this election)
There really aren’t enough middle-aged high school educated male baby boomers like me to swing this for the GOP, and an awful lot of us aren’t in the Trump camp either.

if anyone else is in hot water, it would be Huma Abedin

washingtonpost.com

Top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has told people she is unsure how her emails could have ended up on a device she viewed as her husband’s computer, the seizure of which has reignited the Clinton email investigation, according to a person familiar with the investigation and civil litigation over the matter.

If her emails are there, this will have been a stunning example of incompetence.

In light of the Malheur verdict, I have to ramp up my estimate of post-election violence from the RWNJs. It will still be nothing like a revolution or a large scale insurrection but we are going to see more of it than we otherwise would have. In particular, the chances for some kind of organized violence (with, say, more than 4 people involved) are exponentially higher than they were.

I think it appears that there are more than there actually are because of the Trump surrogates who go to every TV network, repeat lies, and deny reality. Joy Reid interviewed that Trump-supporting pastor from SC this morning, the one who lied about his credentials, got caught, and ran from a TV reporter a few months ago. The topic was birtherism. Reid asked Darrell Scott about Trump’s role in peddling birtherism, and Scott immediately lied by saying it was HRC’s campaign in 2008 that started it. Reid told him that although she respects him as a pastor [she really doesn’t, but she said it anyway to be polite,] she couldn’t permit him to peddle that lie. She set the record straight, wouldn’t permit him to continue to lie, and went to commercial. When she returned, he was GONE.

On the birtherism issue, it would appear the earliest version of it was in 2004 during President Obama’s senatorial campaign, when his opponent cast aspersions on Mr. Obama’s relgion.

From there it expanded on his values, his loyalty, &c across the fever-swamp of conservative Websites.

The earliest version of the specific claim Snopes could find was on Free Republic from February 2008:
www (dot) freerepublic (dot) com/focus/news/1978110/posts?page=391#391

Certain Clinton supporters spread the information not knowing where it came from, but supporters are not the same as campaign. (See: Bernie bros who insist the primary was stolen based on ridiculous claims on Websites, while Senator Sanders conceded and endorsed Secretary Clinton).

Possible sources of post-election violence:
- Mcveigh style lone wolves (Risk: very high, practically 100%)
- Organized para-military militia, eg Oathkeepers (Risk: moderate for small groups, low for general organization)
- Other organized RWNJ groups, eg Wall Builders, local tea party groups (Risk: very high locally, non-existent at national or state level)
Ad hoc fundamentalist church groups, vigilantes etc. (moderate to low risk, but expect some activity)
Sovereign sheriffs and affiliated posses (low probability but potentially the most violent of all)

I suspect there might be some individualised violence (a single wingnut with a gun, for example), but I am not sure that a large scale wingnut terrorist attack like Oklahoma City would happen.

On the other hand, there was the ridiculous Mahleur verdict. While some of those guys are headed to Nevada to stand trial there, the fact they were acquitted despite their own video evidence is not reassuring.

Back when that started, over at Daily Kos I argued they should be treated like armed insurrectionists. I got shouted down.

I am not big on violence, but what they did could reasonably be construed as “making war on the United States.” My argument over at Kos was essentially an overwhelming show of force was needed, especially after the fiasco at Bunkerville, Nevada.

That force did not come. In the last two armed actions against the government, the wingnuts have won both times.

Well, perhaps after Senator Kirk’s treatment of Representative Duckworth at the Illinois Senatorial debate he might reconsider … you never know. I’ve seen people here who I thought would die before pulling the lever for a (D) change over this election, though it might be one thing or another that instigated the change.

English fossil hunter finds a fossilised dinosaur brain (not a conservative):

huffingtonpost.com

While soft-tissue fossils are extremely rare, they do occur under the right conditions, however, a brain seems not to have been previously found.

The article details how he found it, who examined it, and what they discovered.

Jamie Hiscock of East Sussex, England has a knack for spotting incredibly preserved remnants of life.

Five years ago, he and his brother, both fossil enthusiasts, were walking along the beach when they noticed a remarkable piece of amber. When scrutinized in a lab, it turned out to hold the world’s oldest spider web. The siblings have also found fossilized bits of Iguanodon, a roughly 30-foot dinosaur that roamed the earth around 130 million years ago.

