Pamela Geller Supports Yet Another Fascist Group

Wingnuts • Views: 13,536

Here’s popular right wing blogger (and writer for Newsmax, World Net Daily, and Andrew Breitbart’s websites) Pamela “Shrieking Harpy” Geller, expressing her unqualified support for antisemites, Holocaust deniers, and extreme right wing European fascist groups again — because they hate Muslims as much as she does: Hundreds attend Paris sausage, Wine fest Despite the Ban for Fear of Offending Muslims.

Although the numbers are considerably less than what was hoped for, perhaps some of those patriotic French who would have turned up may have put historical animosities aside for the evening in the hope of seeing Algeria trounced by England in the World Cup. Alas, this was not to be, with England managing a dull and lacklustre 0-0 draw.

This apero geant saucisson et pinard event passed off peacefully. Although Sylvie François was the woman who originated the idea and generated a significant following on Facebook, it was also supported by a considerable range of French patriotic and secular groups and bloggers listed below (information taken from Bloc Identitaire website)

They hate Muslims, and that’s really the only thing Geller cares about, but if she had bothered to investigate the “Bloc Identitaire” she would have discovered that it’s composed of members of the neo-Nazi National Front and other extreme right wing French groups.

The Bloc Identitaire is a French far right political group. It was founded in 2003 by some former members of Unité Radicale and several other far right sympathizers, including Fabrice Robert, former Unité Radicale member, former elected representative of the National Front (FN) and also former member of the National Republican Movement (MNR), and Guillaume Luyt, former member of the monarchist Action française, former Unité Radicale member, former director of the youth organization of the FN (FNJ). Luyt claims inspiration by Guillaume Faye’s works in the Nouvelle Droite movement.

Bloc Identitaire is an ethnic nationalist French version of the KKK; they’re opposed to race-mixing, they hate Americans as much as they hate Jews and Muslims, and they’re allied with another one of Geller’s fascist associates, the Belgian Vlaams Belang.

The Bloc Identitaire aims to be a “rally for young French and Europeans who are proud of their roots and of their heritage”. It opposes miscegenation and “imperialism, whether it be American or islamic”.

The Bloc identitaire has been accused of intentionally distributing several popular soups containing pork in order to exclude religious Jews or Muslims; in Strasbourg, Nice, Paris, and in Antwerp with the association Antwerpse Solidariteit close to the Vlaams Belang.

Pamela Geller has never met a fascist hate group she wouldn’t support.

These “pork parties” are a long tradition on the French far right; back in the day they were targeted against Jews by the very same groups and people. And they’re still targeted against Jews as well as Muslims, but some of the fascists have learned that there are useful idiots like Geller out there who will believe their denials and help promote their hatred.

It’s old-style European racial/ethnic nastiness. Deliberate mean-spirited provocation. That’s what Pamela Geller is working hard to bring to America.

Nothing she does can surprise me. I can still be surprised at how many people are willing to be associated with her, like Andrew McCarthy and John Bolton. Says more bad about them than it does good about her.

The wingnuts who hate Charles the most are the ones who love Geller the most. They blame him for making her look bad. We may even see another meltdown later in this thread.

1. Rooting for England against Algeria? Isn't it polite to root for a former colony against a traditional enemy? (OK, I know they had some serious Algeria problems, but hell, it's ENGLAND.)

2. What does it mean to 'distribute popular soups containing pork'? Do they have soup kitchens, or soup festivals, or what?

3. Pam, you know how you like to tell people like me that we're only being nice to Muslims in the hopes that they'll kill us last? These folks won't kill you and me last. We're number two on the list, and only because they're more scared of the Muslims than they are of us.

They hate imperialism but are proud of their French (imperial) heritage?

And why are there so many Algerian Muslims in France? Might have something to do with it once being a French colony...

I believe they might refer to this as Le disconuité cognitifs

Mais oui.

Significantly, this kind of focus on pork-eating as some sort of cultural loyalty test has deep, deep roots in Europe. The Inquisition used to pick people up on charges of using olive oil in dishes, because that was a Jewish thing.

Absolutely. This is a disgusting tactic that has long been used by European antisemites. They just switched it over to the Muslims, and useful idiots like Geller fall right in line to support it.

Not uncommon. Certain Brits are still bitched that people keep showing up from India. It's like, 'hey, yes, we took you over when it was fun and profitable, but can't we just sever the relationship now that it's no longer so much to our benefit?'

