The first Stephen King movie I ever saw was Maximum Overdrive. That put me off Stephen King movies for a long time!

Somebody finally got me to like his movies by showing me "The Shining", but fast-forwarding through the credits, so I wouldn't see King's name.

Now I realize that King has many excellent movies, and he's not just the bad writer that I initially believed. "The Green Mile" is still one of my favorites (Although I've never been able to understand the deal with the constant reference to peeing in Tom Hanks' movies?).

then I got stuck in an airport and all had was a copy of 'The Drawing of the Three' that someone left behind.

Done. From there I had to read The Whole Damn Series and that led to several other of his books.

He can craft a sentence, no doubt about it.

King is the worst movie person of all time. His interference in movies may demonstrate that he is a hack. He writes, others make movies. I frankly do not seem to understand his appeal. After the book, The Shining, he descended into a world of his own and his readers. Truly bad writing, plotting, science, and horror. Speaking of Stand By Me, they removed pretty much all of the trackage on Northern California's McCloud River Railway back in 2007. This was where the scene on the trestle was filmed....

I believe that the steam locomotive used in that scene is in nearby Yreka on the Yreka & Western railway, but the owners have put her up for sale.

4 day work weeks for us military folks, glorious! 10 hours flight time per pilot max! (we usually average 20-25) The North Koreans are beating us right now (and they don't even wear socks). I don't see any change till the new fiscal in oct. Hell, many squadrons are shut down this next month, time to take some vacation. Some east coast squadrons are shut down for 2 months (and maybe more). This is the kind of sh@% we heard about in 91 with Riffs (forced reduction in forces). Hopefully it wont come to that.

Hopey f-n change indeed, 5 Billion to Acorn and the like for "community developement" to register Mickey Mouse and Michael Jordan ten times for a pack of smokes on da streets.

Oh well, I just got back, so I am happy to hang with the fam. The new guys are sucking though, you cant be a trained killer sitting on your ass for months at a time. Nothing to see here, just move along...

Well, I'll put it like this. Way back when, I fucked off half a semester in one class. The final was multiple choice, four answers per question. I had a 25% chance to pass the final.

Out of 125 questions, I actually knew the answers to less than ten, and guessed on the rest. I passed with a C, and "seas git degrees".

/Not proud, but multiple guess tests are what they are...

this needs to be read twice: i remember when i couldn't even get a windshield wiper funded for my Deuce.... then they decided he head gasket was leaking, so it went NMC. the eventual fix about a year later was when they transferred it to another unit, so they could carry it on their books.

/it may never have been fixed.

I think that we are actually in agreement, more or less. Many people are taken in by the hype, but not everybody.

Good wine is still good no matter the price. Bad wine is still for OK for cooking.

1) Cut the military
2) Raise Taxes (this time back door via carbon tax)
3) increase spending and adding to the debt.

1.85 Trillion dollar deficit this year. As of now, we have a n 11.8 Trillion national debt. Servicing on the debt will only decrease the amount of discretionary spending in the future...

2 options; Raise taxes, cut benefits. Guess which one will win?

My bro in law is in Iraq right now (I just left shipboard from the gulf with Iraq and the Gulf of Oman with Afghanistan) and every time we were in port Skype worked great. Ichat works well too if you are both Mac users. I find Ichat does not play well with PC's however. I get to talk to him via Facebook chat or Skype all the time. It is tons better than just 10 years ago with shitty e mail, or even worse snail mail. There are many options out there now to keep in touch on a daily basis. They love it as much as u do, I assure u.

I feel the need to write about this somewhere . . .
There was a friends of palestine rally today and my friend and I went to "suss it out". They were calling people to boycott the supermarket chain IGA because they sold Israeli products, particularly oranges.
btw. I checked out the particular IGA that they were outside spewing their disgusting rhetoric and they only sold Australian grown oranges.

Anyway, the little hamas cheer squad of about a dozen people (one of whom was our agent) were standing ouside handing out leaflets and not causing much trouble to the people around enjoying their lunch and my friend and I sat around for a while to see how things would play out and we were getting ready to leave.

We then decided to take some pictures of them. They saw this and we lied and said we were tourists from Melbourne but we had been hanging around for a while and they knew what we were doing there.

