Romney vs. Reality: The NRA Speech
These web advertisements from the Obama campaign are very effective, juxtaposing clips from Mitt Romney’s latest speeches with statements from President Obama. The message is clear: many of Romney’s points about Obama are simply untrue.
I suspect Romney’s well aware of this. All of his talking points are taken directly from fake outrages that bubbled up from the reality-challenged right wing blogosphere into Fox News and other right wing media; “apologizing for America,” “religious freedom,” “bowing to the Saudis,” etc.
Romney’s not stupid. He knows Obama has never “apologized for America.” But he also knows that the right wing base has been conditioned to not care if he’s dishonest, as long as he’s telling their lies. He’s just saying what he knows the base wants to hear.