If by 'soup kitchen' they mean offering food to the poor, the other half of my historical memory has just dinged. In Ireland, at various periods, and during the Famine especially, some Protestant charities would offer food in exchange for attending Protestant services.

The French actually fought bravely for the most part. But once the Germans had cut off their best formations in 1940, they had already lost the campaign. They fell not to cowardice, but to superior German organization, strategy, tactics, and leadership.

From Wikipedia:
Marranos or 'secret Jews' were Sephardic Jews, or Jewish people living in the Iberian peninsula, forced to convert to Catholicism-Christianity or be expelled from the Kingdoms of Castile and Aragon (Spain). This designation officially began in 1492 with the Castilian Alhambra Decree, reversing protections in the Treaty of Granada (1491), and used for conversos, or ' confirmed converts', at first. However, soon Marranos was used for people that continued to practice Judaism secretly, crypto-Jews preserving their Jewish identity, 'the secret Jews' or judíos escondidos (in Hebrew Anusim).

Marrano in 15th century Spanish first meant pig, from the ritual prohibition against eating pork, practiced by both Jews and Muslims. During the Spanish Inquisition Marrano acquired the pejorative meanings: "filthy-pig" (sucio); swine (sin escrúpulos); and "filthy-dirty". In contemporary Spanish the word is no longer associated with Jews. In contemporary Portuguese the word refers only to crypto-Jews, with marrão meaning the animal pig or swine.

Apparently, a test of whether someone was a true Christian was to offer them a bite of morcilla, or pork blood sausage (i.e a doubly taboo foodstuff). If they refused, they were arrested. Some Jews, who had feigned their conversion, actually took to creating fake kosher morcillas, which they stained red with paprika and other edible dyes.

During the Inquisition, suspicion would often fall upon those discovered cooking adafina, a rich stew of chicken and chickpeas, which, due to its damningly long, slow cooking time was traditionally consumed by Sephardic Jews over the Sabbath. So, another test of newly-found, purported Christian belief was the insitence that pork or pork fat was added to the adafina. If a Christian neighbour saw that the adafina contained no pork, the chef could suffer dire consequences.

Answer to 2: Yes, there is a tradition of outdoor soup kitchens for the poor and/or homeless in Paris. These people were 'piggybacking' on the idea to make a political statement.

My comments criticizing CPAC for inviting a radical gay rights group, GOPROUD, to serve as a sponsor of this year's conference, and criticizing Salem Communications for turning the Hot Air blog into a forum for advancing the homosexual agenda, has stirred up a bit of dust storm in the blogosphere.

Hot Air responded, in an oxymoronically-entitled piece, "In defense of gay conservatives", defending its decision to allow aggressive advocates of special rights for homosexuals to use its Christian-owned space to push their cause, and taking issue with me along the way.

I've been a long-time poster on LGF and am disturbed by the fact that we have an honour killing in Canada and the MSM plays it as male violence against women rather than a young girl's failure to submit to her father's orders to wear a hijab and not socialize with friends (Aqsa Parvez).

As well, people are afraid to question so-called mainstream Islamic groups like the Canadian Islamic Congress' outright support of terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah for fear of offending sensibilities. This group, for example, speaks of Islamic values of peace and fellowship while at the same time promoting Hamas and Hezbollah, two genocidal anti-semitic groups. If Hamas and Hezbollah represent what Islam is about, then how wrong is Spencer? He's wrong because I know Ismaili Muslims and Ahamadi Muslims who are the most peaceful people I know. Interestingly, they are fans of Israel and don't buy into this Radical Islamic/Hard Left/Hard Right convergence against Israel.

How many in the MSM have asked members of CAIR, ISNA or in Canada the Canadian Islamic Congress how they advocate that Muslims seek peace and that it is non-violent while at the same time these organizations advocate for groups like Hamas. One only need to put the Hamas charter in front of them and ask them how this reconciles with a religion of peace. It is well past due for the paid Saudi funded hacks be put on the hot seat. They've been driving the agenda of the North American Muslim community for too long.

From that standpoint, how legal is all this?