One bloke had a video camera and came up to us with the camera rolling and demanded an apology for taking a photo of them without asking.
I mean, for fuck's sake, THEY WERE PROTESTERS! They wanted to be seen. Anyway, it's not a crime to take a photo of anyone in public. This guy pestered us demanding that we justify ourselves as Jews for "Israel's crimes". He then went on a rant about how Israel is slaughtering palestinians. Note: I am 18. I went to a Jewish school and led a sheltered life in the Jewish community in Perth. I wanted to say something but i didn't know what to say. It would have been better to keep walking but the temptation was too great. My friend spoke up. He knew people who had been victims of terrorism. There was a heated argument between the two. The man with the camera then descended into a tirade about how Judaism is a disgusting religion, how he has read the Talmud and the Tanach and how it says that all the Gentiles deserve to die blah blah blah. How Jews are racist murderers who only care about themselves. He went on for about 10 minutes on this same line. Security asked us to move on so we did. It was just so tempting to stay. People were looking on while this dickhead was screaming anti-semetic bullshit i have heard before from jew watch ie. that 40 million Christians were killed in Russia by the Jews and that all Jews are racist fanatics hell bent on murder.

My friend, stan, tried to shut his camera and got hit in the face. People were looking on at us. The guy told us his name: brendan o'connor. apparently he has a blog.

AUJS (Australian Union of Jewish Students) attended a palestinian land day thing once on campus to suss them out and they held back from declaring their anti-semetic attitudes, pretending to care more about the plight of the palestinians. But this guy let the veil drop. In front of everyone there (to whom we probs looked a bit stupid to as well, seeing as the smart thing to do would have been to walk away) he unleashed all these millenia old conspiracy theories and blood libels against they jews. He claimed that they had broken into his house, been tracking his phone, monitoring his blog. He revealed the true intentions of this little terrorist support squad.

And that is the crux of the matter.
If it were not so far into the EMDT (where's LoL with fruitcup, by the by. I have doughnuts and coffee. Get you're own Baily's) I'd try to make a parallel between the 'radical' spread of Christianity, which pretty much ended in the 17th century and the spread of Islam by the sword - which hasn't stopped yet.

Again, one of the really, really, basic things to remember about western civilization is that we bend well - we do not break, and the snap back can be painful.

I think I agree with you. As I posted at #104 the "call to action" was ominous. I also agree it has Nazi overtones. I accept changing demographics as inevitable (I don't like it) but I hope we can preserve western civ without war. If the west becomes ruled by sharia, we are all lost.

I am still troubled by this video, linked on this thread.

In an era of recent past, similar propaganda was focused on a different group for certain devastating ends.

Charles has drawn attention to growing fascist movements, here and abroad, and for good reason. We would all be wise to be wary of those elements.

I should also add that the video is supposedly a Christian evangelistic video. The idea, and this was proposed some time ago among Protestant US evangelical groups, is that there was an urgent need to evangelize Islamic countries. I remember that there were specific groups (I can't remember exactly, perhaps I should do some research on the net to remind me) that had outlined a part of the globe, bounded by certain latitudes, which were the most Moslem in population. Those were to be the targets.

Now this effort seems to have morphed into a more defensive one.

It is the western style constitutional separation of church and state and constitutional protections afforded to individual rights, not democracy, which is inconsistent with Islamic (Sharia) law. We have examples in Iran and Gaza of how democracy alone, without an underlying functional constitution, is no guarantee of good government.

Absolutely! But only if they are able to clearly see the difference. This is why it is critically important to have nothing to do with the crypto-fascists and neo-fascists, especially as they come out of the closet, when they are most likely to take some previously reasonable followers with them.
Why fight for one form of oppression, when you can have another form with no fight? This is the question posed to people who have an opportunity to join us, but who see hateful souls like Geller masquerading as the mainstream right.

Our friends on the Muslim side of the fence (if there is a fence) will win this fight in a way that we cannot, but only if our friendship is genuine, and widespread.

My understanding from reading a couple of books on Afghanistan is that they were relatively progressed for that region before the taliban took over- at least in the cities. They had decent schools that both sexes were allowed to attend, including university. So they do have a history of a more progressive society then just being a 3 world hell hole.

Same is true in Iraq, where despite his evil rule, Saddam promoted public education. The Iraqis overall are better educated than some of their neighbors.

I think both countries can beat the odds and make a better future for themselves, but not if we fail to support their fledgling democracies.