So when Hiscock picked up a small, brown doodad in Bexhill, Sussex in 2004, he knew it wasn’t any old rock. But he had no idea it’d be the first example of a fossilized dinosaur brain.

Channeling your inner Palm tonight?

What does this mean? I consulted Urban Dictionary.

a part of your hand which most people dont know is a much better substitute for a fist when your hitting something. The reasons for this is because an open hand is more relaxed and is thus more powerful. It is also safer because the skin on your knuckles can split easily. You also have a smaller chance to break your fingers.

When a person grabs some other persons butt, whether they like it or not. But I don’t mean just grabbing, I mean like grabbing hold and holding it for 3 secs minimum.

An adjective that is used to describe a situation that is unfortunate but still acceptable. ‘Palm’ is a portmanteau word that blends the words ‘peak’ and ‘calm.’ The term originates from the suburbs of North West London.

Enlighten me, please.

No.

You forgot:

- Angry, unhinged loser assholes murdering cashiers at gas stations because they’re brown. Risk: 100%.

It happened after 9/11 and gas stations are the softest backlash target: easily accessible, found in every town, and often run by an immigrant. They’re easy targets for the “pin-dicked angry white male with a handgun” demographic.

Not sure if encouraging.

Despite the announcement of an FBI review of additional e-mails in connection to Hillary Clinton’s private email server as secretary of state, a majority of voters have made up their mind on whether they will vote for the Democratic nominee.

Sixty-three percent of likely voters say the FBI review makes no difference in their vote, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll released Sunday.

Most sane people know the email thing is a big nothingburger that’s been beaten past the point of death for purely political reasons. Comey’s cockamamie letters only make a difference to people who hate Hillary so much they would never vote for her.

Emails are not her problem. Complacency on the part of Democrat voters is the problem. We all need to encourage them not to assume Clinton will win based on polls, betting pools, or Trump’s radioactivity. We need to get her into office with a clear popular majority vote, and ideally with a raft of fellow Dems into lower offices.

I’ve been looking out for campaign signs and bumper stickers in my neighborhood. I have only seen one Johnson/Weld cluster of signs on a corner house. No other signs on citizens’ lawns. One cluster of Clinton/Kaine signs in front of a law office. One other Clinton/Kaine sign in front of a CWA Union Local.

Counting bumper stickers, very rare. I have seen more Obama/Biden bumper stickers from ‘12 than the current election. Saw one Bernie bumper sticker.

Comey’s letter to FBI employees concerning newly discovered email trove:

To all:

This morning I sent a letter to Congress in connection with the Secretary Clinton email investigation. Yesterday, the investigative team briefed me on their recommendation with respect to seeking access to emails that have recently been found in an unrelated case. Because those emails appear to be pertinent to our investigation, I agreed that we should take appropriate steps to obtain and review them.

Of course, we don’t ordinarily tell Congress about ongoing investigations, but here I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed. I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record. At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season, there is significant risk of being misunderstood, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about it.

I just heard excellent discussion on “On the Media” (Brooke Gladstone on NPR) of something I’ve been saying based on what I see in New Hampshire: the myth of the uneducated working-class white Trump supporter. A reporter for the Guardian threw out the baked in stereotypes that much of the media have lazily used to frame Trump’s support and found that by and large his support is from educated white men who earn around $72K/year. In many cases the so-called working-class vote went to Bernie, not Trump.

I should have mentioned in yesterday’s rant about rural NH that rural doesn’t mean impoverished here. It means wealthy people who don’t want to be bothered.

A well-known case of mortuary cannibalism is that of the Fore tribe in New Guinea, which resulted in the spread of the prion disease kuru.[19] Although the Fore’s mortuary cannibalism was well documented, the practice had ceased before the cause of the disease was recognized. However, some scholars argue that although post-mortem dismemberment was the practice during funeral rites, cannibalism was not. Marvin Harris theorizes that it happened during a famine period coincident with the arrival of Europeans and was rationalized as a religious rite.