It's likely not criticism of Islam per se but criticism of those who claim to represent Muslims, such as CAIR, and the Canadian Islamic Congress who advocate on behalf of Hamas and Hezbollah. If they advocate on behalf of these terrorist organizations whose ideology is rooted in a hateful, genocidal version of Islam, how can they claim to be promoting a peaceful religion. As I noted, Ismaili and Ahamdi Muslims live a peaceful version of Islam.

Skinheads Seized in Paris

PARIS, May 10— The police arrested five people today in the drowning of a Moroccan during a May 1 march by the extreme-right National Front, which opposes immigration.

The police made the arrests after receiving a tip from an influential security official within the National Front, officials said.

The arrests were the first connection between the party and the death of the Moroccan, Brahim Bouarrem, 29, who was drowned in the Seine by skinheads said to have been taking part in the National Front march across Paris. The incident triggered new animosity toward the party, which has been accused of racism.

Because 'Conservative' humour targets an audience that takes themselves very, very seriously, and defines themselves by who they hate. Furthermore, this audience considers the targets of their barbs to be not just of comedic value, but actually evil and subhuman, possessed of no redeeming qualities. This leads to a pretty twisted version of humour, schoolyard bullying at best, and more often than not just vindictive and mean-spirited. It targets the mindset that thinks that comparing Michelle Obama to Worf is hilarious, and would never, ever consider laughing at themselves, because that's what the enemy does.

AFAIK, private social clubs in the US are permitted to be much more discriminatory than businesses.

For example, someone wants to form a Breast Cancer Awareness Bridge Club sans men, i don't think it's a problem stateside.

I am glad that people on LGF rightfully trash Carter and Chomsky but if your read the Toronto Star or Globe and Mail, you'd think that these cretins were somewhat respectable. I don't have a problem with Glick being criticized - I don't know if I totally agree with the criticism but that is what having an open political forum is all about. Not uncommon. Certain Brits are still bitched that people keep showing up from India. It's like, 'hey, yes, we took you over when it was fun and profitable, but can't we just sever the relationship now that it's no longer so much to our benefit?'

Those relations turn out to be enduring. At one point or another, American troops occupied or liberated Mexico, the Philippines, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq. There are now fairly large communities of people in America who trace their roots to all those places.

The claim that atheism is faith based--I guess it could be for someone--is mostly just a deflection to atheist claims that religion is harmful and not benign. It is an attempt to equate faith without evidence that is the basis of religion with the atheistis view that only propositions with evidence should have credibility.

There is no right or wrong with parables. They're simply stories. Whether or not you believe in Jesus (I sure as hell don't), you can't dismiss the parables themselves out of hand. Ehrman is right down the road from me, in Chapel Hill. He is at best controversial here- at best.

Like most bible critics, he derives what wants from religious scripture and makes his case based on criticism. Fair enough, but certainly not gospel.

His work is akin to criticizing Mother Teresa because she was at times referred to as Mother Theresa or simply 'sister' Teresa or 'sister' Theresa...

Yeah, Schumer is an old timer of course. We couldn't remove corporations from government because they too represent the American experience. There has to be a balance and if wanted to look into this I'm sure the answer would lie somewhere in the middle.

As watchdog for instance, the MMS would have to be staffed with people with industry experience. Otherwise, they would be hiring people with no knowledge of the industry which would be counter productive in the long run since they wouldn't know what to look for.

If anything we need to get rid of the nepotism and favoritism but that's wishful thinking since that would go against human behavior. Cleaning out some of the overwhelming corporate interests sounds like a good idea but on a legislative level those same corporate interests are represented within their own legislative constituencies. No legislator is going to turn a blind eye to Lockheed-Martin, for example, if they're located in their district.

We're also looking at a rather entrenched civil service culture in the regulatory agencies. These work well outside political and/or democratic influence.

OK, I would understand the parables as stories told as teaching tools. I don't know why Jefferson would have dismissed them, since they are not miraculous, which was one of his major gripes with Biblical text, and reflect much of the core of Jesus' teaching, which he appreciated.

Why should a Christian not have disdain for creationism? Creationism, taken to the kind of anti-scientific extremes that it has been of late, is not good for Christianity.

Please. You go where you go, I go where I am going. Just as you are sure there is nowhere to go, I am sure there is more. You want scientific proof of something beyond science. It is called faith and experiential knowledge.

The same experiential knowledge that convinced us the world was flat, the sun revolved around the earth, and a god created all living things in one week a few thousand years ago?