Not necessarily.
If a majority of the electorate votes for Sharia law, that is a democratic result. But it is a result which is antithetical to our constitutional guarantee of separation of church and state.

In an Islamic Republic, you have a constitutional guarantee that Sharia law trumps democratically enacted legislation. This is the exact opposite of the US constitutional separation of church and state.

Democracy alone, without constitutional guarantees that religious beliefs cannot be passed into law, is simply not good enough.

I am still surprised whenever I read books and see pictures about how it used to be over here. As I understand it, the society was fairly well split between urban and rural communities who had little in common day to day, but whose shared cultures (plural) and history united them even while the "tribal" affiliations usually dictated much that remains transparent to us, even to this day. What looks very old to us here is not old--the brutal repression is new.
Strains of it go wa-a-ay back, but they have a more visible version of a problem that we in the west also have--our war against Marxism has left a force of anti-Americans who are adapting the tactics and strategies (from Beria to Gramsci) of the old totalitarians to the flexibility of insurgency.
They can get organized and dis-organized, as necessary, up and down the spectrum from local intimidation to worldwide subversion, in a way that we cannot. This warfare will continue to be highly asymmetric; it will never become a war fought in a conventional way, although that *component* will be brought to bear from time to time. But it will be battles, not the war.
The Counterinsurgency Manual is a fantastic book. I'm no expert, but I continue to learn from everybody I can talk to about this, and it seems to me that the most important aspect available to local commanders is to make risk decisions appropriate to the mission, which would be *inappropriate* in conventional fighting.
More on this later.
Meanwhile, we could all do well to understand the so-called tribal relationships over here. I confess that it is largely a mystery to me, and I believe that even most Afghans will debate the connections, much the same way that we debate politics, because over here, that is a huge component of politics.
I'm still not sure how it even fits in, on a daily, tactical, operational, strategic, or global level in the society. Even the vocabulary I'm using isn't particularly well-suited to the task at hand--another problem.
For now, I'd be happy just to get people to recognize our own shortcomings in comprehension.
This is not so that we can "see everything clearly and get done exactly what we want", which cannot be done, but rather, so that when we speak to Afghans, we have some clue who we are tlalking to. Many of the folks here are quite good at this, and understand pretty well. Of course, that is not a universal trait, and it doesn't have to be--I don't know how the milkman votes, but I know how he delivers milk.
Even defining the problems is frustrating. I try to take it one piece at a time. It's going so-so.
But the relationships I have here are a source of hope and an inspiration to me to spread the good news about Afghanistan. THere's plenty of bad news, and I don;t want to snow anybody. But the fact is that there is a lot going right here, even if as some say, things are getting worse. We are not evacuating the last choppers from Saigon; we are learning the same way we did in Iraq, but it's taking some time.
Realistic people have always admitted that it will take a long time, and I share the fear that American willpower will give out. I guess that my "plot summary" would read that we definitely can succeed, and it remains to be seen whether we actually will.

It's cultural, not racial, as Islam is not a religion. If we assume Muslims of European descent and Christians of Middle-Eastern descent, then what is passed down *in common* through these groups is tradition,or culture, but not race.

Actually, I need to clarify this. The left are the folks complaining that our Republic isn't set up right, and should become a Democracy. I view this as definitional. At the same time, they are the ones who live in fear that a Christian theocracy is just around the corner whenever a Republican walks by. You would think that they would understand the connection.

When you get the time, you should read Thomas Sowell's A Conflict of Visions. The left-right dichotomy isn't a good indicator of political philosophy. While the left tends towards one vision, there are some on the right that hold to that vision, just with different end results in mind. Conversely, there are some on the left who agree more with the opposite vision- one that protects the system and allows society to evolve naturally based on traditions and customs working within an established framework. You have a good grasp on civics- I think this book will make a lot of sense to you, and you'll see politics in a whole new light.

I suppose there are those on the left who may oppose parts of the Constitution.
Unfortunately however, there are elements of the religious right which advocate for legislative imposition of what are essentially religious values. These elements have more in common with advocates of Sharia than they may care to admit.

To me, the big contradiction of the left os that while they go on about "Democracy Now!" and so forth, a Democracy is actually even farther fromo what they create than it is from a Republic. To oversimplify Democracy, every citizen votes on whether to fix each pothole. To oversimplify a Republic, small groups vote on whether to fix small groups of potholes. But what the Democrats consistently come up with, due to the unworkability of true Democracy in large groups, is instead ( to oversimplify) a single person who adjudicates to disposition of each pothole.
So while they song they play is Democracy, they march toward Dictatorship.

