Carly Fiorina Insists Retired General Had a Dispute With Obama Even Though the Actual General Says He Didn’t
I read this earlier and just can’t stop chuckling about it. In the debate last night, Carly Fiorina said, “One of the things I would immediately do in addition to defeating them here at home is bring back the warrior class: Petraeus, McChrystal, Mattis, Keane, Flynn. Every single one of these generals I know, every one was retired early because they told President Obama things that he didn’t want to hear.”
So then today, Gen. Jack Keane went on Fox News and pointed out that he resigned during the George W. Bush administration in 2003. Keane said, “No, I have never spoken to the president. That’s not accurate, and I never served this administration. I served the previous administration.”
Oopsie, Carly! You might think she’d apologize for getting this so wrong, but remember, in this election season no Republican ever admits being mistaken about anything. And so, when asked about the General’s disavowal of her claim, Fiorina simply repeated it! Awesome.
Carly Fiorina Digs in on Claim That General’s Retirement Was Due to Obama Dispute.
When asked Wednesday if she misspoke, Fiorina dug in on the accuracy of her statement.
“No, I didn’t misspeak,” Fiorina told reporters today. “He has been someone of great experience who has been highly critical of the way this administration has not taken threats seriously and unfortunately he hasn’t been listened to and I would listen to him.”