OK, I would understand the parables as stories told as teaching tools. I don't know why Jefferson would have dismissed them, since they are not miraculous, which was one of his major gripes with Biblical text, and reflect much of the core of Jesus' teaching, which he appreciated.

Why should a Christian not have disdain for creationism? Creationism, taken to the kind of anti-scientific extremes that it has been of late, is not good for Christianity.

You've just committed a "use mention error" by mixing belief in the veracity of the stories of faith with belief in "the stories". For example, an atheist can believe in the "concept" of a god, but not believe in a god.

Sure, I believe in the parables too, but I don't think they are true.

As long as parables are simply stories and not monikers of the tenets of faith, then why don't we all pray to Beowulf for saving us from Grendel?

The parables were never meant to be other than stories. Jesus doesn't say 'this really happened just the other day', although some of them might have, he says "this is what the Kingdom of God is like".

I would classify the entire books of the bible as parables themselves. There may be a little history mixed in--as there is arguably in the story of Beowulf--but they are mostly just stories. To be a Christian, however, you have to believe in some form of truth contained in those books--metaphorical, symbolic, or worst of all literal.

I like the story told by Hitchens of the lead scientist--and religious man--who spearheaded the governments efforts at cataloging the human genome. The scientist wrote that he saw a waterfall with three streams frozen into ice in space. The scientist then wrote in his book that he claimed that was the moment he found god.

Hitchens retort was somthing to the effect of, " Well if it had been two and not a trinity, then what. You would have had some other faith?"

Coincidences happen in one's life. Coincidences do not prove there is a god.

re: #462 BryanS

I like the story told by Hitchens of the lead scientist--and religious man--who spearheaded the governments efforts at cataloging the human genome. The scientist wrote that he saw a waterfall with three streams frozen into ice in space. The scientist then wrote in his book that he claimed that was the moment he found god.

Hitchens retort was somthing to the effect of, " Well if it had been two and not a trinity, then what. You would have had some other faith?"

Coincidences happen in one's life. Coincidences do not prove there is a god.

Bryan it is not about proving. That is a human, egoistic undertaking, It's about knowing there is a God. That is the most human and least egoistic affirmation.

Your question assumes first that there must be a first cause. If there was a first cause and that was a god, then who caused the god? If you assert nothing is needed to be a first cause for god, then you've just asserted there is no need for a first cause.

More importantly, there is at least a theory that the big bang really was something out of nothing--that there were equal amounts of energy and dark energy, that quantum effects allow the creation of matter out of nothing due to there being no zero point in energy. The theories are beyond the reasonable debate on a forum such as this, but the theories exist, are testable, and no, not in any way yet considered solid theories.

The god created everything theory however has been around as long as humans have been around. Still n proof supporting that theory.

I've not seen any such evidence. I see a lot of evidence that man made god--not the other way around. Simply consider how many faiths exist today and ever in history. Nearly all are mutually exclusive ideas for which is the true faith. The cannot all be right, yet these belief systems are so common that something other than their truth must explain that belief in gods is so common. To me, the most logical explanation is that religion is a man made phenomenon.

First cause of truth? As a proposition that doesn't make sense. Why would truth have a cause?

Knowledge, as is accumulated by mankind, is caused by mankind. Science is the method of accumulating knowledge so we can get ever closer to what is the truth. We never actually get to the whole truth--even the law of gravity had to be modified by Einstein's general relativity. And still, there are suggestions that the theory of gravity has more to it than we understand.

Of course god is not knowable--it is an untestable hypothesis by design. God and religion are not scientific, so they can never be disproven, but so could we never disprove that ghosts and fairies do not exist.

Pascal's wager is fatuous tripe. Do you believe in Zeus? Buddha ? Zoroaster? Thor? Allah? Yahweh ? Jesus ? Vishnu ? If Pascal's wager is good for one of them, it's good for all of them.

To put it in very simplistic terms -- Some gnostics believe that our creator (the demiurge) is inherently flawed, others that he is downright evil. Either way, the material world we live in is imperfect in essence, and cannot possibly be improved by the efforts of humanity.

Gnostics are quite a pessimistic bunch.

Oh dear... not my cup of tea then.

No, but that's the point. Varek is punishing Endor slowly and with great brutality. And by killing off the Ewoks slowly, his stormtroopers gain anti-ambush skills. Once a legion is rotated through Endor, they are far more effective in clearing out Rebels.

re: #573 BryanS

First cause of truth? As a proposition that doesn't make sense. Why would truth have a cause?