Obama's first 100 days from a black's perspective

Remember the Soup Nazi on the Seinfeld sitcom? If you annoyed the chef, he would yell, "No soup for you!" When I hear the mindless reasoning of Obama supporters, I want to scream, "NO VOTE FOR YOU!"

All of our spending as a nation up until this point in time is dwarfed by Obama's spending in only 100 days. And yet, he promises fiscal responsibility. Our great grand kids will be paying his debt. Various areas of private sector freedoms are being infringed upon as Obama boldly goes where government has never trespassed before. My goodness, he fired the CEO of a private company, GM, and nobody cares. Such government overreaching should scare the 'bee-gee-bas' out of you.

And yet, I realize those embittered with 'class envy' love Obama's power grab and redistribution plans. Manipulative politicians have suckered you into believing that you have little because others have too much. What a tragic, dis-empowering and repulsive mindset. Losers. Losers. Losers. Winners think completely the opposite. America is the greatest nation on the planet with opportunity for ALL who are willing to GO FOR IT!

Now, let's talk national defense. In a nutshell, Obama wants to make 'nice-nice' with those who want us dead. Believing his own fawning press, Obama thinks the power of his charisma will transform evil megalomaniacs and religious zealots into allies. How arrogant, narcissistic, and scary is that? Mr President, what part of "we will kill ALL (infidels) who do not embrace our religion" do you not understand?

And another thing, despite my flaws, my wonderful wife thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread. Is it too much to ask that our president feel such pride and affection for his country? Obama is constantly trashing our way of life and referencing policies abroad as the lead we should follow.

I realize this is after the fact, but what the heck were you Christians thinking? You voted for a guy who voted to let babies die that survive abortions. Sadly, I believe it all comes down to two mindless emotional things. Obama is black and his speeches make you feel good.

While I am ranting, if one more conservative congratulates me because we have our first black president, I am going to slap them. Well, not physically, but in my brain. In essence, they're saying, "Obama is wrecking our country, but you should be proud, Lloyd, because he is black like you." Lord, help us!

Unfortunately however, there are elements of the religious right which advocate for legislative imposition of what are essentially religious values. These elements have more in common with advocates of Sharia than they may care to admit.

It's a demographics "analysis" of sorts, essentially warning that Moslems are breeding like rabbits and the western culture is doomed.

Similar charges have been leveled against all sorts of groups on the "out" over the years - Catholics, Mexicans and blacks, within my own memory.

It's a fundamentally derogatory accusation that attempts, as in your own summary, to lower a group to the level of animals and thereby make them less than human.

Why is this seen as somehow worse than non-religious values? Especially when you look at how the Soviets enforced their explicitously non-religious values. Or, closer to home, those who would simply ignore entire articles of the Bill of Rights simply because they don't like the Right detailed therin?

I feel that it is not worse, but that the problem is with the imposition of any values which are not a part of our charter, the Constitution. The government should not be in the business of pushing any values except for those which it is necessary and reasonable for the government to make its concern, and which the people have consented to get the government involved in at all.
Valuing life is not some miraculous universal constant--it is a value which we have decided that it is well and good for the government to take on. I would be happy to see the government out of the marriage business altogether, except that it is already so taxably, legally, punitively involved, that we cannot now simply stop being concerned. For this reason, I support a States-Rights approach to marriage definition, through a prohibition on Federal rulings on the matter. This is in the category of stopping further inivolvement, but it only works if we can also undo earlier involvement. Leaving the ecumenical aspects to the churches, I would favor something even *less* endorsing than "civil unions", and fortunately we already have a well-developed body of law and precedent: Corporate Law.
I would have no problem with the Feds allowing two gay men to simply incorporate as a business, indeed a limited partnership, same as any other group of people can. Heck, all Federal involvement could move that way.
It's not perfect, and many avenues of abuse are open, but these could probably be dealt with if it is done as a completely indifferent set of transactions, as far as the Feds are concerned.

I'm certainly open to hearing how this is a dumb idea--I haven't given this potential course of action much thought, although the problem has bothered me (and about 200 million other people) for years.