Yeah.

What I am thinking of is something I read somewhere that said that East Germany banned guest workers from starting families there, lest they be deported.

Guest workers back then were Korean, Vietnamese or Chinese, who came over, lived in barracks and were sent home after their contract expired. That was how guest workers were originally treated in the west, but they started settling there, opening up restaurants raising families and opening businesses.

I read that nearly a million Germans are employed in Turkish-owned businesses alone.

Same in the Czech Republic - there were Vietnamese who came here during the Cold War (“Socialist solidarity” and all that) but generally, Czechs were rarely exposed to foreigners aside from the occasional Russian or East German here or there. Most foreigners tended to live in Prague or Brno, the two biggest cities and they still do.

It’s New Jersey, dude: Christopher The Large may have cratered the Republican brand in-state for now, but it would be a sucker bet not to conclude that the next (Dem) Governor and Lege won’t screw up and alienate the electorate just as badly after their eight years or so in office. That’s just the way it seems to work in NJ: it may be called the Garden State, but it still produces a lot of weeds.

ETA: another bummer is that NJ elects its governors in odd years: we have another year of Christie to kick around.

Well, you know it to listen to some of the teevee talking-heads: Mrs. Jay was freaking out this morning watching the Sunday edition ABC’s Good Morning America - they were parading around the latest ABC/WaPo poll suddenly showing Hillary with only a one-point lead, and George Smarmiopolous was “sagely” opining about the damage to her EV lead — Of course, they also kinda/sorta had to admit that there was a great of nothing in this latest “revelation”, and that Director Comey’s actions were - well, curious, to say the least. Just because I’m a little beyond Indy, extra skeptical shall we say. The common partisan view of Wikileaks reversed this election because of this election. Now on Comey.
With all due respect to long time GOP guy Painter I’m feeling kinda meh on any actual legal violation by Comey. Caveat, pay walled out of the full article. Plus I have not liked him for quite some time.

I feel that he plays surveillance on the public in the crime and long war without nearly enough regard to our privacy. That privacy in the face of big data technology as applied to things like licence plate readers, cell meta data etc. President Obama who has powerfully embraced the latest technology and firepower in order to eschew boots on the ground against terror appointed an ally in that. Nothing wrong with that except when we get to net results. Again, just my opinion. Most of this is in pages I put up over the years.

Shorter-I have a hard time thinking this is the right guy for the job no matter what news comes forth.

Classic Comey era FBI fumble. Warrants are treated as a T to cross not a filter of apropriate acts by the FBI. My bold.

At the time Comey wrote the letter, “he had no idea what was in the content of the emails,” one of the officials said, referring to recently discovered emails that were found on the laptop of disgraced ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Weiner is under investigation for allegedly sending illicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl. “We do not have a warrant,” a senior law enforcement official said. “Discussions are under way [between the FBI and the Justice Department] as to the best way to move forward.”

About trumps real chances via electoral-vote.com

What this really shows us is how meaningless and imprecise such “odds” really are. …

When it comes to projecting the outcome on November 8, there is really only one question: How accurate are the polls? If they are correct (or even close), then Donald Trump’s chances of winning are 0.0%. You cannot beat the odds as many times as he would need to win with numbers like his—it would be tantamount to flipping a coin and having it come up heads something like 60 times in a row. Now, it is certainly possible that the polls are in error, but those errors would largely be the result of factors that have no historical analogue, namely (1) the challenges of polling in a “cell phone world,” and (2) some sort of “Trump” effect, wherein respondents are unwilling to admit their support for The Donald except in a secret ballot. No amount of historical data about Warren Harding or Adlai Stevenson or George McGovern or Jimmy Carter will allow these factors to be corrected for. And that is something you can be 100.0% certain about. (Z)

Beautiful - brought a tear to my eye. I’m from Los Angeles; born there in 1969, in the now-closed L.A. General Hospital (L.A. County/USC Medical Center, or the Great Stone Mother).

The old hometown never looked so nice. Thanks for posting.

Such a beautiful city. I never get to hang around there as long as I’d like to.