Knowledge, as is accumulated by mankind, is caused by mankind. Science is the method of accumulating knowledge so we can get ever closer to what is the truth. We never actually get to the whole truth--even the law of gravity had to be modified by Einstein's general relativity. And still, there are suggestions that the theory of gravity has more to it than we understand.

You have to have something to measure truth against. How do you know something is true? Because 'science' says so? What gives 'science' the monopoly on truth? Is it the empiricism?

It is the iterative method of testing and improving hypotheses that makes science the most credible method for determining truth. Science makes no claim to having absolute truth--only the best possible explanation, and then only with appropriate caveats regarding the weight of evidence .

Her actions on this earth were extrodinary enough to bring her dieification as a pagan goddess, a Catholic Saint, and a voodoo idol . It is from her that we have the word "bridge". She was a poet, healer, philosopher, warrior and blacksmith.
She must have been an amazing woman.

The problem is that the pattern of this group is to engage in these sorts of actions as a provocation to the Muslims. An action intended to start a riot is wrong. It's like shouting fire in a crowded exhibit hall.

Many of us are Democrats. They were quite nutty before they got a President. The sane ones, who are embarrassed by the excesses of their over zealous predicessors, can be identified by their sing-song warble;

Tu-Quoque!
Tu-Quogue!

Although a Democrat, I looked to the Republicans, in the past, out of disgust with the minority party.
It is now obvious that political insanity is not caused by party affiliation; it is a product of not having enough people in power to ensure the ability to maintain control.
All political parties are without honor.

I say this, not because I wish to engage in equivocation, but because it is the truth.

I would disagree. I'm proud to be a Democrat. That doesn't mean there aren't idiots in my party. But there are also fine men and women whom I admire, like Bill Clinton, Bill Nelson, Bob Graham, Kendrick and Carrie Meek, Lawton Chiles, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz (off the top of my head).

Charles -

Please read again.

1. Pam is So Pissed at me you have No Idea.

2. France, Germany and the EU generally have some stiff laws regarding Holocaust denial. Perhaps they need them. Here in the US we had Alan Cranston , back in the day, distributing Mein Kampf as sunshine and disinfectant for the ideas contained therein.

3. My Bottom line is really simple, insulting the "Sensitive Feelings" of an Imported Minority by eating & drinking a "Ham Sandwich and a Beer" in my own country is utterly ridiculous. (For the Record, I am "Kosher" - Muslims are "Halal" - Lobster is a "cheat" for me - Not for them.)

4. Are there "Bad Eggs" in the European Right - Hell Yes! - In the European Left - Don't Get Me Going! See: Gaza Fauxtography for a start.

5. That is where I stand. I am a US Citizen, conceived, near as I can count, in Havana, Cuba and born in Perth Amboy, NJ. Further, I have run for office in racially mixed areas and have gone into "Black Bars" where proprietors have asked whether I would be "comfortable" being there. Answer - I am here to get votes - looks like I'll have to be comfortable if I want them.

With all due respect, I think that we both can agree that whatever his shortcomings, and longcomings as well - George Washington - is the
"Father of Our Country."

Posit, a population in disagreement with that. Posit, that that population threatens violence for our veneration of Washington rather than their "Moe.'

re: #10 Charles

Absolutely. This is a disgusting tactic that has long been used by European antisemites. They just switched it over to the Muslims, and useful idiots like Geller fall right in line to support it.

Someone needs to have a quiet sit down with Ms Geller and explain this to her. In detail. My rational mind finds it difficult to grasp that she would consciously support this organization if she knew of its origins & tactics.

I find myself feeling sorry for Ms Geller. Perhaps I shouldn't, as she is an adult, but still...it's just pathetic of her.

By and large, "EUROPA" is Judenrein and has been since the end of WWII. (Same with Iraq, Egypt, Syria, etc. - a Subject for another day)
An Oven Ready 6 Million plus Post War emigration made sure of that.

Europeans have discovered to their HORROR, that Muslims are MORE DIFFERENT as residents than the Jews they killed were. Worse yet, with the advent of the "Welfare State" those Muslims take more and Give Less Back to Europe than the Jews did.

When Native European Populations get tired of this they will go back to form, and it Will NOT be Pretty. That is all.