I view the issue as one of finding the right place on a continuum of basic societal values vs. strictly religious values.

For example it is debatable whether prohibitions against killing derive from religious or secular values, but noone could challenge the criminal law against murder on the basis of the separation of church and state.

May 2 (Bloomberg) -- Chrysler LLC’s secured lenders included Yale University, Oaktree Capital Management and assets managed for the University of Kentucky, Halliburton Co., Kraft Foods Master Retirement and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a court filing in the carmaker’s bankruptcy shows.

Chrysler, the nation’s third-largest automaker, filed for Chapter 11 protection after a group of 20 Chrysler secured lenders calling itself the “Committee of Chrysler Non-Tarp Lenders” rejected an offer by the government that would have paid them $2.25 billion on $6.9 billion of debt, or 33 cents on the dollar.

The government plans to ask the bankruptcy judge to let it pay the creditors in that group $2 billion, or 29 cents on the dollar, to end their claims.

But several of the secutred lenders decided to take the deal anyway. Why/ Well one of the bankruptcy attorneys, Tom Lauria offers this answer - direct threat and intimidation by the White House:

During the interview, Lauria says that one of his clients was threatened by the White House to either accept the deal or else be attacked by the White House press corps.

In some ways we still suffer from that.

This was a really great cutting edge script..The dude who is a pampered superstar athlete starts to fall in love with a Hispanic maid who is a single mother..Very enjoyable script..Cutting edge for 1986..Sound like a movie J-Lo tried to pull off? Hey J-Lo! you can't act..But you are cute..
So anyway good movie...and yes they get together in the end so it is a romantic drama.. one little problem...And I believe why this movie will always be a 2 star instead of a 3 1/2 to 4 star movie.
The main actor..The superstar Hockey player is no other than Micheal Keaton..Talk about a mis-casting..Big time...Pretty boy never once convinced me he was a hockey player...Just because the producers thought they could have him play a hockey player I'm down grading a sports movie down to 1 star...

Note for the dense: I am not comparing Andrew Sullivan to Yasser Arafat (although I suppose that to the left, that would be an insult to Arafat, huh?), just something in the refusal to accept an improvement in one's position because it does not also wound the other party.

If the government gets out of the straight marriage business, then it is also conveniently out of the gay marriage business. Let's draw a line between what churches do and what the government must recognize. You can be church married all you want, but if you want legal benefits and encumbrabces, then incorporate under a separate, government-concerned set of laws. Or you can simply incorporate, and not be married in the eyes of the Lord, as they say. You will always find an institute of religion which is seasoned to your taste with the presence or absence of actual religion.
It seems to me that the biggest legitimate problem is the full faith clause, by which a couple married in one state should certainly enjoy the legal benefits of marriage in another. The less the goverenment has to do with the whole thing, the less this is a problem.
I won't hold out for ideologically perfect, mind-bendingly simple, elegant one-size fits all solution to this, but would rather see a pretty good solution which requires some tweaking along the way. It would certainly be better than what we have now, and would allow conservatism *and* progressivism to get their boundaries a little better-defined. Theres an odd spiral at the four-courners border of federalism, centralilsm, conservatism, and progressivism, which is mind-bending enough on its own. Voters and legislators alike often get lost in there and come out the wrong door.

Now overlay that with the reality of Obama's massive deficits (and budget assumption of a GDP growing at 4% annually), and the punishment of high income people via jumping the income and capital gains tax rates.

The numbers just don't work.

It seems that the threat of that kind of negative coverage is enough to make most people toe the line.

That, or there ARE lawsuits going forward and the media is very carefully not mentioning those legal actions.

The question is... and the answer will become evident over the next three years... how much will the grassroots (poll workers) Republicans, a majority of which (in many states) may fall into the same ideological camp as those in OK who wrote their platform(s), try to push the elites in the GOP to conform to the more populist (and likely religious) views, versus the often elitist positions espoused by those who are the senior Washington types.

I will be gone most of next week playing at a music festival in Cumberland Gap. Can't wait.