It is; granted, it’s not for everybody. A student of mine went there a couple of years ago on business - she had to stay for about two weeks - and she told me she was utterly overwhelmed by everything. In fairness to her, she hails from a small town of about 1,500 people in South Moravia, and Los Angeles was her first trip to the USA.

She loved the food, however. But I’d guess her L.A. adventure must have been one hell of a case of culture shock for her.

That’s what I’m trying to keep saying. For trump to win it would be an unprecedented reverse in so many ways.

He has never led electorally. Not for one day.

For sure. I’m excited to see what she can do . My vote for her is more a vote for her than against Trump and it would be this way if Jeb was the nomine too.

Yeah our populace’s impatience is very annoying. If they had more patience, the GOP wouldn’t have regained the House in 2010.

re: #592 HappyWarrior

Yeah I don’t get that either. People say they approve of what Obama’s doing yet insist the country’s on teh wrong track. Then again, they say they overwhelmingly disapprove of Congress and bring back their Congresspeople at high rates too. Now some of that is due to the Gerrymandering but some of it I can’t put my finger on.

Just because some group is the loudest doesn’t mean it’s correct. One of the first things I learned upon moving to the NYC area is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, regardless of whether it really needs (or deserves) it. If you stand in the corner timidly biting your fingernails, people will run you right the hell over.

What I want to know is, if the candidate AND the people who attend these rallies don’t want the biased press there, why do they KEEP SHOWING UP?

Surely they could just send one pool person there in case something newsworthy happens, and ignore it otherwise. Everybody happy, right?

Not to mention that metric doesn’t take into account that of the people who think the country is on the wrong track their is probably a 50/50 split on what the right track is, and those opinions are diametrically opposed.

There are more than two tracks. Stupid question. If you want to head east, any track not taking you east is the wrong track. If you want to head east at 100MPH, then taking the east 50MPH track is the wrong track. A lot of liberals want the fast track to Equalityville, the slow but sure track is, for them, the wrong track.

“The right track” is a sentimentalized, rose-colored memory of what some mythical America was like, where working-class families could live off of one income, own a house and afford to put their kids through college.

But these people do not recall the strong unions, (relatively) low executive salaries and high income tax rates that were behind those halcyon days…

I’m excited for her to be elected. I think she’s a very qualified and experienced candidate, moderate, imperfect, but hits most marks. I am definitely voting for her and not just against Trump.

But I’m also voting for her because it’s time for a woman to shatter the ultimate glass ceiling. When I talk to my wife and mother, and listen to other women and I hear something there: not quite hope, not quite dreams, or idealism, but something. I’m voting for that.

Yeah, this is looking worse and worse for Comey. His team’s sat on these emails for weeks, yet the moment they told him about them he had to rush to Congress because he feared a “leak” despite the FBI not having the warrants necessary to even view the emails. Scared of a Trump Presidency, and the possibility of the ^&*(*% GOP controlling all three branches of the government (remember George W. Bush?) - THEN DO SOMETHING! DON’T JUST SIT HERE AND POST ON LGF (as much as I love this site) SIGN UP TO TURN OUT THE VOTE:

hillaryclinton.com

You can sign up for any (or all) or four days Nov 5-8.

I live in New Jersey, and I will be volunteering in Pennsylvania, where there is also a close Senate race.

If you are in Northern California, do something about it in Reno.
If you are in Southern California, you can head to Las Vegas.

Spend your weekend doing SOMETHING USEFUL to stop Trump and the GOP!

For what it’s worth, I live in Northern Nevada. I have been “doing something” every day for months. My personal GOTV works by starting early and continuing through election day. I talk with colleagues, family and casual acquaintances about any and all of the candidates. I frame the discussion in a way that will reach each of them individually, by talking about what’s important to them. Most are now solidly for Hillary; a few could not be persuaded.

For those that will not ever vote for Hillary (poisoned by 30 years of faux-scandals), I suggest this may be the perfect year for them to vote 3rd Party. If I can’t get a vote for her, I try to dissuade the vote for “that man”. Completely anecdotal I know, but every little bit helps. I don’t know much about losing due to complacency in the general population, but I personally have not missed voting in any presidential election.