Oh, excellent! Yes, I know the bookstore, and that seems like a nice little side business. I was there a few weeks ago with a friend and happened to be there during some author's gig, but I don't recall hearing any music that day. Otherwise, I would have find out! :D

That is true, but the "defendant" in a case involving those "whacked opinions" always has the hammer that "even though judge such and such wrote that in the dissenting opinion, the COURT ruled otherwise. So it's a double edge sword to use a losing argument as a basis for a lawsuit

Good morning. I read this morning that the judge in the AIPAC case imposed the burden on the prosecution that they had to prove intent to harm the U.S.
This seems like an unreasonable burden & that reckless disregard should have been enough, kind of like running a red light not meaning to hit a predestrian, but ignoring the possibility.
I wonder why the government didn't try to venue away from that judge?

Yes this is the spying case. I have never heard of the standard of proof being imposed before. It goes to the state of mind of the defendants, which is a tough row to hoe.

I don't but this is getting out of hand. I don't want parts supplies for the tanker fleet depended on the Euros.

They changed the specs after Boeing submitted, and have been yanking this process around for years.

Any time now we're going start losing -135's from fatigue issues. If that starts happening I hope Congressional malfeasance is listed as the primary cause.

We should have had new tankers 10 years ago.

Congress needs to pull it's head out and order some damn planes, or people are going start dying

'Racist' made mosque bomb threat

He telephoned and emailed Strathclyde Police to make the threats from a flat in Glasgow, between 30 January and 15 February 2007.

The court heard that the email read: "I'm a proud racist and National Front member.

"We as an organisation have decided to deal with the current threat from Muslims in our own British way, like our proud ancestors.

I did pick one of the slower Roadrunners. :) It was a six pack 440, but the hemi's run in the mid 12's on street tires, and would blow the doors off our fastest Studebaker that runs in the high 12's.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Joe Wineke issued a statement Friday slamming the GOP as being in disarray.

"Democrats continue to welcome new members into the party, including people of all religious and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations and political leanings," Wineke said. "Meanwhile, the Republicans are becoming nothing more than an ultra-conservative, right-wing fringe party."

Steele contended Democrats want to decide too much for people, trying to control families, businesses and children's education.

He called the president "Uncle Obama," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., "Nanny Pelosi" and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., "Grinch Reid."

"How can our nation sustain the level of spending this president has undertaken in 100 days?" Steele said.

The crowd erupted in another round of applause.

In an interview with reporters before his speech, Steele acknowledged the Bush administration was the first to start spending on stimulus payments. He called that a "mistake in leadership."

I sent him one of Charles threads about the Texas Creationsists/School boards (well a quick summary and a link) and he said pretty much to me what he said in the quote from the Chicago Tribune - We have to own up to our responsibilities for financial irresponsibility and need to stop being one issue voters.

The lines are from the movie, screenplay by Raynold Gideon, so Raynold Gideon probably added those lines to the story. It's done all the time.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) – a US government-funded agency created to monitor the status of freedom of thought, conscience and religion – released its annual report on Friday, listing Pakistan as a ‘country of particular concern’ (CPC).

Countries are placed on the report’s list because their governments either discriminate against people for religious reasons or are unwilling or unable to stop religious violence by their citizens.

Pakistan joined Iran, Iraq, China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Vietnam, amongst others, as being the worst violators of religious freedoms.

Just curious. I'm not interested in wearing one, doesn't go with my bowler hat, or my Indiana Jones hat.

No operation, check up in September - but its not brilliant.
Waiting for the allergy consultant - and am thinking about perhaps also seeing him privately.

ROTFL! No I've developed an admittedly limited e-mail relationship with Michael Steele and have to say he's REALLY FOCUSED on the 2010 elections. I sent him one of Charles threads about the Texas Creationsists/School boards (well a quick summary and a link) and he said pretty much to me what he said in the quote from the Chicago Tribune - We have to own up to our responsibilities for financial irresponsibility and need to stop being one issue voters.
Course, we've only exchanged about 4 e-mails, one of which was a form e-mail response from him, but I think he really does understand what's going on with the GOP and how much we need to get back to INDIVIDUAL resposibility, stop most forms of corporate welfare and basically go smaller governments are better than bigger governments route( the pural on governments was cause I was bitching and moaning - politely! - about whatever the Fed deosn't take away from us the States tend to take away and that is certainly true in the matter of individual rights and liberty).


That's great to hear. Is there a direct email address that he can be reached at? I like Steele and I am a right of center Independent with a pretty good understanding of the issues that might peel off some of my friends and family who vote Democratic by habit.

General folk opinion here is that its all blown up out of proportion by the media, seeing that more people die of ordinary seasonal flu.
